Does anyone know of any stores that have good prices on school supplies online with free shipping? Oh and ship APO? I just looked at the px and the list for my kindergartener is almost $40. Glue sticks are $1.79 for two little ones 🙁 by Collins price points my list is half that.

Have a family member buy and ship? Post office has a special flat rate box for APO

    Have you checked Amazon?

I hope some people are finding deals because I sure haven’t! Staples has been out of almost EVERYTHING that’s been on sale and office depot is in the middle of a personal road rage area, so I avoid it, at all costs. I would rather over pay anywhere else than drive through every moron in town!

Walmart & Target will price match items except for the store brand items.

Does anyone know if they take expired rewards

    • Kimberly

I’ve read somewhere that if you call customer service they will reissue the rewards. It’s worth a shot. 😀

The one subject notebooks are 17¢ at my Wal-Mart, picked up a whole box for a tad over $3. I’m not sure if there is a quality difference but I’ve been using Wal-Mart brand since I was a kid all the way through college and now my kids use them. They work well.

I am so annoyed. My girl’s school asks for certain name brands for all of their supplies. I cannot catch a break!

    • Ana

Yes but unless they go to a private school, they can’t force you to buy name brand stuff. I live in a very well off school district and they put down name brand stuff but it’s just a suggestion. Parents all buy different brands and the schools never complain.

    • Tess

Agreed! Unless she goes to a private school – buy whatever is the best deal!
Luckily brands like Crayola are at their lowest prices.

My school asked for specific brand markers, pencils, and scissors. I have to say that I completely understand the request for Crayola markers…. I have tried the name brand ones in the past and I spent more money replacing them (dry) than if I had grabbed a deal on crayola. I opted for the .25 scissors instead of the ones the list required be cause I know that they will be my daughter’daughter’s personal scissors, so I’m willing to take the risk of having to replace them.

What I love is when they ask for different items from one year to the next: wooden ruler this year, plastic ruler next; pointy-tipped scissors one year, blunt tipped the next. That’s when I began taking their specific requests with a grain of salt.

Seriously, they need to appreciate any contribution a parent makes. School supplies can be expensive especially if you have multiple kids. When I went to school 35 years ago, all we needed was a backpack and a pencil!

      • Ana

Exactly! Plus right now it seems like all the schools are putting the classroom school supply stuff together that the kids bring. So I pick and choose what to get named brand and what not. Somethings don’t matter what company they’re from, they work equally as well as the higher end.

I have the same problem and feel like 80 pencils of ticonderoga brand for a 1st grader is a little extreme. Also 12 dry erase markers. please it is ridiculous. I would pay $150 per child if I filled to there exact specifications so I just get what I can and they can kiss my white arse.

          • Ana

            LOL 😁 Exactly!

          • Sydney

Aren’t the dry erase markers for the teacher?
