I agree with everyone else…. Dr. Brown bottles were a MAJOR help with my son’s reflux. I used the avent bottles with my first and wish I would of bought the dr. brown’s for her as well. These are great, we just found we liked the wide mouth ones better!

We are transitioning from the bottle (breastmilk) to cup (whole milk) right now…not an easy process for us…but these are the bottles we used the past year. Lots and lots of pieces to wash, but worth every bit! They absolutely helped with gas and spitting up. This is a great price!

Our baby is due in April, and of course I’m thrilled but have been worried about the $…everything costs SO.MUCH. This is $27.99 at BRU, where I’m registered. When I can buy things like this at such a great price and take them off the registry it makes it more likely that others will be buying the other things we need. Thanks for all you do! You have saved our family so much!

Christa congratulations on your baby. I found the BRU trade in event to be a real money saver when our daughter was expecting her first. I purchase one of the nastiest umbrella strollers I could find in consignment shops for $5.00. I didn’t want ones that other people might actually use since BRU throws the trade in items in the trash. I then purchased my daughter’s travel system that her grandmother wanted to give her saving her grandmother $75.00. This works on a lot of the big ticket items.

Have you considered breastfeeding? That is essentially free, and will for sure save money for your family without having to purchase bottles, formula, drying racks, ect. Even if just for a few weeks. You wont regret it!

I breastfeed and still need everything a formula feeding mom would use minus the formula. I work and I get a break every now and then so either way you need bottles. This is a great deal!

Christa, you will want to talk to the lactation nurses in the hospital when you go in to have your baby. With all of the new healthcare rules for breastfeeding they are willing to give you a lot of stuff for free to get you started. Personally I had to pump due to my daughter being a preemie and she had some latch issues starting off. When I went in they gave me a TON of free nipples, Medela bottles and accessories. All you have to do is ask. While you will still need to get a few later on these freebies really helped out a lot! Also I highly suggest signing up for all of the in-store registries you can. Most places like BuyBuyBaby, BRU, and Target will give you free gift/sample bags for starting the registries in the store. I also received some great freebies when I went into Motherhood Maternity and bought stuff for the first time. The trick there is to buy something in the store to get the samples and then buy the rest online because they will send you more free samples with your online purchases. Also don’t shy about emailing companies for free samples and coupons. Most that I have emailed have sent them right out.

I used Dr. Brown bottles with my baby as well. Not only did they help with her gas bubbles but the nipples don’t suction shut while she’s drinking like most other bottles we tried. These do have 5 pieces per bottle which is a ton but it’s worth it in my opinion.

Do you hand wash these or dishwasher? Just gave birth to my sweet pea who was born premature. Looking into all the options that are out there. Thanks in advance for advice on bottle feeding.

    • Sarah

Dishwasher whenever possible! Because bottles need to be sterilized when babies are young, even if you hand wash them, you still have another step to do. Whereas, when you use the dishwasher, it sterilizes them for you! Saves a step and does a bunch at once. 🙂
