    Ok, I admit this is definitely a 1st World problem, but I get so frustrated with companies that only sell sizes that fit “average”. What about the short women? What about the tall women? I don’t know the percentage of tall women in the population, but I know the under 5’4” crowd is sizable. Yet I am finding that it is close to impossible to go into a store and try on a petite bootcut pair of jeans. I see them online, but as it stands I normally have to try on a variety of sizes to find the perfect fit for most clothing items. I am not interested in shopping online for clothing unless I already know that it will fit. For those who say, “Just hem them”, when you cut off the inches to make them fit, you end up destroying the bootcut. Any suggestions for shopping for reasonable priced petite bootcut jeans?

  I’m 5ft, I buy jeans on the cheap from victoriasecret.com, I know crazy, but their clothes are quality, they sell short sizes in pants, they always have coupons that stack with sales and I can return to the store with no hassles

  I have the same problem! 5’4″, have a long waste and really short legs. And no, hemming does not work. By the time you pay the money to get something hemmed, it would’ve been better just to pay a little extra and get something in petite sizing. I usually wait to get my jeans at American Eagle on a good sale. They have a great selection of petite sizes and cute jeans to boot. If you don’t like they way they fit you can just return them in store. Have you tried Old Navy? Their jeans are good quality and I can usually find something for my short legs. 🙂

  Oh Melissa I feel your pain. I’m 5’9 and size xl and there isn’t much out there. Specialty shops are ridiculously overpriced for this stay at home mom of three. My best friend is 5’2 and has the same problem opposite the spectrum. Maybe someday we will be heard 🙁

  Same here, I am 4’10. I actually used to shop at Delia’s because they carried petite (shorter than short) in store and with shop runner but they went under. 🙁

  I’ve had luck with threadup for dress pants in petite but not jeans. 🙁
