One of the reasons I don’t get these at Costco. I like it when this deal goes on.

There was a $1 Colgate toothpaste manufacturer coupon on coupons.com
a week or two ago if you printed it while it was available!!

Off topic but related to CVS… just a few things I noticed during my trip. I bought a cerave bar soap for 6.49 and wanted to use my $6 off cerave coupon but the register beeped and said none of my items matched, so cashier says it has to be cleanser or lotion which are more expensive… so I told her to take it off. But she had already scanned my $6 off $30 but I knew wothout the cerave my total would be less than 30…it was actually $27, but register still took off $6. Has that happened to anyone else? And I bought two snickers to use bogo and the coupon machine for .75 off deducted twice, plus cashier mamually took off .99 so those ended up being a moneymaker! I thought the coupon machine coupon only applies to one item but maybe not? I’ve couponed for years and thought I understood CVS but many things surprised me on this trip! Worked in my favor though!!

I’ve had that happen where I changed my mind about something, but the system still kept my $/$$. AFA the scanner q, I’ve noticed that those apply to all applicible items, even if the coupon is off 1. Like a few wks ago, I bought 2 body washes and I used a $1 off body wash coupon, it looked like this

      soft soap
      – $1 off body wash, bar
      soft soap
      – $1 off body wash, bar

Underneath where all my coupons were deducted, only $1 actually came off. I’m pretty sure you only got $0.75 off, unless the cashier scanned it twice, then there would be 2 $0.75 deductions.

      • S

Oh I just looked and you’re both right… just took off the candy coupon once! Thanks for explaining!!

    • shopper

The Cerave $6 doesn’t include the soap.

For candy, it really only takes the .75 off once but the bold text appears next to all qualified products in item list.

The $6 off $30 comes of first then works down when using coupons, sometimes the cashier will fudge with it if needed.

Does it state on the coupon that cerave soap is excluded? I’ve used 4 coupons at Walmart and they didn’t beep at all and got the overage towards the rest of my purchase.

I had this happen last week with a $6 off $30 purchase CVS coupon. I took something off my order at the last minute but forgot my total would be less than $30. The register actually pro-government the coupon to my order total!

        ^* pro-rated
        dang auto correct!

I also had problem using $10/2 baby Cerave MQ. System would not accept.

The $6 cerave coupons works on soap just fine I used it at shoprite they adjust the coupon price to $5.99 and you just pay tax

    • shopper

The store is still manually entering it, the coupon won’t go through by itself on soap.

Coupon does state, good only on product sizes and varieties indicated..soap isn’t pictured only the cream, hydrating cleanser and lotion.

I also used my 6$ Cerave coupon and got the soap, it was $6.20 with the 2nd half price so I got two dry skin cerave soaps for $3.30. I was happy, my hubby uses this soap. I think it depends where you go and as usual…..who the cashier is. I like to get the younger boys who really don’t scrutinize the coupon to death like the older cranky cashiers. I like them too, but they can be difficult.

Will the register beep if the coupon value exceeds the price of the product? Will they manually adjust the value of the coupon? Will overage be applied to other items?

    • jean

Yes, it will beep. Most stores will not manually adjust the coupon but some stores that are coupon friendly will.Overage won’t be applied unless the cashier decides to manually override the coupon and give you the full value of it.

    • Carla

every time Ive had this happen at CVS, they manually adjust the price down. And it’s always been a different cashier
