  2. Randee

I have a question. Can I use a target gift card I received tru a previous deal to pay for part of this transaction and still get the gift cards mentioned? TIA

    • Kerryiu

Yes, Target gift cards can be rolled

      • Randee

        Awesome!! Thanks

  3. Sandy

I only do printable coupons. I’d love to see a scenario where only those were used. TIA.

    • Suzyq

      Agreed!! 🙂

    • shopper

      Idea:

      buy 6 select Colgate toothpastes @ 3.99 each = 23.94
use $5 Target personal care coupon
use 6 $1/1 Colgate toothpaste coupons (printed, Collin’s link)
      Pay: 17.94
Get $5 gc from Target coupon
      Get 2 – $5 gc from Colgate
Final: $2.96 for all 6 or .49 cents each

      • Jane

target has a limit of 4 like coupons per day, so you wouldn’t be able to use six

        • shopper

          Temporarily forgot that, thanks.

      • GA

You can do this deal with 3 toothpaste and 3 mouthwash. These items are priced the same and the coupon for each is $1/1.

    • mrspike

On deal # 2, Why would I use the 2/2 Pantene q and not the 5/3?

    • jam87ie

because she is only buying 2 pantene

      • Diana

Oop is cheaper if u buy 1 bic and 3 pantene

    • katttro

      Two pantene items only

  5. Musk

    Awesome!

  6. Angela Bennett Babbitt Hofheins

My 3/1 RP doesn’t have the $2/1 Garnier Fructis Style Product coupon found in the 3/1 RP. Are you aware of where else I may snag some of these coupons? Thanks.

    • mary

I ordered some from klip2save.Com this morning.

  7. Lynn

I love hip2save and I love couponing but I have to say that this posts hits my biggest couponing pet peeve. It drives me crazy when we (as couponers) say things like in this title “7 items for only $1.11!” You have to spend $11.11 and then you get back $10 in gift cards. Here’s my point. When you spend those gift cards you don’t say “I just spent $10” you would say that those items were free because you paid with your gift card. So, you would be claiming those $10 were free when you first bought the original items and then again when you used them. I’m just saying when you say it that way it makes it sound like you get more of a deal than you really do. Ok, sorry for my mini rant!

    • Krista

I understand but I always consider when I use the gc the same as using cash so I claim the savings on the transaction where the gc is earned.

    • mel

I agree, it does seem misleading. I always thought it was odd that drugstore ads would include the promo savings “It’s like paying XX”. But NO, not really, my OOP is going to be XX THEN I get the reward to use on my next trip. Anyway, in my savings spreadsheet, all GCs/Store Rewards are deducted off when I use them, not when I earn them. That’s the way I learned when I first started going online to get deals (10+ years ago!) I just ignore bloggers figures b/c I have my own transactions planned, with rewards & GCs to roll, making my final price higher or lower than what they post.

    • Mer

Not really. I shop so often at target that a $10 gift card will get used. If you aren’t an avid target shopper and won’t use the gift card, don’t do the deal. Common sense

    • Michelle

I agree that is why i am very careful how i spend ecb or gift cards because they r the same as money. I only use then on things i can get with coupons or even earn more ecb or giftcards on. I look at the overall price i paid for everything including the items i go free with ecb or giftcards. It still is a huge savings but only if u know what u r doing!

    • Yvonne Bush

I totally agree. You are not using these gift cards on this transaction so you really cant say you save it on that transaction. You will actually use it to save on another transaction when you actually use the gift cards. You can only say you saved with them when you use them.

    • Jenny

I agree, hate when bloggers do this!

      • Musk

I agree with Krista. I see the savings just like Collin. For me Target Gift card is equal to Cash. Target Gift card does NOT equal coupon.

        First transaction – $11 – $10 gift card back. So I spent $1
Second transaction – $15 – I use $10 gift card from my 1st transaction just like paying with money. So I did spend $15.

        • mel

The problem is, I read a lot of people double count the GC (or ECB or UP). Once when they earn it, then when they spend it. Its one or the other, but not both.
I prefer to count it when I use it, it just keeps ME straight LOL. Since I had to buy something to get the GC, it just seems odd to count it on *that* transaction.
          To each their own though!

    • meg

I am floored by all these comments. If all of you don’t like the posts then by all means just don’t go to the store and do them! These are posted as an idea for all of us to save money. Why pick it apart? How about a thank you or just don’t comment at all. Seems just a bit ungrateful and very negative. Not all deals posted are a great deal to me but I just move along. SMH

    • Gretchen

Collin is usually pretty good about posting a little disclaimer in her titles. Like (after gc) or (after ecb) so I don’t feel mislead by her. In this particular post she didn’t, BUT she has been posting about this HOT upcoming Target deal for awhile, so I don’t blame her for abbreviating the title. I think most people who follow this blog religiously knew that this entailed a gc deal before they read it.

    • Lynn

I love all that Colin does and I save a ton of money because of her. This wasn’t meant to be rude or negative. I was just pointing out a silly pet peeve of mine.

    • shannon

just curious, how would you word it? I know what you mean but think Collin means that after the gift card deal, you get it for $1.11. Since many of us shop at Target, it seems like a good deal.

  8. Tracey

I plan to buy 3 Colgate, 3 Pantene and 1 BIC after coupons pay $9.80 and get (2) $5 gift cards.

    • angela

      did it work?

  9. angel

My target does not have the gift card promo. Its on the big size.

    • mel

      For what item?

  10. Uhmuna

I don’t count Walgreens rr and Rite Aid’s uprewards as cash because their prices are overpriced and I have to find a deal that is worthy to spend them. I don’t shop at Walgreens any more because they so many restrictions on rr. But target gift card is different. It is just like cash.

    • Gretchen

And at least with Target gc deals, they trigger as soon as the items ring, so you know before you purchase if you are getting the deal. With CVS I feel like it’s a crap shoot. You pay and maybe ecb print on your receipt and maybe not!

  11. Lani

Can someone tell me which products are included in the Colgate buy three get $5 gc promo that ends on 3/28?

  12. mary

    Opic white express

  13. shannon

I am going to get BOGO on the Right Guard so it should be a great deal after the coupons> It’s a price match at Winn Dixie

    • mel

I don’t believe Target price matches BOGOs or price match at all when there is a GC promo.

      • mel

OK, I do see they will PM BOGO as long as there is a price, but a few lines down, say they don’t PM when Target or the competitor is offering a free gift card.
