   Mine showed $1.99 and I am not the primary account holder for Amazon Prime. Based on what other folks said, I tried it and hit the “buy with one click” button- it processed for FREE. My receipt shows a -$1.99 promo credit. HTH.

  I don’t know why it would work for me and not for others! Again, I didn’t know for sure that I wasn’t charged the$1.99 until my receipt was emailed to me. The promo was processed and I was charged $0.00. 😕

   Its called kindle first. It must be the primary acct holder and it has to be a kindle device or fire phone

  It can be any device, while I own 4 kindle fires we do not have wifi. So every month I always buy from my android on the amazon website.

   I was logged in, so it automatically told me to download free with 1-click. Downloaded it right to the Kindle app on my iPhone. Thank you! Some nice weekend reading.

    I tried but was charged $1.99 so if you aren’t the main account holder I don’t recommend trying to get it for free.

    If you have a prime membership, you can sign up for Kindle First emails and they will email you the free selections each month. There were a couple of months at the beginning of this year that they allowed you to get TWO free books for the month! I’ve been able to get so many great books this way!! I love it!!

    When did this start? Ive been a Prime member for over 2 years and didn’t know this! I have been borrowing a book monthly, but knew nothing about a free (to keep) book. Thanks! I wish I had known about this sooner.
