forgot to set alarm last night. Closest 3 driving distance by me are all full…so crazy.

    • Ashlyn

That is crazy! I’m not 100 percent sure yours will, but for the last build ours was full, but had at least one extra box for drop ins. You could at least try it day of the build. 😀

Not at the closest 2 near me. They both require the waiver forms 🙁 The Home Depot ones are much more lax and people are actually much more friendlier. It’s just this Marvel thing that’s catchy for my boys, otherwise I wouldn’t even bother lol

        • Ashlyn

That’s a bummer! Ours always has extra waiver forms for people that don’t sign up or forget theirs. There are still 60 spots at the one by me though, so people aren’t as on top of it around here. Lol

Make sure to be there on time! I went at 10:30 this weekend and they gave them all out even after I signed up!

    • Rebecca

It does say they’ll only hold them for 10 minutes…

    • cbeths

Yep. My registration sheet said they will only hold your kit for 15 past the designated time.

    • Brittany

Yes I guess I will have to get there on time for now on! We have never had this lol I have gone at 11 before and now problems:) I think it’s because of the Avengers

It was nuts at mine this past week—one mama was screaming at 10:16 to “release the kits” to people who hadn’t signed up (like it says on the registration sheet–kits given away starting at 10:15 if you are registered but not there). I was amazed at the ridiculousness over a free wooden toy.

Mine is never crazy but this past one was insane! I had to wait in line at 10 on the dot for 15 minutes because there were so many people and they had 2 people working it. Usually only 1 working. It is never like that! Maybe it’s all the hype cuz it’s avengers?

    • Nicole

I would like to think that it was the Avengers bringing so many more people out, but I’m starting to fear that for my location the # of people is just growing greatly. Up until the middle of this year, I could get there up to 10:30 and still get our kits. The past few times it wasn’t so. We got there about 10:10 Saturday and they were almost out and I always register.

We did the Captain American craft this past weekend. It was so difficult! Pieces kept breaking, nails kept bending – small pieces were too hard for little hands. No idea how a child could assemble that, even with help. We had two parents and 3 kids, and it was terrible. I love these clinics but we are going to wait until the assembly gets a bit easier.

    • cbeths

I definitely had the same trouble. I broke two pieces trying. I finally gave up and brought the kit home for my husband to help. I told him this was a “daddy project.” haha.

    • Ashlyn

Same problem here! They had glue out at the build and just about everybody was up using it at some point. It was a bit of a disappointment, but it did end up looking pretty good at the end and my little man was happy. 😀

    • Nicole

Same for me too. One nail bent and I spent over 10 minutes trying to get it back out of the wood – especially since I knew that they had no extra kits for us to start over. In the end, we took our pieces home for dad to work on.

One poor mom had 3 kids – all of the kids were having trouble and crying. Right after I said aloud “let’s finish this at home,” the other mom repeated it.

Thanks for the heads up to register! How do y’all know when to register if not for the post?

    • Rebecca

It says on the site when you can register for upcoming clinics. It’s almost always the Monday after the previous clinic, at midnight est.

  7. ShellyB

before, people that show up without register, they made them wait , now they don’t care, so what its the point to register on time. Two families in front of me this past saturday, were no register with 3 and 4 kids each, and they got kits….no fair.

Is there anyone who happens to have an ironman kit they didnt use from the first clinic i could have or would someone be willing to check with their local lowes to see if they have any left over? I would pay shipping and a small amount for your time my son really wants one and unfortunately he hadnt made it here for summer until the sunday after the clinic. Please and thank you

    • Rebecca

You should be able to find it on ebay. Also you could try calling your store & asking. My son has missed 2 over the years & I was able to pick up a kit they had left over.

      • tiffany

Thanks for the ideas. I checked with my two local stores and they said they donated the leftovers and they r going for $50 plus on ebay. Thats just not in my budget. Oh well
