Thank you!!! I’m sure these will sell out fast! Even though I’ve already purchased book bags for my kids I grabbed two more for mid year.

    • nicolegammeter

      You’re welcome! πŸ™‚

  3. Anita

Yay!! Got one for my first grader! Thanks Collin!!!

    • nicolegammeter

      You are welcome! πŸ™‚

  4. Jenni

Thank you!! Finally got a deal on a quality backpack for my preschooler! Now I’m thinking of replacing 2 of my older kids’ 3 year old backpacks from Pottery Barn :)… They are holding up so well, just starting to look dingy.

  5. Carrie

Great deal! I got the smallest one, $15.70 with tax, sweet deal!

Thank you!!! Even though I had already bought one for my kindergartner, I do not expect it to last all year long, it’s one of those character ones, but so excited about this, even got her name on the bag…can’t get better than that πŸ˜„

Thank you! Going to be a Christmas gift for my 2 year old little guy! πŸ™‚ He’ll love carrying it around and traveling to places with it!

    Awesome, thank you Colin!

      You bet! πŸ™‚

Consider safety when thinking about the monogram. Our local police recommends that kids not have their name on things as predators are able to know a child’s name and that will make them trust a stranger if approached. Please don’t monogram a name. Initials only.

    • B

Thank you for sharing I monogram my daughter nickname then saw your comment and changed it to her intials

    • stacy

Thank you for mentioning E. My 1st grade granddaughter has her name monogramed on her bookbag in huge letters and I hate it. I have tried to explain to her not to come to anyone who is a stranger who calls her name.

    • Haseena

Thank you so much for mentioning this, it didn’t even cross my mind. I called them up and was able to take her name off and just do initials.

Thanks a lot i got one:)))

WHICH ARE BETTER THIS BRAND OR POTTERY BARN KID

    • Momofallgrls

We have pottery barn and they are expensive but good quality (the Mckenzie style). I have never bought lands end back packs so I can’t compare. LL Bean also has great quality and they are also on sale for $29 right now. And they have a lifetime guarantee.

      • Sheila

Both my kids have the PB Mckenzie. It’s an Awesome bag but even on sale its pricy. I just bought 2 of these Lands End backpacks because this deal was too good to pass up.

      • Angie

I like LL Bean better, by far. But if you are deciding between Lands End and a Walmart backpack, Lands End wins.

    • P

Lands end has lifetime warranty. If at any time you have problem (even years later) land end will repair or replace it

      • Erin

Well . . . sorta. I bought one when my son was two or three and stored it til Kindergarten. After a year, it was full of small holes in the bottom. (It was one of the smaller, cheaper featherlights.) I took it back to the store but the receipt was “too old” and they told me I’d have to mail it back. Lands End did refund my purchase price but they didn’t replace it. So, if it’s old and you try to return it, you may get stuck paying shipping, and you’ll get your purchase price rather than a replacement. I don’t love the quality of the backpacks I’ve purchased (or the styles or colors) but I do love Lands End for boys clothes. Jansport and Eastpack also carry lifetime warranties and their backpacks are excellent. I’ve heard Eddie Bauer also has a lifetime warranty, too.

      • Elise

I agree it’s not really a lifetime warranty, but a lifetime return policy. (So long as you have your receipt, otherwise it’s lowest selling price.)

  12. Tana

Lands end … By far better! They have a lifetime guarantee and they are very well made!!

  13. Chelsey

These are amazing. I’m 26 and still have mine from 1st or 2nd grade! It’s a little dingy but has held up great!

  14. Allie

I bought these last year to replace ones from LE that lasted very well (& I have boys if that says something!).
FYI – I was really dissapointed in the quality last year. Thinner material & dingy zippers.
There was a very obvious change in quality from years past which seems to be an ongoing trend in most mid-price range producers.

    • Nicole Z.

I agree! Last years’ models were not as well made.

    • Erin

Sad. πŸ™ That seems to be what a lot of people have been saying about Lands End products recently. The new bags must be really bad because I bought a couple probably about seven years ago or so, and I thought they were really disappointing in terms of quality. If you order, make sure you have a Sears nearby so that you can return without paying return shipping.

  15. Momof3

Can i redeem my shopyourway points on this ??

    • Deanneg2

It gives you the option… But a lot of my rewards exclude lands end😞

    • tamlc

Yes, I used my shop your way reward without a problem.

  16. Lisa

About $15 for a backpack for my youngest. I paid about $36 for a similar backpack for my oldest earlier this summer from PBK. Great deal! Thank you!

  17. P

My son really wanted a Jurassic World backpack but they’re $10-$15 at Walmart or Target and will almost surely fall apart in a few months. For $15 I got him a dinosaur one from LE, monogrammed with a little t-rex and his initials. He’s just as happy with this as he would have been with a poor quality character one.

  18. Beth

Thanks! What a great deal! I got one to have on hand for when the character on he chose rips out – I’m betting on October πŸ˜‰

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      YW! πŸ™‚

  19. Princess

Like many others I purchased a character backpack for my little one. I know from prior experience they only make it half of a school year (I usually get another once they go on clearance), but thanks to you I was able to get one of these for him at a great price. Thank you.

  20. Maria

Wow! What an awesome deal! Thanks Collin. XOXO

  21. Sheila

Didn’t need them but bought 2 to stow away. Great deal!!!

