Wow wish I lived closer to a Kmart!

    • mel

It’s more trouble than what it’s worth. Last time they doubled, I had a cashier who didn’t understand why the register was taking the coupons off twice, kept voiding and reringing my order. Another cashier came over to help and it was like the blind leading the blind. Told me I “couldn’t get things free”. I gave up and told them forget it. I had more in my order than groceries, they lost out on a $50+ clothing sale as well.

      • rebecca

i had a similar experience where my Shop Your Way rewards and coupons wouldn’t work, and TWO cashiers PLUS a manager voided my entire purchase and re-rang it THREE times! i was at that checkout for around 25 minutes to try and save. no fun with impatient kids and people building up in line behind you!
i thought exactly the same thing– blind leading the blind.

      • C

I had a very bad experience as well the last time I tried doubling my coupons. It was a complete nightmare. The cashier and manager was so rude to me. None of my coupons doubled and I was in line for over 30 minutes. I stop shopping at Kmart for months as a result.

      • Laura

I had the same experience Mel. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!!

    • Barb

True it can be a nightmare but if you go to a cashier with a brain it can be a great deal

      • molly

It’s the same way with the shop your way rewards program. If there’s a problem, they start making up crazy excuses and accusing me of messing it up! Lol, love to save a buck or two, but not worth the headache sometimes!

    • rosana

Yes is horrible even just to pick up an online order.

  2. AJ

Last week I tried using the $1/1 Any Glade Product coupon and it didn’t scan?

It kept beeping, that’s odd cuz I was able to use it at Target and Walmart just fine.

If anybody can try using those glade coupons at your Kmart this week, please tell me if it works for you or not.

  3. Cindy

I live in Northern California and did not get the catalina (the machine was working) and also the $5.00 CRT has an expiration date of 7/6.

  4. Sam

Anyone know if the little swimmers will count toward the $25 total?

    • Happymama

You mean for the $5 cat? I’m sure it will, it’s a Huggies product.

      • Sam

Actually, I mean for the coupons to double. Do you think it’s considered household, or should I get $25 of tens plus the swimmers? Thanks for your advice!

        • Happymama

I’m sure it is. I usually buy diapers and wipes when they offer the double coupons.

  5. Andrew

Both deal scenarios have the totals below $25.
I thought you needed $25 or more???

    • Atlanta

      That’s what I came to comment too…

    • holly

Yes, you need $25 worth. Also wanted to mention the Bic lighter coupon won’t double…it’s apparently considered tobacco.

  6. Colleen

I had the worst experience at Kmart the other day. Rack upon rack of clothing marked 40% off that rang up as full price and the manager told me it was “too bad” they ran out of room and put things on racks that had the wrong signage. I emailed corporate and got a non-sensical response back. It’s a shame because I like their clothing and generally have good luck with deals and Ship-to-Store. I was thinking of calling the customer service line tomorrow to talk to them about my experience. Does anyone have any tips for handling this type of complaint?

    • Michelle W

I would call corporate customer service to see what they say. The store isn’t following policy or law to purposely place things in the wrong place. If you don’t feel they will change, a call to Weights and Measures would be the next call. They regulate retail stores to make sure items are priced correctly and scales work properly etc.

  7. annie

my kmart will not take internet printed coupons. 🙁

    • Annie

Neither will mine. There was a time when I got great deals during double coupon weeks, but since they quit accepting Internet coupons, I no longer try to do the double deals.

    • Mumm

I feel you. Before mine closed the so called manager told me my B/W IPs were copied. She didn’t understand the concept of a B/W printer or printing in gray scale. She also had a habit of making up the rules as she went along or coming up with ridiculous reasons why things didn’t work that was about 2 years ago when it closed now the closest one is about 90 mins away and that one is a dirty, disorganized, understocked, registers that don’t work right hot mess.

  8. See

I always have a horrible experience every time I coupon at Kmart. If my coupon beeps and even if it is the correct product, they tell me the register can only take up to a certain amount of printables. What a lie! I did plenty of printables for the previous double coupon event and they took them fine. It is not a wonder why a lot of kmarts closed down. They always have horrible customer service.

    • rebecca

they have lied to me before as well. one time a manager was trying to help the cashier when my coupons wouldn’t work, and they told me i must not have spent enough for the sales tax to be high enough to allow the coupons! it made no sense at all!
and same about the printables; sometimes they will accept my printables, other times they tell me they cannot, and they make up random reasons why, even if it worked fine another day when i was there.

  9. Christine

My kmart will only double one coupon of same item:(

  10. rosana

I can say that kmart is worst than walmart, and i thought walmart was bad.

    • Mia

You are sooo right:-) I dont have Kmart close to me anymore and dont shop Walmart for last 2 years…And I dont miss them at all:-)

  11. Yolanda

My local store only accepts coupons from inserts or magazines YET these deals are pretty AWESOME to pass up!! I heart Kmart, lol!! PS, hope everyone had an amazing 4th of July : )

  12. Lacey

Tried this deal and had the absolute worst experience. Never again. It’s no wonder I don’t ever shop at Kmart.

