Omg i almost bought this yesterday and have been looking for a week, but thought id see if i could find a better deal! Thank you!! Though idk how i feel about buying something like this on amazon…?

Amazon has easy returns when the item is fulfilled by them. I have only ever needed to get refunds on consumable items damage during shopping but their customer service is great. I have a Brother machine that is similar in features and it was $300 I think this is a good deal.

I got my machine through HSN but wouldn’t hesitate to get one from amazon

        • Tiffany

Thank u so much for your reply… But if i buy from amazon can i get some kind of protection plan. Like if i buy from target or sears- they have a 2yr replacement plan i can get.

          • Rae

I’m not sure about that one. Maybe contact their customer service. Most things have factory warranty but I don’t know how long or if this machine even has one.

            • Tiffany

Ok thanks! Yea it has a 25 year warrenty on it, but you know how those factory warrenties are… Thanks again for the response!!

If I ever want to get a warranty I get one from Squaretrade.com. They have cheaper warranties than stores and sometimes better protections!

You can buy a protection plan from Amazon. I think it is through square trade, but purchased from Amazon

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my MIL in October when a deal was posted from Amazon. When I got the confirmation email it gave the ship date of Jan 17, 2015, even though it clearly stated the item was in stock and sold by Amazon on the order screen. Bear in mind the order was placed in October, 2014. I contacted customer service and pretty much got a “sorry, nothing they could do” reply. Needless to say I cancelled the order. That was the first time I’ve had a problem with Amazon. My orders since then, 2 have been received damaged, a ring I ordered my niece for Christmas has already lost a stone, and the Fodors Travel guide had shoe marks on the front of it, dirty, and several of the pages were dog eared. Looked like someone had returned it after their trip and Amazon sent it back out to the next customer, yuk! I have loved Amazon for many years, but the last 6 months or so have been problematic to the point I’m not ordering from them anymore.

Thats terrible! Ive only ordered from amazon maybe 5 times, since i “discovered” it at xmas time… But i havent had problems. Buy they were all smaller type things so…

My bf bought me this same model for 189 during the christmas season through amazon. Do you think they would price adjust. I kept hinting at it when we was on sale before but he had missed that sale last year.

    • Tiffany

      Do you like this machine?

      • lily

I do. I havent tinkered with all the stitch options but i fell in love with it

        • Tiffany

Great thank you!! I know it has gotten a ton of good reviews and awards. I almost bought thr last one posted here from staples but then came across this one online, so im glad i waited 🙂
Also, amazon price adjusted an item for me during xmas but it was only like 3 days later so im not really sure. But they do have great cust serv from what i seen and heard. Live chat them and just ask 🙂

I purchased this machine about a year ago, and it has been awful. It is a terrible machine. After multiple problems, I took it to have it fixed. The repairman told me that it is largely plastic, and it is one of the lowest quality machines he works on. If you try to sew on anything heavier than cotton (which I did), the arm actually bends backwards. He said that he guarantees his work on every machine but Singer (especially this model), since they break so often. I wished I saved a bit more and got a higher quality.

Honestly ladies, if you want a quality sewing machine, go to your local sewing machine dealer and buy a BASIC sewing machine with no bells and whistles. If you live in a large city, there will be many dealers, so shop around and test drive the machines. I’ve been sewing for 20 years (learned 30 years ago, but didn’t really start sewing until I was married) and trying to sew on a piece of junk is the fastest way to squelch your desire to sew. You can buy a simple, yet high QUALITY machine, for a little more than this Amazon price, plus you have a dealer to help you when you have problems or to help you get started.

Also, you really only need a straight and zigzag stitch. Most never use all the decorative stitches that a machine can do. Honestly, a basic solid machine is key and something you will have for many years to come. If you decided you love sewing, you can upgrade to something fancier, but I have a midrange machine and only every use straight and zigzag for all my sewing.

My husband got me this machine for Christmas- he also ordered it from Amazon. I’ve had zero issues with it- it’s a really nice machine. I’ve had zero issues sewing with it- even thru multiple heavy layers.
