   I received that baby care set as a shower gift. Not worth it. I used only a few items out of it, particularly the nail clippers. The bulb comes apart in 2 pieces which in theory makes it easier to clean, but in reality creates a gap so there is zero suction. The other components (case included) can be found at much better prices, and for better quality items, when bought separately.

  Also, a lot of it was stuff the hospital gave me for free and worked much better, like the suction ball, thermometer, comb set.

   hey Collin! And anyone who could help.. Going to a baby shower soon and I missed out on the Nordstrom deal :-/ on the petunia pickle bottom bag which was such an awesome deal… I was wondering if there is any other gifts idea that looks pricey but could still keep me in the 50-80 mark… Since it was a close friend of mine I was going to get her the bag retail price yikess but I just can’t bring myself to pay that much.. Please help!!! I was going to do a basket but I know a couple people already doing that… I might just give up and cough up the 160??? Is it even worth it for these bags?

  I loved my PPB diaper bag. I had the boxy backpack style. If you do have to pay retail you might check their website for the sale section. They have a few marked down.

  I would get either freshly picked moccasins or a Solly baby wrap. They are wonderful for a new mom and high quality gifts!

  I have an 8 month old and if she hasn’t got them already, I can beyond recommend the following things:
  Summer Infant 3-Stage SuperSeat: Positioner, Activity Seat, and Booster – this thing saved us. I know there’s a whole big thing about bumbos in some circles, but being able to keep him still and entertained long enough to shower and breathe was priceless.
  The baby bath ring seat – it’s a big circle that sits them up in the tub/sink. My son ADORES it, and I can sit him in the clean half of the sink and do dishes in the dirty half (like a boss!).
  We also loved our bouncer when he was really really little. The super seat was after he graduated from the bouncer.
  Just some ideas that aren’t a basket or clothes that were/are amazing for us 🙂

  I always make a diaper cake or bassinet…then incorporate some little gifts into it. People are always amazed with it and it’s a $60 gift that everyone is impressed with. You can use decorative ribbon and fake flowers to decorate it.

  Plus you’re spending time on it, which is always appreciated by a friend 😉

  I second the diaper cake. I would get name brand diapers in size 1 or 2. Make sure you use rubber bands. She will love it, it’s a beautiful decoration. I’ve done many by following utube videos. It does take time but completely worth it.
