Coupon says “one coupon per person, per a check” so does this mean you can only do 1 per party? Or maybe you would have to do separate checks?

    • Maria

last time they ran this promotion it was separate checks.

My coupon doesn’t state that. The email advertising this didn’t state “per a check” either, but rather “per a visit.” My coupon only references “per person, per coupon.”

I was very excited about this being a great deal until I saw on the coupon the maximum value of $5.29, so that must be all they regularly charge for this. Still $5 for unlimited soup, salad, and those delicious bread sticks is pretty great (especially if you only order water and just have tax and tip to add).

      • Jennifer B.

My apologies — further down it does also state “per person, per a check” on the coupon. Sorry!

Maximum value of discount offer is $5.29, and since the offer is for a price of $5, that means the highest normal price, probably in San Fran or NY or DC is $10.29, and otherwise where the normal price is 6.99 or 7.99, the discount is only 1.99 or 2.99 to get down to the $5 price, which is well within the $5.29 maximum discount value.

        • Jennifer B.

Ah, yes. Thanks for the clarification. It makes perfect sense when I note that is the *discount* maximum!

I just got a coupon for a free appetizer or desert with the purchase of 2 adult entrees when I signed up to get this coupon.

  3. Roxanne

Last time they had this special they only let us have one per table which I think is not right 🙁

    • lindak

My husband and I each used a coupon last time around with no problem. Maybe it varies by restaurant.

    • Open Up Your Eyes

Technically the first time they had this promotion, around 3 months ago now the coupon said one per table and it was a huge fiasco and OG got a LOT of negative feedback all over social media, so the last time or second time they put out this offer they changed the fine print from one per table to one per check, so yes you do have to have separate checks or orders per table, but everyone with a coupon should be able to use one. Unless the location doesn’t understand or is making up their own rules for the offer.

Even without a coupon I don’t think that it usually costs much more than this; usually in the $6 range. It’s more about promoting an option that people might not otherwise know/think about and I’m guessing they’re pricing it at $5 because that seems to have become a benchmark for lunch prices lately, probably thanks to the sub sandwich places.

    • MommySpendsLess

Oops I missed the soup part, I think the one with soup is a dollar or two higher than the salad and breadsticks I usually get

  5. Jackie

I think it’s supposed to be $6.99 the soup and salad combo. So you would be saving around $2/order

Carrabas and Mac Grill consider these types of coupons to only be used per table. Even if you pay separate checks. I’m thinking that’s how this restaurant may work also.

  8. Mary

I waitress as Friendlys and we are only allowed to apply one coupon per table so I’m assuming Olive Garden does something similar

  9. Charlene

Anyone know how much for little kids to get this? Ages 2, 3, 4 can they do soup and breadsticks too? Would it be $5 or cheaper?

  10. Sam

I work at Olive Garden soup and salad is normally 6.99 to 7.99 depending on location. There isn’t a cheaper kids price for soup and salad but the kids meals are about the same price and you get an entree, side and soup OR salad with the kids meals. Technically it is one coupon per table but we can use more coupons only if it is spectate checks, the computer will only allow one coupon per ticket. Also please keep in mind during this promotion while it is 5 dollars for unlimited soup and salad it is nice to tip according to your level of service not just the 5 dollar price. If you get several refills it is quite a lot of work for us waitresses who run back and forth grabbing these unlimited soups and making salads : )

    • karen

Ok Sam we will make sure you guys get a nice tip 🙂

  11. rachel

Yes, tip your server based on service, not based on the bill. I worked for Olive Garden several years ago and it was A LOT of work. On average we would go to a table at least a dozen times with refills. Tipping 20% on a $5 bill is rude and inconsiderate.
