   This is the first year my son has been interested in legos. What kind of discount can you can get on Black Friday/Christmas-time?

  My boys have been avid lego fans for the past few years and I usually try to snag deals on Legos ahead of time when Christmas shopping. Personally I haven’t found many great deals on them on Black Friday. Generally the store(s) that will actually have them on a really good sale are stores that I don’t need a single other things from like small department stores so it isn’t worth the bother to go there and try to fight my way through the crowd for just the Legos when I could be at other stores where I am trying to buy bigger items at a better discount. Like last year Gordmans had the $24.99 character sets for $9.99. Great deal! But it was the only thing I would have wanted from there and they opened at the same time as stores like Best Buy and Wal-Mart so I needed to go to those more.

   Take a look at your local walmarts. I found tons of marked down lego sets.

  I agree with Katie. Periodically check out your local stores (Target, Meijer, Walmart, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc) they usually have them on clearance throughout the year but you have to get it at the right time. I also purchase a lot through Amazon. I’m not sure if I’m getting stellar deals with Amazon but sometimes its easier than driving to the store “just to see” how much it is there.
