Just FYI, you can click on “help” when you get to the Bricks coupon print screen and then type in your name and address so they mail you a coupon if you aren’t able to print from your tablet or other device. It doesn’t work with every Bricks coupon but I always click on Help to see if the mailing option is available.

    • jody

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know we could have these mailed!! My printer is broke & I’m always upset when I cannot print coupons LOL!!! And I am using this to donate to the humane society since my dogs are not on Purina! So I thank you and so do the shelter pups 😉

  2. adri

Isnt the question also if a coupon can be used on a free item?

    • Tobey

Dollar general manager pulled up an email sent to their store telling them not to accept the coupons because I would be getting it for free. They wouldn’t even let me use 1 coupon. She said no coupons at all on bogo sale items. So, I went to rite aid.

  3. Lisa

LOL! This deal sounds like one that my NIGHTMARES are made of. First of all, there is nothing addressing using 2 coupons on a BOGO free sale specifically in the DG coupon policy, so that will be the primary issue. And then to try to get overage, LOL, not worth the hassle at my store, that’s for sure!

    • Michelle

Why not just get 4 bags and pay $1.50 for all? That way it shouldn’t be such an issue and no overage to worry about…

    • Lisa

Oh, and registers at Wal-Mart do not accept a coupon on a BOGO sale either.

      • bethwalgreens

You can ad match DG’s ad at Walmart. Because there is a price listed. Walmart will just change the price of each bag to $2.87 each. Then you can use two $5/1 coupons. for a total of $4.24 in overage. May be best to just use them at Walmart. Since they have the Walmart logo they are likely to go thru smoothly with out beeps.

        • Geo

I just asked 3 different people at Wal-Mart and they all said no to price matching on this one.

          • bethwalgreens

Simply pull up Walmart’s coupon policy on your phone. In my experience most cashiers are uneducated on the policy. Walmart’s coupon policy states that when a price is listed on a bogo free sale it can be price matched. I would not ask an employee. It is their policy. I would simply get the product, and check out, and as is also walmarts policy…ask for the price match at the register. They may be confused. That is when you let them know the easiest way is to take the printed price $5.75, and divide it by 50% then change each item to $2.87. 🙂

    • Amanda

I just want to put it out there for anyone who might not be aware of current class action lawsuits that have been filed under Beneful Dog food b/c of it making the dogs either very ill or in some cases resulted in death. There are several toxic ingredients in Beneful that Purina(the company that manufactures the food)won’t take out unless forced by the FDA. I just don’t want this to happen to any of your beloved ani mals so I wanted to post this before you made the purchase.

      • Heather

Our Lab had a horrible reaction to Beneful. Never buying it again.

      • D

Yes everyone has seen the hundreds of comments posted about this every time Collin posts a purina coupon….

        • paula

I just do not understand how the SAME dog food can make some dogs sick or kill them but yet my 4 dogs are not affected at all and LOVE this food? Makes no sense to me. I can understand maybe a allergic reaction because one of my labs has allergies but don’t you risk that with any dog food? The whole thing does not make sense to me. I have been stocking up with the great price at Target and now can get even better deal. This helps our single family income out a GREAT deal. THANK YOU again Collin and team!

          • Jess

Well said Paula. You risk that with any food you give to your pet. Even if it says all natural, no by products, whatever. It can still contain contaminants in any form. I am tired of the comments about Purina, EVERY time it is posted. I have bought this for my 2 lb baby since she was weened. She can’t have anything else, she gets extremely sick. Even the much higher ($) I bought from Pet’s Mart. What works for some might not work for others, and I truly believe its not that Purina is bad. Ok rant over ! 🙂 thanks for the wonderful coupon. Love free !!

        • CW

It killed my parents dog and 2 of 4 of my friends’ dogs. I regret every coupon and cheap or free bag of food I got my parents’ dog. It wasn’t worth his death or the grief my family is going through.