  13. Ali

Kmart is smart to only offer double coupons about one a month. I think it takes me about a month to recover from the terrible experience the month prior to gain the strength to endure the utter incompetence once again.

I do hate Kmart and it’s culture of being unfriendly to couponers. BUT I also like getting stuff for dirt cheap…and I’ll keep going back.

    • Susan

I could have written this myself! Thanks for the laugh!

    • Happymama

      LOL. Exactly.

    • Becks

Haha. I agree! I usually pep talk myself prior to entering the building! After reading all the comments here though, it really makes me wonder…why does every Kmart have such unfriendly staff??? I’ve seriously only encountered about 3 employees EVER who were actually nice.

      • Ali

It must be a horrible place to work because every Kmart I’ve ever visited is dirty, and all the employees seem SO miserable.

It’s more depressing than Walmart. I’m not sure what a target does to make their stores, culture and employees seem more inviting, but it’s a completely different shopping experience there compared to the big K.

        • Gloria

It’s because Target treats their employees with respect. If you ever have worked at Walmart, then you would understand why people are so miserable there. Walmart only hires the minimum number of employees to get certain jobs done, where as Target invests in having enough employees. Target is also not open 24 hours, where as Walmart is. Night shift is horrible for retail. Just thought I’d let you know 🙂

  14. Asmith

Wow, I haven’t had too many problems except at my Kmart some registers don’t have a scanner and the poor cashier has to type in the number. Customer service truly makes a difference

  15. Susan

Lol at everyone’s shared terrible experiences! I can totally relate! I definitely have a love/hate relationship with Kmart. My Kmart knows me as a double couponer and tries just about everything to stop me from benefitting from their deals even though I follow ALL of their policies. It’s ALWAYS a hassle to coupon there. I’ve gotten to the point where I expect there to be a problem at check out and just smile anyway.

  16. Mumm

Crowdtap just ended a mod discussion involving Kmart and Sears interesting how this discussion mimics that of CT down to the percentage of those who have issues to those that have almost none.

    • Mia

Comments help people to know what they can expect at Kmart… If you dont like comments dont read them…simple as that:-)

      • Mumm

Wow what the heck. I was not complaining about the people here I was commenting on how these problems are being talked about other places too. Mia maybe you need to read what I said again.

        • Mia

sorry then I got you wrong…

  17. staceyque

Wow, last time I went to stock up on paper towels during double coupons, the shelves had been cleared out by rude couponers. The manager gave me a call personally when they were re-stocked and let me bring in 5 coupons for the paper towels and told the cashier to double them for me! I <3 my K-Mart!

    • Happymama

Wow, that’s great! Kudos to your Kmart manager! I had a very good experience last time which makes me feel the managers are listening!

  18. Diana

Love this! I do hate kmart but i havent had too much of a hassle with this. I have to pick up orders from all the free syw points anyways 🙂
And w/the $3 rcvd this w/e will make $25 worth of stuff less than $2! Awesome!!!

  19. Catie

If anyone purchases online with them, make sure you watch any returns carefully. I am on my 2nd battle (2nd transaction with this issue, to clarify) with them for not crediting my refund properly….

  20. Amy

Mine didn’t print the $5 coupon after u spent the $15 the last time this deal was offered. The fine print said it had to be after all coupons. Luckily I had gotten a lot more and even with double coupons I spent at least $15. They gave me a gift card. But the entire thing was a hassle 🙁

  21. j

do the 5 and 3 catalina roll ?

  22. jmfromOh

The main reason I ever go to Kmart is that its hardly ever crowded like Walmart, and I can spend more time looking at the whole store with ease. BUT, I won’t shop there unless I have coupons or there’s a good sale, because its too expensive. ALSO, I avoid shopping there during Holidays because the workers are especially RUDE to there customers, its like they WANT to be rude on purpose!

  23. greendaisy

I happen to agree about the not so friendly staff and I have had my fair share of hassles with couponing at Kmart. I have, however, been able to get lots of things on clearance over the year. They clearance their stock to get rid of it, unlike Walmart, who hardly has any clearance and it is never at cheap as Kmart can be. That’s why I shop at Kmart.

  24. jhnicole

I have never been to a Kmart superdoubles event.I have never had problems with picking up my online orders.I have one I need to pick up.I hope to get to superdoubles this time.

  25. erica

Last month they told me that they were not accepting manufatures cuponds….

  26. nic

Is this regional? I did not get the coupon and my store had no record of it in the ad

  27. Kelly

The employees at the service desk at my local Kmart are pretty great. It’s difficult if I try to go to a newer cashier, but that’s why I go to the service desk. They have gotten really good at online orders since I put them in *a lot*. That being said, Kmart’s system seems to have an issue with double coupon weeks. Half the time the coupons don’t double, but they tend to just ring it up as an additional coupon (at my Kmart) to get the right amount taken off.
