   Just a heads up for those who feed your pets purina beneful: There have been several reports of dogs developing liver failure and internal bleeding from this food. There’s an up and coming class-action lawsuit regarding the food and yet they still refuse to pull it from shelves as they claim its safe to feed your pets. Its a sad day when they’re more concerned about making money than the safety of our pets. You can read more about it here:

   I had just put my pup on this food in hopes of finding a food she likes. I think Ill keep looking… Any recommendations? I was thinking about trying blue buffalo.

  So about 2 years ago I did a lot of research on dog foods and quality v cost. I suggest looking at dogfoodadvisor.com. A few decent foods at reasonable price point: Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul and Taste of the Wild.

  I should add that you’ll generally need to feed dogs less of a good quality food because it’s more nutrient dense, bringing down the “actual” cost of the better quality food.