      • Kara

Well if that is the case, be sure to avoid Diamond Pet Food (ex. Natural Balance). They were part of a class action lawsuit for causing illness and death among pets. Reality is most companies face lawsuits. No pet food is going to be guaranteed safe because they do not have to follow the same protocols as they would if it was for human consummation.
I do feed my dog this and I have for 10 yrs. She is now 13 and the vet said for her age she is in the best health that she has ever seen.

        • Amanda

I will Kara, thanks for the heads up. I’m sorry that some of you just don’t understand but for me personally, once I hear of something that is tainted or has a lawsuit against it for(in this case killing over 3,000 dogs)harming an innocent victim,I stear clear of that company. The welfare of my family is far more important than getting a free or reduced priced item. Jes,that’s wonderful that you’re dog has not gotten sick from this food, but to say that Purina is not a bad company is a bit of a stretch. Read up on them sometime and then let me know. They are owned by Nestle, where the CEO there has been on record saying that he does not believe that society(you and me)deserves to have clean drinking water. He is the 1%,they believe that they are the only deserving whatever you want to call them that should have access to amentities like that. Until people really start boycotting these companies for the evil that they are doing to us and the land, they will keep poisoning us. Monsanto with pesticides,GMO’d food, companies like Nestle with all the crap that’s in the processed food that we eat and giving us things like cancer and any number of other diseases that are on the rise. RISE UP people,it’s all happening right now and all you care about is a free bag of dog food or a coupon for 1.00 off a frozen pizza with highly processed meats and cheeses on it!!

  4. Lisa

    Michelle,

I wouldn’t because I don’t even have a dog, nor a shelter within 45 minutes to donate to.

    • Lynn l

If you had coupons and as I don’t have a printer right now, I’d be happy to take them off your hands lol. lynn1015@bellsouth.net

      • Heidi

        I e-mailed you!

        • Lynn l

          Thanks for your response Heidi!

  5. ashlynn

    The b1g1 I’d only Thursday – Saturday may 21-23

    • Geo

That’s what the post says too

  6. Kevin Martin

The purina benful healthy smile dog snacks ar 3.98 at my Walmart and the 5.00 coupon works making it a 4.08 overage before tax

    • Geo

      It worked on those??? Awesome!

    • Geo

I don’t see how you are calculating your overage but I’m surprised the coupon works on the healthy smiles. Your math = $5 coupon – $3.98 = $1.02 overage before tax.

      • Kevin Martin

Using four coupons sorry that it was not posted earlier

        • Geo

So… you haven’t gone and done this then have you? This is just what you plan to do?

          • Kevin Martin

Right when Ieft Walmart I posted this. The coupon went through perfectly no beeps at all. I did the deal at Walmart already

            • jessica

Just because it didn’t beep doesn’t mean it was used correctly, most don’t beep when used incorrectly. You used the coupon for dog snacks when it clearly states dog food. Unfortunately the cashier didn’t catch it

    • Nick

Dog snacks DO NOT equal dog food. Collin would tell you the same thing. Using a coupon on an item it’s not intended for is fraud and punishable by law. It’s a form of theft.

      • Kevin Martin

The coupon says that it is on any bag of purina benful. It does specify that it has to be dog food

        • Amanda

Correction. It says on any one bag of Purina benefit DRY DOG FOOD…. so apparently you like committing fraud… big blow for us legit couponers.

          • Amanda

            Beneful

            • 5pink1blue

Yup just printed : “any one (1) bag of Purina Beneful OR Purina ONE Dry Dog Food”

      • Kristen

        Lol…

  7. Sarah

    Would this work?
Do the deal on Saturday buy ten bags buy one get one free
    5 bags = $28.75
    Use the 5 off 25 DG coupon = 23.75
    Use 5 of the 5/1 coupons -25.00
    Leaves you a 1.25 overage

    • Geo

In a perfect world.. yes.. but in my experience the dollar General $5/$25 coupon does not work well with other coupons and ends up taking off a percentage off each item and thus never takes off the full $5. (This is also the case with any of their $2/$10, $5/30, $5/25, etc type coupons). Good luck!

