Looking to save on your next vacation? Head over to Expedia.com and check out their Daily Deals where you can save as much as 40% on hotels, vacation packages and flights. I spotted deals for travel to Las Vegas, Orlando, Los Angeles, Cancun, Lake Tahoe, Puerto Rico and many more destinations!

And I love that Expedia offers a Best Price Guarantee that covers hotels, vacation packages, rental cars, and activities —> if you find a cheaper, identical trip within 24 hours of booking, they will refund the difference and give you an Expedia travel coupon worth $50.

And did you know that Expedia offers a FREE Rewards Program called Expedia+ rewards. When you join this program and book eligible travel (including vacation packages, hotels, flights, cruises, and activities), you earn points to use toward Expedia+ travel rewards. And when you book flights, you can earn frequent flyer miles simultaneously with your Expedia+ rewards points.

I have worked at many popular hotel chains and a word of warning about 3rd party travel agencies such as these… they rarely listen to special requests and few guarantee you a room type. I always recommend booking direct with your hotel and verifying you are on a hotel site when booking. 3rd party rarely lets you cancel or change dates. They charge your card immediately upon booking, often carry hidden fees, and do not do the research to ensure you are booking at a quality property. I have had more complaints from sites like expedia.

I’ve also been told by a few hotel staff that many hotels will match the “deal” site’s price if you ask. They have to give the booking site a cut, so they make more by booking directly with a customer, even if they discount the price. I’ve had a few bad experiences with deal sites, so I’d much rather go through a hotel directly.

Agreed. You should always double check the price on the hotel’s own website. We stayed at a Marriott for spring break and the price on the deal site was the same as on Marriott’s site BUT breakfast was included if you booked thru Marriott and we are huge fans of a good, free breakfast!

I have been using Expedia for a year now. I just used a $25 gift card I earned with my points. And I found a cheaper price on the hotel we just stayed at 2 days ago so I followed the simple price match steps and got it for the cheaper price and will be getting the $50 gift card in 4-6 weeks:)
