I just ordered one for each of my kids and one for me, 4 total. So excited to get confirmation that they are ready for pick up at my local store. Thank you! So excited to get them! Such an awesome deal! 🙂

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      You are so welcome! 🙂

  2. Val

On Ebates you get an additional 2% back and there is a 20% off code. I paid $8.54 and can pick it up later. Also, I was able to designate a school to receive 5%. Hopefully it is o.k. quality.

    • rose

Thanks for the heads up on the 20% off code. I received $2.00 off.

    • Just Me

      Thanks! I forget ebates sometimes

Could someone please tell me if this is a high quality backpack? I couldn’t find many reviews about it. If not, which is a good brand that will stand up to holding a lot of books for my son? TIA 🙂

    • Andrea

High sierra backpacks are awesome. Staples has them for around 50 but they have been $27 at Costco for a few weeks.

The other is FUL. My son has had it for two years and it looks new! It has a very thick plastic bottom and lots of back padding for comfort. Staples has them and I think they are around $70 before deals. Expensive but I bought ours for around $20 2 years ago during a sale.

      • April H

Thanks so much. It’s definitely worth it to get one that will last. I’ll check those brands out.

      • Christine

Are high Sierra and Swiss gear the same? We have the ful backpacks that we got during a rebate promotion and I agree those are really well built

  4. Kari

Warning : they only had about 5 in stock at my store when they opened. I bought 2. When I left they had only 1 left

      Thank you

Sweet, my son needed a new bookbag. His middle school requires that he bring a personal laptop to class and this will hopefully work perfect. Ordered with free store pickup.

    • Evan

Hi Meg My jr high is the sane way plus we no longer have lockers so they carry everything with them. Bought this backpack last yr & it’s still in decent shape for his freshman yr of HS in Aug. May but 1 for my 4th grade daughter too!

  7. Lillie

Can a college student use this?

    • Evan

      Hi
I bought one for my niece last yr & she said it was great!

    • rose

This is too small for a college student, but perfect for small kids.

It’s been a rough couponing morning for me! OfficeMax didn’t have anything signed… So I was wandering around trying to figure out which ones were the ones from the ad. And then I had people at dollar tree give me grief because the cashier couldn’t figure out how to do the 10% off coupon and they had to wait forever. Sigh.

    • Bunny

After several teeth wrenching scenarios at my local Dolkar Tree stores, I’ve stopped bringing coupons in there. They have to be the absolute worst place to use coupons. So I only go in there for cards and cleaning supplies when I need them. I personally try to avoid situations that I know in advance will be aggravating to me 😉

      • Ruthi

I’m so sorry to hear you had such bad experiences with Dollar Tree. We have one near us and one close to where my son works—–they have both been great to the point of calling us when they get things in they know we were looking for.

    • Maureen

The step by step instructions for the cashier were on the Dollar Tree coupon. Should have been easy for the cashier. Mine did it no problem, sorry you weren’t as lucky.

  9. Jodi

Thanks for sharing the promo code. Reviews are mixed on this for school use – my 8th grade has both a laptop and three ring binder. At this price however, it will be great for sports, overnights, etc.

  10. Joanne

I have a Office depot rewards thats $47.63 that I’d be willing to trade for $45..
    email tsangjoanne@aol.com if interested.

  11. K

Mine had at least 20 backpacks. Great couponing morning thanks to the extra papermate coupons in ad. (And extra papermate coupons in package)

  12. Coleen

    Those are really nice

  13. shirley

    5% cashback with Discover

  14. Prani

Thanks … Got one for 8.56 $ ( including tax)

  15. Christine

Contemplating if these are good buys after searching and reading reviews. Seems that these may not be as durable as other Swiss gear backpacks. I read the material is thin. I also read about some returning it as soon as they saw it upon pickup. Now, I’m not sure if I should get any 🙁

    • Inda

Online order for store pickup was canceled.

  16. Yar

    Too small!😔
I just came back from the store empty handed! I need it for my HS Teen! Yes good material, but way too small, good size for elementary or if your load is small! Lap top pocket only goes half way up!

  17. anna

Also code 20% 54045238 I bought 3 in separate orders using 3 different codes

  18. Kim

I just ordered one as a back up backpack for my son this year. I was going to order this morning but didn’t have time before church. Thank goodness, because now I got to use the 20% off code and got it for just $8.68 + 2% cashback for using Ebates. Great deal, thanks!!

  19. casey

For me I checked out this backpack at the stor n it looks like its not sturdy enough to hold a lot of books

  20. Lyubov

I got one last year for my daughter for 2nd grade, it was perfect! She only carried a folder and a few children books, so there was still extra room in it, so its definitely a good size I’d say:) also, its very durable! Thinking to use it again this year, if not for school then for trips or other use.
I went through shopathome.com, paid $8.52 with tax after the 20% off code, and I will also be getting 5% off for choosing a school, and also the 2.5% from shopathome.com, so it will turn out being less than $8 for me after the cashback and discounts! Thank you, Collin! you are awesome!

  21. Jucole07

How do you get it for $8 because when I put the discount code it came up to $27.99

    • nicolegammeter

The backpacks were on sale for $10, but the price went up. 🙁

  22. RUDY

The deal is still live but you have to call the office depot number give them the backpack item number online, just tell them you are trying to make a purchase but the price changed, that’s what I did and the lady honored the price and I did store pickup. THEY ARE AWARE OF THE GLITCH IN THEIR ONLINE SYSTEM AND THEY WILL HONOR THE PRICE

  23. Lillie Wirt

The ad for the Swiss Gear pack came out in the Sunday paper, I was one of the first ones in the Home Depot Store on Monday. There weren’t any in the store and the person thought they sold them all but couldn’t get any confirmation that there any. This was very disappointing. I wasn’t aware that there was a coupon but it didn’t matter, I had planned to spend the $10 for each of four. One for each of my twin grandsons and their mom and me. Most disappointing.
