I used the $20 off Amazon offer on Monday and had the credit on Tuesday. AmExp has great customer service as well.
The USAA AmEx must be on its own thing because we never get these offers.
I was just about to ask if anyone with usaa got these offers. I never get them either but usaa is the only banking we will trust/use.
The only offers we get are free quotes for the different insurances they offer.

Just a FYI I bought steak and shake gift card on samsclub.com for $39.98 15 minutes ago. I just logged on amex and it is pending, but as “sams club photo” and it clearly states in the email that I got from amex about the offer that sams club photo orders are excluded! I don’t get how they are categorizing steak and shake gift cards as a photo order, but oh well. I needed to buy them anyway but it would have been nice to have $20 off!

Thank you for posting this as well. I ordered a gift card, but it was also listed as “sams club photo,” which is among the exclusion. I live-chatted with them, but they were not any help whatsoever. They told me that I needed to contact the merchant and have them change how their business name is registered. King of ridiculous.

2nd purchase — Dehydrated potatoes – shows up as Sam’s Club photo
called Am Ex and they said they cannot change what the merchant classifies it as that we have to contact Sam’s. I have contacted Sam’s, but it has not been resolved yet
I did find out that the merchant is the one that pays for the coupon discounts on Am Ex — so if this is a scam Sam’s is running it will not be good for business.
I will be cancelling both of my orders if they are not going to honor it
Another thing it did — all online purchases on shopathome was paying 4%, photo department was only paying .5% so I didn’t get as much on shop at home either 🙁
The only one I had was sams club. THere’s 45 offers but 90% of the places I have never heard of!

There isn’t a location to set, that gives offers. Some offers are based on your spending. The only zip code is your billing address.
HI I did receive the Sams club offer but looks like it’s only on sams club.com not in store. Did any one recv something similar?

Yes, I got the same. Make sure you read ALL the rules because they are VERY specific on some so you want to be careful to get your credit. The Sams Club offer is for online orders only, not in club and you can NOT do store pick up order either.
I read it differently than you. I think you will still get the credit if you choose in-club pick-up, you just can’t pay in-club.

Right. As I read that, it’s valid for an in-club pickup that’s paid for online.

For Sam’s, u can sync ur card to twitter And tweet it to add offer. google twitter sync Amex
Thank you for posting. I did this. It doesn’t show the offer in my AmEx account but as long as the twitter thing is set up and I received a tweet back, I’m assuming it will work just fine.

For those who got $20 for Amazon purchases, if I have $20 worth of items sold & shipped by Amazon plus $20 worth of items not sold nor shipped by Amazon, would you know if Amex will still give me the $20 rebate? I would separate them to make sure I get the rebate, but I need to habe $35 n my cart to get free shipping.
use ur Amex offer to buy amazon gift card first. $20 for each Amex credit card with offer. Then load gc to ur amazon account. Use gc for ur items. I bought gc several weeks ago and got credits for all my three credit cards. No problem.
I’ve had this offer and just ordered, no need to buy Amazon gc first. Your statement will show Amazon as the merchant, even for items fulfilled by them.
If you’re buying direct from a seller (no fulilled by Amazon) statement may show Amazon Marketplace instead, but those don’t qualify for free shipping.

See the terms of offer. It posts as a statement credit, so many weeks later. Will never appear on the order.
Not many weeks lol. Usually one or two days after the transaction is posted to ur Amex account. Yes, it will not show up in ur order but will be a statement credit to ur credit card.

my credit actually posted right away after the item shipped. However — make sure the item you purchased was sold by Amazon as they have literally thousands of sellers. Even prime stuff can be other sellers besides Amazon

I, too, ordered from Sam’s Club online and the transaction was labeled Sam’s Club Online Photo. Chatted AMEX and was told to contact Sams’s Club. Did that, (btw, the gentleman at Sam’s Club was a great guy in a very good mood), and the representative looked up my order and was just as perplexed as I was on how it could have been labeled a Photo Order. He said he would send some paperwork to me verifying my order had nothing to do with the photo department should AMEX refuse to honor the promotion. Which, as I understand, it’s Sam’s Club that would actually be paying. He gave me a case number and took down a contact phone number to get back to me. So it’s still an open debate.
I was told by AMEX (when I asked what would happen if Sam’s Club was unable to change their transaction info) the basic line that AMEX would stand by me in any case of fraud by the Merchant.
Seems like this deal is turning into one heck of a headache and unfortunately it’s too late to cancel the order. Sam’s Club created such a great loophole for itself.
Update: Just noticed on my pending transactions that “Online Photo” was removed. It simply says “Sam’sClub.Com” now. *fingers crossed*

I got the Sam’s club one but no Amazon. I am going to try and purchase a restaurant card .Someone above mentioned they bought steak and shake card. It all seems a bit confusing, I have been babysitting three grandkids all week and apart from being tired I am in a mental fog. I guess I have until September to sort it out. I think it does include tax. I bought a chair at office Depot and I forgot to get to $50. The chair was 48.99 but with tax it was over $50. I received $10 credit still

For those who don’t have sam club’s membership like me, you can still order stuff by a guest account and have them sent to you, you just have to pay a 10% fee for non-membership. I ordered baby wipes for $22 (including taxes) and get $20 back, so basically I get a big box of wipes for close to $2. HTH !

I just contacted American Express. They said they are aware of the issue with the pending “photo” charges and are working on it. So hopefully it will work soon.

I contacted Sam’s they blamed AmEx, I just contacted AmEx they blamed Sam’s and said they cannot change a department the merchant biills that I would need to contact Sam’s
I also asked them if the coupons were issued and paid by Amex or if they were issued and paid by the merchant

I would make the purchase and just wait for Amex to do what they need to. It appears that I didn’t order directly from Amazon (a seller) but was still credited a day later. After speaking with customer service, they said I would be credited if the item was NOT a photo item.
Strange on a card we don’t even use we got these offers but the card we use the most we only got the Smart and Final one, besides some others.
I don’t see that we have these offers on your Amex blue….unless I’m missing something