      • Kristen

Amen! Only in a perfect world haha..DG+coupons= NIGHTMARE

      • Claudia

I learned that today! I went to do this deal and it only took 2.75 out of one bag and .74 cents out of another bag giving me only a 2.32 overage to cover the rest of the items. Thank god I picked items to redeem with Ibotta. I had to pay 3.14 and got 5 back from Ibotta including a bonus.

        • Joe C

Same thing happened to me! I tried to discuss it with the cashier to see why it wasn’t BOGO, but she was an idiot and there was a huge line of people. Ugh!

    • Sarah

      Agreed. Thank you.

  8. jami

Also if you have a Price Chopper near you..NY, VT, MA, NH has it on sale this week for 2/$10 also

  9. Kevin

Off topic but does anyone know how the fuel points at Kroger/ Ralph’s/ affiliate stores work for gift cards. I alway see the sign that say 20 cents (200 points) fuel points for $100 gift card purchase (which is essentially 2x fuel points) If I were to buy a $25 gift card, how many points would I earn? 0,25 or 50 points? thanks

    • jim beam

gift cards in general, not including kroger brand gift cards, earn 2x fuel points every day. ie: a $100 gift card (once again not kroger brand) would earn 200 fuel points.

  10. Jess

Does anyone know the zip code to pull this coupon up on coupons.com without clicking on the link?

    • Stscy

It’s a Bricks coupon, cannot be found on Coupons.com.

  11. Leen Grais

I hate DG in my area they sucks and soooo not coupon friendly they always say wont scan cant take it or if it has wm or any other store on the q they wont take it

  12. Carrie

I hope everyone has better luck than me. I got two bags of food and two coke 12 packs. My total came to 10.05, then, when she took off both coupons, I still owed $4. I tried taking off the cokes, and it still said I owed $3. Apparently, looking at my receipt, using the coupons affected the price of the dog food. One rang up at half off and one rang up at .74 off.

    • Geo

Same here. I hate Dollar General. Apparently if you use coupons with their sales then their sales don’t work as listed even though there aren’t exclusions it exceptions listed. I’m going back for a $5 refund. The sake is not Buy 1 Get 1 50% off (which is what rang up)…it’s buy 1 get 1 free.

    • Claudia

The same thing happened to me today. It was only my first time using coupons to get a free item. I had taken 5 other $1 items for the overage and to one oop 1.05 or something. I had to pay 3.14 ugh. I will never try this again in a sale because they don’t ring up as it should. Thank god I don’t shop at Walmart otherwise that would of been another hassle.

  13. jim beam

just got back from walmart. another nightmare trip.
    1) the cashier looked at the dg ad, acknowledged a price listed for the bogo deal and then stated walmart doesn’t price match bogo offers. i said yes they do.
    2) another person came over, said since the price was listed, ok to ad match. it was rung up as such: $5.48 for bag1, $5.48 for bag2, $5.48 vendor coupon (not a physical coupon)
    3) then i tried to use coupons. i was told walmart doesn’t allow the use of coupons in conjunction with an ad match
    4) then i spoke to an assistant manger. went off and looked at the policy. came back and stated yes i can use coupons in general in conjunction with a bogo ad match. but stated i could only use 1 coupon on the buy item, no coupons on the “free” item. i acknowledged what he was stating. i asked him to show me the policy. he shows me the section of the policy that states one manufacturer coupon per item. i ask him if he is interpreting the policy or if it specifically states no coupon on a “free” item somewhere. he proceeds to raise his voice as if he is talking to everyone else who is watching this take place and begins repeating a statement in which he states i can use a second coupon if i purchase 2 more bags. regardless of what i say or ask him he continues to repeat this loudly..? i call him on it. he stops. i point out the way the items were rung up and the use of a vendor coupon to cancel out the cost of the second item and ask if this is the correct way for it to be done. i am advised it is.
    5) i leave the store and call 1800walmart from the car. the csr states the way it should be rung up is $5.47 for item1, $0.01 for item2. she speaks to the store on my behalf and is told that i was already told the way the transaction is going to happen. she gets back on the line with me. she tells me she advised the proper way to ring up the transaction but was told by the store they are going to proceed contrary to what she said. she recommends purchasing the items and prompting for contact from store management afterwards since it’s only a 3 day sale.
    6) i walk back into walmart and speak with the associate the csr spoke with. she proceeds to ring up the bags as advised by the csr ($5.47 bag1, $0.01 bag2, $5.47 bag3, $0.01 bag4). i state i would like to use a coupon on each bag. she says only able to use 2 $5 manufacturer coupons.
    7) i provide my info and request to be contacted by the store manager.

