How are these different than a Roku? Better, worse?
In my opinion, the Fire stick streams better than the Roku. It doesn’t seem to have trouble with buffering – is that the right word? I also like the remote and the app better than Roku. We got it when it came out and was only $19 for a one day special. Totally worth the money.
How is this different than having an Xbox with all of these apps?

So if you have the fire stick it’s just a one time purchase abd you get access to all the shows and movies on Netflix, etc? Or just some of them?
Only if you have a Netflix, hulu, etc. Account. The stick is a,streaming device but you have to pay those companies for their service
You would need a netflix subscription to stream netflix content. If you have prime you can stream prime content at no additional charge.

Yes you would need a subscription to those different services. If you’re a prime member you can stream your prime content at no additional charge.

I have dish network and want to save money. Would this replace Dish?
We got rid of dish network after getting fire sticks. We have Netflix, Amazon prime, and Hulu subscriptions. We love our fire sticks and don’t miss dish network at all. Hulu has the current TV shows that we watch and Netflix and Amazon prime have lots of options as well. This saves lots of money!!
