We don’t have Safeway where we live. Is there a way we can do this deal online? Thanks Collin!!

  2. Rosa

I got a TGIF one too

  3. amy

I have a $10 off $50 tgi Friday’s as well.. can I do jcpenney $50 gift card and get it for $30, and then do a second transaction for Friday’s $50 and get it for $30 as well?

    • Bambing

TGIF is not included in the instore promo/sale

  4. Amanda

I saw the $10 off $50 giftcard offer in my justforu account. Is there another tab I need to click on to add the other $10 off for the deal?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You won’t need to add the other $10 offer…it will come off automatically at checkout. You should be able to see the offer mentioned in your local ad.

  5. Rachel

Does anyone know what other gift cards might be included in the “save an additional $10 instantly at checkout whenever you spend $50 or more on participating gift cards through 5/12” that Colin mentioned? My guess is that it’s an in store promo/sale.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You can check your online ad to see a few pictures of participating gift cards.

      • Rachel

        Thank you! πŸ™‚

    • Bambing

From what I remember on the store tags: Bath & Body Works, Sephora, SpaFinder, Applebee’s

  6. Myth

I bought a $100 gap GC for $80 yesterday. Will go today for this deal. Thank u so much Collin!

    • Bambing

Gap’s not included, you probably have the $5 off $25 j4u offer.

    • amy

When you go back can you see if TGI Fridays is included? Thanks!!

      • Myth

I hope TGI Fridays is not included. But will check amy!

  7. Mattie

Does this work at Vons too?

    • S

I’d like to know as well since we don’t have Safeway in SD, ca

    • Lynn

      Yes πŸ™‚

    • Mimi

Vons belongs to Safeway, so, yes. It will work.

  8. kavi

There is a very good offer if you have American Express credit card. There is a Smart & Final offer where you can get a $25 statement credit after spending $50+. You can get the offer 3 times per enrolled AMEX card! Also Smart & Final is offering $10 off your next purchase (valid upto 12th May) if you buy selected gift cards for $50 (includes JC Penney). I already purchased the gift card and got the credit from AMEX. Basically you will get back $35 when you purchase $50 gift card. You can do this deal 3 times per card. Combine your gift card with $10 coupon at JCP/Macys. AWESOME DEAL!!!

    • mike

Thanks for posting this. I’ve used the amex offer once and the credit was posted within days. Have you received you received the credit based on the gift card purchase? I thought gift card purchases were excluded.
Also, those that buy torani syrups..smart &final for years have offered these 750ml bottles for 3.99 if you buy 6 or more. Very easy to reach $50. As Kavi mentioned this can be used 3 times…i believe until 06/05

      • kavi

I received the email from AMEX immediately after purchasing gift card so it works on gc purchase!!

      • Eric

I have done it 3 times and received the $25 x 3 credits posted days after my purchases. I believe GC will work as long as it’s not Smart And Final GC. I bought gas cards.

  9. mike

Not in Ca. Looks like Safeways acquirer is trying to bleed the stores. Maybe they think Ca is a stronger market..no deals here. 10 of 50 a jcp gift card only. I can’t believe anyone in Ca. shops safeway..way over priced, better prices nearly everywhere else.

    • Jessica

Mike, this is working here in CA. I have already done this deal twice. It works on the Sephora gift card too. That is for those who already clipped it. It’s gone now. The JCP is still working. There is a $10 off $50 instant savings and $10 off from Just4U.

    • PW

Confirming it works in CA. Purchased $50 JCP for $30 and $50 Sephora for $30 πŸ™‚

      • Eric

Where in CA are you? I am in NorCal. I don’t see it in weekly ads.

        • Jessica

          SF Bay Area

        • PW

In Norcal too. It is not in weekly ad but it does work, I did Sephora and JCP. Make sure you have jfu loaded and the other 10 will automatically come off, $30 for $50 gc.

          • Eric

            Thanks for the info.

  10. rama

Hi,We live in Texas. We have Randals, is it works in Randals ?

