Thanks! I moved to Oregon after being born and raised in California, and though I love it here, I do miss seeing the poppies blooming everywhere!

At target they usually have gardening stuff clearance at end of season. And I think homedepo have spring Black Friday sale(I forgot the exact name) for garden stuff. I usually buy mulch, and garden soil. I think price is good. Oh, and make sure check your local town’s garden club plant sale. My town’s garden club has flower plants, vegetable plants, and baby trees for really good price. And ladies give me hint or advise when I ask. And I like helping local town.

Hope this help you. Best wish for your sister. (My English is not my first language so if I have typo, sorry)

I love gardening. Can’t wait to long snowy winter to be finish!!

      Garage sales!

My town’s department of public works gives away soil and mulch for free certain times of the year. They are part of the recycling project. Try calling your sister’s town and see if there is anything for free

If you’re looking for seeds, check to see if your local library offers a seed library. (Generally, how this works is that they will give you seeds to plant, and ask that you give some seeds from your plants back to the seed library at the end of the season.)

Produce Junction has good prices on plants if you live near one. Farmer’s markets can be good too. Also if you have any friends or family who are gardeners they often will share plant cuttings and landscapers can have extra mulch or plants. You can ask around at local nurseries too. Sending healing thoughts and prayers your way. Gardens are very therapeutic in my experience and your sister is lucky to have someone who loves her and wants to care for her in this difficult season.

Try the Dollar Tree. We’ve had great success with their seeds and they are 4 packs for $1. And Starbucks has free coffee grinds for gardens. I’m really not sure what plants benefit from them though. Best to you and your sister. 🙂 🙂

    • me too

Go to gardens alive online. You usually get $50 worth of stuff for $25.

Just a reminder to anyone with pets, Poppies can be poisonous to cats and dogs. Be careful where you plant them.
