Where can I find the list of qualifying items?

    • Erica

Tried DG website and all I received was an error message!

    • Atlanta

It’s in the weekly ad. You can get it in the store, on the app, or in the Sunday paper of you bought one.

      • Erica

        Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. sara

My store only had 4 boxes so I got those and 1 regular sized box of tampax at $3.25 and it worked. So I got 4 free and paid $2.25 for a full sized box.

  3. jessKa

They have some great deals. Charmin.. olay..downy..tide.

    • Erica

List? I cannot find a participating item list!

  4. Kate

Did this yesterday at the 6 stores on my route home. 40 packs total. They actually come out to .05/5 packs if you don’t buy other items.

    • jessie

Is there a reason why you needed so many? Geesh.

      • Shiela

Ikr… But I think she uses that stuff and when it’s free she just took advantage of it. I also do that everytime there are free products like kotex liners/pads because that’s what I always use. I might also try getting tampons to donate as I don’t use them.

      • Whitney

There are only 3 per box, so really not that many

      • Maile

I would imagine it’s because they’re free and will be used or donated.

        • Tara Murray (@stpatty3172000)

          Great donation items!

      • Yoli

As if a law was broken SMH!!. Smart thinking Jesse. Great way to stock up on FREE items, donated or for personal use; too good of a deal to not hit every store in sight. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

        • Casey

I agree, sort of, but things like that ruin the deal for other people.

          • Laura

I agree Casey. I’m all for great deals and taking advantage but geesh!! Let others have an opportunity as well. I’m also for donating… But let other couponers take advantage of deals before u buy out the whole town.

        • Yoli

I didn’t mean “smart thinking Jesse” oops lol. I meant “smart thinking KATE”.

      • Kim

It’s not like she bought them all at one store. Each box only has three tampons. So 5 boxes would only be 15 tampons. Depending on your cycle, that might not even last a month. Plus, she may have teen daughters too.

        • Erica

Well said! All the haters need to quit hating ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Denelleelaine

If you’re like me I’m only 21 that means I have at least 20-30 years left of periods. Why would I want to pay FP for tampons or pads when I can get them for free… Come on now.

      • Kasey

With there only being 3 per pack, 40 packs would only get some women through a few cycles especially if they change tampons frequently or have a long cycle. I like to have a stockpile built up to last me more than a few months. I’m sure Kate and lots of other women on here do to. I would definitely pick up this many if I had several stores in my area like she does!

        • Donna

As long as they have plenty in stock. i would not clear the shelves but would leave some for other people, as well.

        • Yoli

Kim, Erica and Kasey ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ. Ppl need to relax. Some act as if they wouldn’t or even haven’t done the same. It’s 3 to a pack come on now, what she got is equivalent to a regular pack- maybeee two. There’s other ways to save on this deal, buy other items!! And not like she lives in your same town ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜.

        • Jaazy

How does this deal work if in the ad it shows 16-18 count for the tampons… I’m just curious.

    • Jazzy

How does this deal work if the ad states it has to be 16-18ct. The pic on here has only 3 in a pack just curious.

I am a bit Leary to use coupons at Dollar General! I have issues everytime. I was told by management that you could not use coupon if it made item free. I once picked up a bottle
of sha!poo that was on sale for $2 with a $2 coupon attached to bottle. Would not let me have it and made me feel like I was a lowlife trying to scam them! Is this indeed their policy or a misunderstanding of their policy on part of management?

    • Erica

I have the same question… Also how many of each can you purchase for free? example: 10 boxes of $1 tampons = ???? Do you only get $5 off each 5 in a transaction? Help lol

  6. NJD

Can you use manufacturer coupons with this too?

    • Amber

I don’t personally know of any that qualify for the 3pk. But if it’s a larger one a coupon should work.

    • Erica

Ty ty ty โ™กโ™กโ™ก it works!

      • Courtney

No problem. I’m glad it works!

    • Ryan

Thanks for posting – that worked great!!

  7. Georgianna Berryman

Worked for me at 2 different stores yesterday. What it does is it takes $0.99 of each pack that is priced $1 which makes the total $0.05. You could get 10 packs for $0.10 but, I doubt they will have 10 packs on the shelves.

  8. Arianne

I bought three $1 packs of the tampons and two $1 packs of the Always Infinity pads (as listed in the link above) but the promo didn’t work. ๐Ÿ™ FYI!

    • Erica

Hmmmm did h try to get them to “push” u thru?

    • Atlanta

Didn’t work for me either. But I did score two really cute skirts for $10 ($5 each)! Summer clothing is buy one get one free. These actually seem to be better quality than the Mossimo ones at Target. They are thicker too so not see through. Hopefully they don’t pill… we’ll see. I’m probably going back after work to get some workout clothes (two pairs of shorts and two tops for $15!)

  9. Kasi

To be honest, I got through 30-40 per period. So 6 boxes with only 3 in them is nothing lol.

    • Erica

Amen sista! Same here lol Us hipster’s are able to be so open and personal. I absolutely love it ๐Ÿ˜‰

      • Kasi

        Lol me too

        • jess

          Disgusting.

  10. Krispyk

Same here Arianne. I wonder why?

  11. curious

Has anyone tried the deal today. Wondering if it’s still working

    • Erica

Wondering the same? Maybe it was a glitch and they caught on?

      • Tabatha

Just did mine 5 minutes ago

  12. Jazzy

How does this work if in the add it states 16-18ct. And these are only 3ct that are listed in the pic.

  13. Tabatha

Very proud of my deal…Bought 3 small ones (all store had) then bought to large boxes of radiant Tampax the cost for those cost $4 each…Got up to cashier and each box had coupons for radiant purchase one for a $1 for buying one and one for $2 for buying two…so after using one $1 coupon and 1 $2 coupon ๐Ÿ™‚ My total for 2 full size boxes 16ct and 3 travel size packs I spent $3.45…..wooohooo

    • Tabatha

Also mine before even using the coupons only came to $6.45 which was better than what I came up with to begin with.

  14. Julie

Ladies you can have all the tampons you want because I don’t need them anymore. Enjoying this time in my life. Lol

    • Erica

      Funny!!!!!!

  15. nadia

    Sweet I’m trying it today

  16. Kyla

I tried this deal in Southern California today and it didn’t work. The deal was a 14 ct. + box for $4 not a 3ct. box for $1. The Tampax box in the dollar section did not qualify for the Buy 5 and save mix and match.