    • Linda

Yes, it works at Randall’s. I just used it today at my Randall’s in Katy.

  11. kristina

I had a $3 off $20 purchase offer in J4U. Wonder if I can combine with the gift card promo?

    • J

      No it will not

  12. S

darn no more sephora =( i was hoping to get a sephora one as well!

    • Nilo

      I just loaded.

      • S

Jealous! I’m double and triple checking it but no sephora here πŸ™

  13. Boo

I don’t get how you do this deal

    • TeresaAnn

did you get it? I’m not sure if I could have made it better but I decided to do it my way and went with the flow at the store lol..

Go to your Safeway App or get on the computer and load the (if you are doing the JCPenney that is like I did) $10 off $50 or more JCPenney gift card purchase. Once you swipe your card or put in your phone number at the register, that $10/$50 will come off. Plus an additional $10 Mothers Day Promo will come off and you will pay a final amount of $30.

Then go to JCPenney website and print the $10/$25 coupon. I have heard different stories of how many transactions you can use this with. I asked at the register and they allowed me 3. This might vary from different stores. There was a ton of Red Tag sales right now at my store (I see 40% to 70% off) so there was a lot to choose from on the racks or shelves. Lots are for cold weather but you can still find something for summer. Other summer clothes sales and some summer sandles are also 50% off.

I actually purchased the distressed jeans the model is wearing in the post lol. Along with 3 lightly sheer t-shirt tops…one pair of Bermuda’s and a pair of shorts. I paid a little out of pocket at the register on the 3rd transaction but Im happy! 3 summer outfits!

  14. D

If anyone has loaded a sephora coupon or JCP and won’t be using it,, please please let me use it. I have a teen that is starting to use makeup and it would help a lot, since it is so expensive Damdream9@msn.com
    Thank you

  15. radhika

is this a personalized offer? I don’t see this coupon.

  16. Meryl

OK please help! I *think* you can use a JCPenney GC online at Sephora. Does anybody know? I missed the Sephora but want to buy my mom perfume and it will ship free and earn 3x the points! Thx!!

    • shopper

JCP Sephora runs a different system than a regular Sephora..a JCP GC does not work at Sephora online or in a regular store.

      • Meryl

        thanks!!!

    • S

You can use jcpenny gc at sephora inside jcpenny

      • tomeryl

Thank you! Bummer as I am trying to avoid shipping.

  17. Delia

I don’t understand the logic of $15 oop in this post when you’ve already spent $30 in cold hard cash for the giftcard. I get that it’s theoretical but really not the actual reality of your out of pocket expense which is in fact $30. There’s a better way to stretch this offer.

    Here’s my breakdown:

    Spend $30, Get $50 GC

Transaction 1: Buy $35 of merch; Use the $10/$25 coupon to get your total down to $25 (this is to meet the required $25 threshold for Ibotta). Pay the $25 total with your Penney’s Giftcard. Submit receipt for $5 rebate
    Final price $20

Transaction 2: Buy $25 of merch; Use the $10/$25 coupon. Total $15 Pay using your giftcard. You’ll still have $10 left over on your card & you’ve bought $60 clothes for $30.

    Another option:

Transaction 2: Buy $35 of merch; Use the $10/$25 Pay $25 with your giftcard and you’ve now bought $70 in apparel for $30.

    • Eric

$30 out of pocket for $50 GC.

      #1: buy $35, use $10/$25 and get $5 ibotta
      Purchase: $35
      GC balance: $25
      Get Ibotta: $5
      #2: buy $25, use $10/$25.
      Purchase: $25
      GC balance: $10
      #3: Redeem GC balance $10. (should be a bit < $10)

      Out of pocket: $30 – $5 – $10 = ~ $15
      Purchase: $35 + $25 = $60

  18. Michelle

Thank you so much!! This worked perfectly at Vons! Just what I wanted to get my momma for Mother’s Day πŸ™‚

  19. lindak

Thanks, I’ll give this a try tomorrow at Tom Thumb in the Dallas area. I did have the coupon in my Just4U.

