Happy Friday: Rewarded for Writing
Sent from reader, Kira:
My daughter is 4 years old and doesn’t have a lot of interest in learning. I decided to help her letter recognition by having her send emails. I used another couponer’s idea to write to companies about the products we use. My daughter came up with the products she liked or had suggestions for (Kraft Mac & Cheese, Tyson Nuggets, and Quaker Oatmeal). She has eaten Quaker oatmeal almost every day for nearly three years so she was super excited when PepsiCo (owners of Quaker) answered her message within a week by sending her a bunch of goodies. She loves her t-shirt, bowl, and coupons they sent. Not only does this make her love Quaker even more, but she is excited to write more letters and to go shopping with her coupons.
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

That’s great. I just have my kids scan the coupons and help clip them. This is even better!!! They are already cheap like me!!!
SCAN coupons? You can’t copy coupons.
I think she means “scan” as in “skim”…or look through them real quickly for products their family uses. 🙂
Such a great idea. What a cutie pie!!
She’s beautiful! Good idea mom!!

wonderful way to learn and encourage a child. Adorable young lady and t shirt!
That is so wonderful!! What a great idea to have your daughter help you! You said that she doesn’t have much interest in learning, but I hope this will encourage her and make her want to learn more things! That was also such a creative way to help her learn the recognition of letters and words. And she is so adorable!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Friday cuteness overload!!!!
She is too adorable. Thanks for the great tip with another way to include children in the saving lifestyle.

She’s so cute and that’s such a great idea! Thanks for sharing!
This is so cute! You sound like a wonderful parent.
What a cute couponing buddy!
Precious little girl- melts my heart.
I love this story and the way you found to teach your daughter. Not all children learn the same and this is wonderful!!
Super cute story
Cute!!
Awe! Great idea mom! I see more coupons in her future 😉
I love it! I think this would be great to use in a classroom as well. I teach special needs and I’m always looking for new writing activities that incorporate life skills. 🙂
What a clever way to get around your daughter’s disinterest in learning! I have 3 kids, and they are as different as night and day. God gave them their unique personalities and so I quickly learned that I can’t assume that what works for one child will work for another. Now I have twin grandsons. It is the same story!
How adorable! My daughter knows what coupons are and loves to go shopping with me. She is 8 and has Down syndrome. I hope one day she can do her own couponing!
She is adorable! And what a fun idea! I LOVED getting stuff in the mail when I was her age.
She’s so cute!!! I loved when my daughter was that age and she would call my coupons “tickets”. That’s so great they sent some goodies!!
What a cutie! Nice job!
What a sweet girl! And the shirt is a keeper for sure.
great way to teach her
Good job getting creative with learning Mama! This really makes me like Quaker (PepsiCo) even more – how wonderful to send all of those goodies!
