(Thanks, Mommy Octopus!)
Thanks, great reminder.
Be sure and check your local bookstores, too. There’s one small business bookstore in my city that rewards kids AND adults for summer reading. 🙂
Is it the grade they are going into?
My son participated last summer when he was about to enter 1st grade. We just filled out 1st on the form.
Love this program! We do it every year!!
Do they have a limited number of books you can get? My daughter is finishing 2nd grade and loves reading the smaller Chapter books but I have to yell at her sometimes to put the book down so I know she would frequent this program.
Fine print states one book.
In years past forms said you could participate twice per child.
This program is fantastic. It really is so easy and the kids get a brand new book! My kids love reading extra for this. Well done, Barnes and Noble!!
Your local public library will also have a summer reading program for kids!
As a former Children’s Librarian, I always like to plug the public library where there is no pressure or temptation to buy anything. That said, I also believe that every child should own books as well.
I am a former Children’s Librarian as well. Yes, do check out your local library for their summer reading programs.
Btw, my kids really enjoy the Barnes and Noble program too. We have been participating for years.
My three girls absolutely LOVE going to our local libraries (we have two that we frequent several times a week). I’m very blessed that they all love to read, and during the summer, we really enjoy the summer programs/activities they offer each week. We print a schedule of library programs and the $1 movies, and that’s typically what we fill our summers with…plus pool time and other activities. The Barnes and Noble reading program is also one of their favorites, but they usually read their eight books within the first two weeks…lol. Last year, B&N let them do a second round of eight books, so they were excited to get two free books.
Thank you..
Thanks Collin…. Didn’t know abt this…
