A hard drive is a storage device. Instead of being in the computer, this attaches by usb and has a larger capacity than a traditional internal hard drive.
It’s a huge place to store things like movies pictures work files ect much much bigger then USB drive. For example you could store all your kids/ family photos in one place instead of multiple cards
I actually use it to back up my computer that way if anything happens, I won’t lose my files! I bought a 1TB at Walmart on sale for 60 so this is a GREAT deal!

I have this and love it! Good price, my 1Tb was $80 at costco. If you have a Mac make sure you reformat it before saving everything bc reformatting wipes out the content! Also im not sure if you can partition this one to save things from windows & a mac?
Thank you!! My 8 year old 250gig is getting close to be being full. Haha! That was huge back then. Just wait another 8 years. Our daughter’s entire life is on it, so now I can use this and our current external as a backup. Yes, my backups have backups. Never, ever save your cherished items on a computer without having it backed up. Never.