    • Christy

This similar thing happened to me the other day at the Searcy, AR Walmart. I was trying to price match some rugs and towels from the WALMART online app and the head manager on duty insisted that they were not going to match it even though their policy said otherwise. He made me feel like scum for trying to price match. He tried to take my phone out of my hand and I asked him not to, and then he got very defensive. I called Walmart head office and reported him. Then played phone tag with the “acting” store manager since the current one was either fired or quit. I finally just gave up. It wasn’t worth the hassle.

  14. Jane

This didn’t work for me at DG. After taking off the two $5 off coupons, the DG discount for the free bag was deleted. It cost me $1.50 for the 2 bags. I realized after I left that I should have just used 1 $5 coupon and then I might have only paid .75 for one.

    • Justina

yes, people are having all kinds of unexpected transactions because they are using 2 coupons on 2 bags AND many are trying to use the $5/$25 too—if the transaction is all Beneful and the Beneful coupons cover that then seems that any $5/$25 discount attached to the Beneful part of the transaction is forfeited—-it’s like the computer is saying that people are stacking too many coupons, only 1 per 2 bags should be used for the smoothest transaction.

  15. cheapcheapgoesthemommy

Family dollar website has this coupon with NO walmart logo now available but it says must purchase 13lb size. that Walmart logo is like the plague and when I try to give those coupons with their logo to other stores they won’t accept them (even though they are manf.). Yet another reason I hate walmart! stop putting your logo on almost EVERY coupon!!

  16. Melissa lohrey

It’s a 3 day sale at Dollar General today they sat I was able to purchase 4 bags for $1.50 Great deal.

  17. Monica

The DG at my corner tried to tell me that I had to buy 2 to get 1 free, she said because it says on the side of the add that you must buy 2 to get the discount. I explained what buy 1 get 1 free meant and she said “well that’s how they get you”, I let her know that, that is not correct and I would like to have the sale price, then she said the coupon would not work because it also says that no other discount will be added to the sale price. I had a very hard time with them, but will go back with another time, after work maybe there will be another person there.

    • Justina

maybe have them scan each bag into a transaction, when things go like that, I just say, I’m confused, how about we just scan the 2 and see what the register says, ok, now let’s try scanning the coupon and see what happens—I had to say something like this today, she was trying to do all kinds of weird stuff with my transaction, I had to be like hold on let’s depend on the register

  18. Brandi

My local DG made me so mad.. They were trying to charge me $5.24 for 2 bags. They told me the coupon comes off before their ad price does and wouldnt honor my coupons. I call home office to ask their coupon policy.. they told me they would have to contact the DM to my local store.. I tried to tell them this isnt a DM coupon policy its their store policy.. thats ok though FoodLion has the same bags on sale for $4.99 and will give you the 1 cent overage on your order…

  19. Amy Stotts

I went today and did this, using the overage on some cookie sheets I needed, but when I looked at my receipt tonight, it only has $2.48 off of the 2nd bag, so BOGO 1/2 off in other words. I don’t know what’s up with that, but I guess it means another trip to the shopping plaza tomorrow.

    • Justina

mine show the like 2.78 off under Each One (they do like Food Lion does on b1g1, they change the price to half on each)

  20. Michelle

FoodLion grocery store has their Bentiful bags on sale for $4.99 – $5 coupon and it’s free (did this deal yesterday)
