    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Thanks, Janet!

Do staples price match other stores such as office max?

    • Momofallgrls

      Yes

      • quira628

        Thank you

Staples treated me very poorly this week when I asked for price match. They also sold me a plastic totes set for 1/2 of the clearance price and when I went back when the store opened in the morning the manager that checked me out the night before refused to honor the price he gave me the night before. On the flip side I went to OfficeMax, the staff found all of the sale items for me that Collin listed a few days ago and did not put any limits on the number of items . I got sale prices for my grandchildren as well as enough for a few other children’s back to school lists. OfficeMax-A , STAPLES-F- thanks for the great sale list Collin, you & your staff are the best.

When Staples started to refuse to help teachers with supplies as they always did, tons of teachers in my area stopped shopping there a few years ago. Now all the Staples in my area are closed except one. I switched to Office Max and love them!

  4. Anita

Yes , Staples in my area in SOCal price matches not only OfficeMax but other big retailers like Walmart & Target as well

  5. julie

Does this apply to online purchase?

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

The deals are not valid until the 16th, you can check online that day and see if any of the deals pop up for you. Also the price matching does apply online as well as in store. Hope that helps! 🙂

  6. Casey Meyers

Have never had any problems with Staples. Office Max is higher than Staples.

  7. Melissa

Is .25 a good price on cap erasers? It’s one of the last things on my list.

    • Deb

You can sometimes find them for .01, but that’s with a $5 purchase.

  8. Tomoko

What’s a good price for bit wite out tape? Office Depot (until tomorrow) has a 2pk of bid wite out tape for $2. I also need filler paper and they have it for 1 cent each. Was planning on buying three 2pks of white out for $6 total to hit the $5 min for filler paper. I see staples has filler paper for $0.75 next week according to this post so any recommendations on what I should do. I could price match the wite out deal this week at staples but I won’t get the penny filler paper. Thanks!

    • Catie

Collin’s price list suggests $1 per white out is a good price, so $2 for a 2 pack is the same. Plus if you do it at Office Depot/max, you’ll get the paper as well this week. That’s what I would do.

    • Joy

The bic wite out correction tape is only $2 at Staples as well this week, so your post made me wonder if Staples would still 110% price gurantee an item when it’s the same sales price? Also, if I’m not mistaken, everything listed here IS valid now because Staples has a season long ‘less list’ pricing structure going on. Their extreme deals are what change every week tho.

      • Kevin

Oh I was not aware that staples also has them for $2. In that case they won’t price match. Thanks for letting me know.

  10. Diana

Any one know of where and what will be a good price for PRIMARY composition books (The ones with wider lines and a space on top to draw pictures) for younger children to use? ?
    TIA

    • navywife

      25 cents

    • K

OfficeMax just had them for 25¢ a few weeks ago might come back at $1 or less again. A lot of the door busters I have noticed come again for double or triple but do come back at less than retail.

    • Rebecca

if you are talking about the k-2 books (like mead) I got mine at Walmart and they price matched an online store for $1.68. They are different than the ones that go on sale for $.25 though.

      • K

Mine from OD are k-2 with same line spacing and picture drawing space as the one from WM I checked to be sure. Not sure if it’s regional but I did pick them up for 25¢ 3 or 4 weeks ago.

  11. Melissa

Staples price matched my items today with a minor fuss. I did not push the 10% part of it but now I wish I had!

  12. Laura

I can’t stand my local staples. Everyone including managers always seem to have a huge attitude.

  13. Shel

I’m so thankful that our Staples employees are awesome…so very friendly and helpful!!- (This is especially good since we don’t have an Office Max/Depot!) Thank you, Collin, for posting these deals!

  14. mindy

I went to Staples to get a price match on Texas Instrument TI 84 CE plus calculator with target for $84.99. They only did price match, not 110% but I did get the $15 rebate. You don’t really need the rebate form since everything you need is on the receipt and you can do it online. So the final price is $70

  15. Marie

Where I live, the Staples is amazing and the Office Max is horrible. Office Max is really run down and very unfriendly. Interesting to hear about other’s experiences.

  16. Mp

I bought my school supplies at Staples & regret it. Walmart has much better deals. Notebooks are only $0.12 at my local Walmart. Next year I’ll just stick to Walmart. I bought some supplies for shoebox gifts too that I do yearly for Operational Christmas.