  22. sahm

Will the smaller size bag be too small for 1st grader? On phone and cant see the details.

    • Sheila

I didn’t think so. Got a Medium for my Kindergartener because I thought she would grow out of the small too fast.

      • Sheila

        I meant…..I think so.

    • Jess

Sorry if this is way too late, on my phone the time shows as a different time zone so not sure what time you posted but the “my first classmate” is 13.5 inches high and the “small classmate” is 16.5 inches high. They are both rated for kids heights’ 3’6″ to 4′ but I would order at least the “small” for first grade. This is comparable to the size of most cheap character backpacks which tend to be 16″ (at least when I checked). I had a tough time choosing a size as well but figured I might as well go up a size and if nothing else it will be usable longer.

    • Seema

Depends on your child’s height… The small fits a child from 3’6 – 4′ and the medium is for 4’3 onwards.

    • Rebe

Last year I ordered the smallest one online and I exchanged it for the middle size for kids. Especially if you are planning on keeping the receipt and make them last!

  23. Sunny

Thanks! I got two for Christmas presents πŸ™‚

  24. DEISY

    got 2

  25. Joy

Thumbs up! Keeping our kids safe is a number one priority! We have 3 daughters and they don’t wear their names on their clothing and no monogramming for us. The world is scary enough without giving someone with bad intentions a target to prey on.

  26. Priscilla

THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!! I needed a backpack for my son

    • nicolegammeter

You are so welcome, Priscilla! πŸ™‚

  27. Oshea

Thank you for posting this. I purchased the large one in cobalt. Navy sold out as I was choosing the monogram. I paid 24.36. I had a few cents in my Syw account. I am now done with bookbags. Got the girls with the Sports Authority deal. I am so glad I came across this site.

  28. Michelle

Thanks! I used this deal along with a discounted gift card from Raise to get a medium backpack and clearance shirt for less than $19 πŸ˜€

    • nicolegammeter

Way to rock the deals! πŸ™‚

  29. Katie

Fave deal this summer!! Thanks sooooo much!!!

    • nicolegammeter

      Glad to help! πŸ˜€

  30. E

LOVE these back packs!! I have been waiting for them to go on sale again! I STILL have 2 that I bought for my oldest kids from 3 or 4 years ago!! I just bought 3 newer and bigger ones for my kids with initials and embroidery! So excited! πŸ™‚ Thanks!

  31. brindha

My kiddo wanted one personalised and so glad to get good quality one for next year…. Thanks Collin….

  32. Susan

FYI on sizing. Small is plenty big for little kids. My son is in 2nd grade this year and is carrying a Lands End small backpack. Don’t go with the “My First Backpack,” though–that is tiny.

    • Usmcwife

Do you think a medium is too big for kindergartener?

      • Susan

        I wouldn’t use that. And I taught K and 1 πŸ™‚

      • Susan

Yes– I have both sizes in my closet and thought the medium was too big for my 2nd grade son this year (who is average size). And I taught K and 1. Small is big enough for folder, lunchbox, snack bag, and library book.

  33. Melissa taylor

So frustrated πŸ™ I just bought my daughter’s LE backpack yesterday! Paid over $45 with shipping. Makes me sick to my stomach πŸ™

    • C

Email or live chat or call. They will honor this sale.

  34. Patrice

I was so nervous about the size I ordered for my kindergartner. But as i was picking him up from school, I saw a mom with two kids that had the small and medium size in the color I ordered. I asked her what she thought about the quality and she said they were great. Nice coincidence. Looking forward to receiving the small backpack! Thanks Collin for all you do!

  35. Sara

Love their backpacks! They customer service if you need to return one is good as well. All four of mine use them. Got my youngest the small one for preK then on into next year and onward. He was using the my first backpack (that’s now went through 3 of my 4 and is in great shape) and it’s just so small.

  36. Susan

Yay–free! Used shop your way points!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yay! Thats Great! πŸ™‚

  37. Kelly

I love their backpacks!!!!!! We have purchased them for the past 5 years. They last all year, way better than the cheap Walmart ones. Just an fyi… they wash up well too. I washed my daughters teal color on delicate and then let it air dry, it looks great! It says to only spot clean them, however hers had that dingy, I’m been dragged on the ground one too many times look! :)! I have also had an LL Bean one was not happy with it, the zipper broke.

  38. Karen

Yay! My boys are so excited. Thank you Collin!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome! YW! πŸ™‚

  39. Amanda Nicholson

Does anyone know why I keep getting an erotic message saying my email address is invalid and won’t process my order? I tried a few different addresses as all say invalid!

    • Amanda Nicholson

      Not erotic! Error!! Sorry!

    • Elaine

Lmao! You made my day. I love auto correct πŸ™‚

      • tiff

I chatted with landsend.com and they said their IT is working on it, it’s a known error. You have to set up an account first, then you can move forward. It was indeed, so very frustrating!

  40. Sara

Also an option under personalization to add a word! Thinking SCHOOL or TRAVEL or FISHING for the husband lol

  41. tiff

Thanks Collin! Because of you and hip2save I earned shopyourway points with FitStudio.com and only paid 9.71 after discounts for the medium backpack! This is absolutely perfect for back to school.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      That’s awesome! You’re welcome! πŸ™‚

  42. Michelle

Yay!! I love Hip2Save!! Who doesn’t need a backpack at this time of year?? My son is going to love it!!
