My tablet won’t allow the coupons.com printer app to be installed. If some awesome person wants to share the love I would appreciate a scanned copy sent to h_bumann@hotmail.com. thx!

  2. jenn

Nothing has been proven, but a lot of locals around Delaware’s dogs are getting violently ill or passing away. They haven’t found a cause but the only link that can be found is being fed dog chow. Just a warning.

    • jenn

My dog and my father in laws dog have ate this for years and they never got sick from eating it.

      • cbeths

This is the only brand my yorkie has eaten for years also. Never been sick (from the food.)

This is a great deal for donating to animal shelters!! Thanks for posting!!

    • jlgclassof2000

Exactly. our furbabies are on some fancy shmancy diet for allergy & weight problems, but I know the shelters won’t turn down donated food cuz lives depend on it. And there has been a time or 2 when we ran out of our dogs’ regular food & my freebie purina bags of food got us by without spending $ or going to the store. Plus this brand is better than some others out there, but agree it isnt an ideal long term diet for dogs or cats.

Geeze! Why in the world are they still allowed to sell this stuff???

  5. Brittany

Awesome! We are feeding two small horses-I mean 16 week old lab puppies and we are always looking for a great deal on puppy chow, which we have had NO issues out of, by the way!

  6. Niki

I always fed my cat this for 10 years and he got diabetes , according from my vet they said it was his diet

  7. bubbandmoose

my dog has eaten this for 13 years…she’s not dead

A little tidbit of info for anyone with large breed puppies- You shouldn’t feed them “puppy” food. It makes them grow too quickly… that can cause bone and joint problems. Best to feed them a good quality “dog” food from the beginning instead. 🐕

    • JenC

Strange. My veterinarian actually recommended Puppy Chow or Iams Smart Puppy for large breed for my Great Pyrenees pup.

      • Brittany

I agree, Jen C. The people at the shelter and my vet recommended Large breed puppy food. They told me that adult dog food doesn’t have the necessary ingredients needed and can be harsh on their digestive tracks and hard to process. I also have worked with animals in the past and never in any of my training had I heard such a thing.

        • Heather C.

I was referring to a traditional (high growth) puppy food… Ask any vet or canine expert, and they’ll agree.

Some vets don’t have much education in nutrition and what knowledge/products they do have is from pet food companies that want business- not what is best for your pet.

When you look at the price with coupon compared to the purchase of a larger sized bag at regular price without coupon, these size limited coupons make sense for the company, but not for the consumer.

    • cbeths

Thanks that’s what I was wondering. For anyone needing a price comparison, I bought the 20lb (16lb + 4 bonus) for $12.29 at walmart. Savings catcher found it for $10.99 at Target that week. So, 55 cents/pound, on sale.

Just found that this coupon is also available to load to your Kroger card too. Save some ink. I have three large breed dogs. I can only feed them the green bag dog chow. Anything else and they get sick. Never had issue with Purina and my lab has sensitive tummy.

Question! I downloaded coupon printer on my desktop twice and it kept crashing with viruses and my computer fixer guy told me to stop trying to download it because it was full of viruses. I didn’t listen, downloaded again on another computer, it crashed. So now I can’t print at all! I have a Mac laptop but I am NOT getting a virus on that! Lol how is everyone downloading this and getting it to work virus free? (If possible!)

    • Joyce

I printed the coupon from walmart.com! Just type ‘coupons’ into the search engine, click on the category for pets, and it’s the first one. Hopefully this helps you!

      • Kristen

I tried but it still says I need the coupon printer which is what caused the problems in the first place

    • Stacey C

I downloaded and installed awhile back. Been fine and prints with no problem on my computer.

Publix has a 1.50 store coupon to go along with this b1g1 making it an even better deal.

  13. jlgclassof2000

I just received mine Purina Cat Chow chip clip for joining their Club and doing a few simple short surveys to collect points (no purchase req’d, although entering the codes from bags of food is the best way to earn a lot of pts.) Anyway it was a few minutes very well spent cuz I haven’t seen a chip clip this nice and built to last in many many years.

  14. Amanda

None of our stores including Walmart will accept BOGO coupons unless they are directly from the newspaper. Anything printed from the computer they will not take. Anyone else have this issue.

    • Jennifer

I would question Walmart about that. Our walmart in West Jefferson NC accepts BOGO Coupons.

I run a rescue and have come to find out…at least my opinion…it really depends on the dog…(meaning their genes). Kinda like humans..some people can eat junk food and although are overweight they don’t have a heart attack…other people watch what they eat and unfortunately still get sick. I have a mother, daughter and son from different litters. Son is youngest and recently diagnosed with diabetics. Mother is going strong and is healthy at eleven…all three fed the same thing. Thank you all for your great tips…I love this site.

  16. Bridget

Shoprite has it on sale this week for under $3.00. I think 2.74?

  17. Candy Sue Deen
