    Got it!! Thanks so much!

Be aware of the print cost before you buy…per the reviews on trade websites, it’s 6 to 7.25 cents per page black & white and 9 to 10 cents per color page (excludes paper cost), which is very expensive. I like to keep around a penny and a half or less per page color or full text page. With my coupon and school print load, if I were to use this printer, this printer would cost me close to $100 a month in ink cost.

    • Whitney

The printer does come with a black and color ink. If you just look at it that way you’re only paying $9 for two full size inks.

      • Jenn N

that was my though exactly!!! Got mine

      • jessica

I thought only starter cartridges came with them

    • rachel

I refill my own cartridge.i buy the ink from amazon and watch YouTube on how to refill your own cartridge.works great with coupons.i paid under $20 fpr 6 bottles of black and colored ink last year and I only used like 1/4 of the black bottle and 1/4 of the colored4

    • Andrea

That was a great point. This printer uses the same ink cartridges has my current printer so I ordered just for the ink

How does the cash back 2-5% work? I don’t see it.

    • Whitney

You just put in your staples reward account and it’ll automatically get added onto your account.

      • Guest2

        Put it in where?

        • Olga

Apparently if you sign in as your self at staples.com to checkout then you are all set? But in my account, when I log in, I can see my rewards number, but have not gotten anything back 🙁 bought a printer 3 months ago, it says that in my history at staples.com, but also states that I earned $0.00! in cash back. Purchased some office aupplies locally as well, but those have not been recorded at all. Not aure what’s wrong.

          • shopper

Olga, you’ll need to call Staples and see what’s happening with your account – possibly the rewards expired, not a qualifying purchase, reward number not entered correctly at checkout (or may not be attched) or instore not entered etc.

I’ve been a member for years and mine works as it should.

  7. Laura

    Not wireless or eprint

    • Guest1

Thank goodness! All I need is a basic printer that works without all the bells and whistles.

  8. Rozz

Got mine, my daughter needed this for college. Thank you so much!!

  9. Guest3

What type of USB cord do you have to buy for this?

  10. Bill

I don’t generally have good luck with HP Printers but this is a good deal
and Staples usually does a good job with rebates so I pulled the plug!
Remember to log in as a Staples member to get free shipping, you can do an ez rebate submission online or mail and don’t forget to add sales tax if you’re in a tax state.

Ok so normally I would have been like pffft ink… not even worth the 8.99… Since I have been in love with our toner printer (the brother mono one that we picked up as a deal several years ago when they used to run them 29.99 quite often). I can say that ink sucks compared to toner and so much more expensive… Walgreens used to always have coupons to have ink refilled and we would do that, but most do not refill the inks anymore and I was fed up with office max when getting the refills and Id get home and the printer would reject them… High yield toner is the way to go… its about 50-70 for a high yield toner (the manufacturer ones) but even printing a ton of coupons and other things, it will last for about 8 months and if your coupons get damp wet from kids spilling stuff, they can just dry and bar codes and coupon are still readable and scanable. I have used the off brand ones from sites online where the more you buy the cheaper and literally paid 24.99 per high yield for 4. They lasted just about as long give or take a month and I saw no difference in the print quality. THE ONLY PROBLEM… When you need to print something in color… So I must say for 8.99 for the fact that my kids will need to print in color for school projects, etc. It is well worth the occasional print that needs to be in color. You wouldn’t be able to pick up a used one for this price!

Laser printers are the best for people who print a LOT , even though the initial cost is higher!

    • Agata

i bought a laser printer when it was on sale for 99 instead of +200. it came with a trial size cartridge which lasted good 5 months. I then ordered off brand cartridges ( with great reviews on amazon) which were 2 for $35. I have placed the first one in 6 months ago and i still have plenty left! Oh and I print coupons like every other day and papers and articles for classes almost daily. The best investment ever!

I’ve been looking for a super basic printer for awhile now. This seems like a perfect deal especially since I don’t print too much. Hopefully this printer lasts awhile.

    • libby

I actually have this model, I’ve had it for 2 years and it works great

  14. Cheryl

THANKS…GREAT GRADUATION GIFT FOR MY NIECE WHO GRADUATES IN 1.5 HOURS!!!

    • 1luv

Be careful, a lot of ppl like to print wireless nowadays…using their phone, iPad, tablets, etc. This one doesn’t do that.

      • Laura

        My thought exactly

  15. kevin

if i buy 2, how do i do the rebate? do i need to buy 2 in separate transactions or can i buy both in one transaction and submit 2 rebates?

  16. Jocelyn

Can this be used wi fi?

    • Laura

No wifi. USB cable only – boo – not for me

  17. ashley

seems as though the price went up to $29.99, good thing I added it to my cart before the price went up!

    • Kevin

it’s still 18.99 once you add it to your cart. I just tried it.

  18. Mrs.m

Signed in and it still won’t give me free shipping.

    • Kevin

are you sure your staples rewards is on your account?

      • Mrs.m

Yes, I’ve even signed in and out and cleared my cart and added it back, nothing is working.

  19. Suzanne

Super easy! And I immediately did the rebate after I got more order number. Thanks Collin =)

  20. Kickstart

I HAVE to pick it up at my store. Its says unavailable for delivery, even when I manually changed at checkout for Southern California.

    • jamie

Where are you located? I was able to get delivery in menifee, ca.

  21. Melissa

Thank you! Just bought it for the ink cartridges. Now I have to figure out what to do with the printer….

    • Lori D

You could always donate it to a local charity or even sell it on Craigslist 🙂

  22. karen

out of stock. was available at my store though.

  23. Lori D

Red button says out of stock, but if you notice if you put your nearest location, it will tell you your local stores inventory. I ordered mine (it said out of stock, but stores inventory said 8). SUPER deal! Thank You SO much!

  24. Delilah

At store pick up after buying this online, they said they has a promotion going on for when you choose store pick up for online purchases and I got a free pack of Memo pads and a 4 pack of pen! Making this printer nearly free! Whoot!