  20. Justina

wow! It’s $25final cost ($30 to purchase gift card, then you receive $5Ibotta back, so $25 final out of pocket)—-BUT you get $60 of merchandise—gift card purchases $50worth by itself–but you also use that $10/$25 coupon, so you take $60 of merchandise to the counter and use your gift card and the $10/$25 coupon
—-so $25FINAL COST for $60 OF MERCHANDISE
lol, couponers, our math is complex, lol

    • Justina

even better if you can split your JCP purchases into 2 transactions (I don’t see a limit of coupons per customer) you could end up with $70 of merchandise using a $10/$25 coupon in each of 2 transactions–BUT your final cost would be $30 because you would no longer qualify for the Ibotta rebate ($50 min purchase)—so this version would be final cost $30 for $70 of merchandise (like spend $5 more to get $10more of merchandise or in other words skip the Ibotta rebate in order to use a coupon that is worth more than the Ibotta rebate)

      • Justina

oops, lol, see complex: not a $50 Ibotta min—so you could still have $25 final cost, do 2 transactions, $70 of merchandise—then your Ibotta deal might even reload (sometimes mine do) and it might be $20final cost because you could submit the second receipt for a second $5rebate (just started using Ibotta a month back, not sure how the offer reloads work)

        • shopper

Ibotta’s in store rebate is for a $25 purchase (excludes gift cards), must purchase in one transaction. It does state one rebate per user.

The $50 rebate is usually for online only orders.

          • Justina

yup I caught that and corrected it in 20.1.1

  21. Shubh

For Amex offer …do we need to go to smart and final stores only and buy the giftcards…..is it not available online ?? or can we go to particular store whose giftcard we want like jcpenny ???

  22. Mattie

Wonderful deal!!! Totally loving it. Thanks Collin for helping my family save sooo much!!!

  23. Jocelyn

Can i buy 2 $50 jcp gift card and pay $60 for both?

    • lovedeals

No, you will pay $80. because it is buy $50 or more and get $10 off offer.

      • Jocelyn

Im confused! Im sorry! I thought if i buy $50 jcp gc ill get it for $30. Im just wondering if i can double this deal if i purchase 2 $50gc. When u bought urs how much did u pay?

        • Jessica

The Just4U offer is one per card. The in-store offer is one per trxn (per $50). You can only do this once on your card. If you want to do it again, you’ll have to use a family’s members Safeway card with offer clipped.

          • Jocelyn

Thanks so much!!! Now its all clear 😊

  24. lovedeals

Me and my 6 other friends bought gift card at safeway yesterday and worked perfectly. Thanks to you and your team for all the hard work.
Happy Mothers day to you Collin and everyone:)

  25. Crystal

Can the J4U coupon only be used once?

  26. Vanessa

Anyone know if they will let you do three transactions and get $75 worth of merchandise with 10/25 coupons?
    1 $25 worth of stuff -$10 =$15
    2 $25 worth of stuff -$10 =$15
    3 $25 worth of stuff -$10 =$15

    • Justina

I did not see any limitations printed on the coupon, so seems like you can.
I posted #20 if you use Ibotta, you might be able to get either
      $25 final cost, 1 transaction, 1 $10/$25coupon, 1Ibotta rebate, $60 of merchandise OR
$25 final cost, do 2 transactions, 2 $10/$25coupons, hope for an Ibotta reload, so 2 Ibottas, $70 of merchandise
yours would be $30 final cost, no Ibotta qualification, but $75 worth of merchandise–Lots of options, seems like print a few coupons, shop and find what you like, then figure out the best way to group your items for best value

  27. Lori

Made a special trip to do this today! Thank you so much. What a super deal!

  28. wendi

Hi I just wanted to say I was able to redeem this offer today. So I got one at $30 and the second one @ $40. I should have used someone else safeway card to get the extra $10 off. But for a newbie not too bad.

    • Wren

That’s great, Wendi! I’m going to go today too.
