Hey all you Hip lunch packers! 🙂 what kid – friendly foods do you guys put in these to send to school with little ones?

We use it for nuggets, fish sticks, rice and beans or meat , pasta. I never used it for soup though bc im worried they will spill it as they open it.

My kids put soup, ravioli, mac n cheese, etc. in theirs. I usually put hot water in the thermos first and let it sit for a few minutes, poured it out and then filled with hot food. They also did cold foods by putting ice in first and then filling with cottage cheese or even ice cream. These were great investments for us, as we still have ours from when the kids started in grade school and they are in middle/high school now. I always wash them by hand, except now that we’ve had them so long, I sometimes put the lids in the top rack for cleaning.

Does it stay warm enough until lunch? 🙂

my daughter said it was “just right” so I take it that it wasn’t piping hot, but warm.

I put everything! I usually cook extra for dinner and I sent the leftovers the following morning for my daughter. I do use it for soup but dont fill it to the top.

My 7-year-old daughter LOVES the spaghetti-o’s. I would suggest using 1/2 a can each day be the thermos can’t hold an entire can.

Is this the best deal for these? Or should I wait?

These are great, but I feel like I bought these last year around 8 dollars, maybe at target…this would be a good price for the drinking one, they don’t seem to go much lower. But some of the character ones never go down, so if its frozen you want, I would get it:)

So silly question…the nuggets stays warm do they go soggy… I have picky little eater so I am looking for any ideas to give her a variety to eat at lunch.. Thanks

    • Shannon

Someone on Pinterest said that sticking a warm paper towel at the bottom prevents them from getting soggy! I will be trying that to see!

I got mine at target and I use them for soups just fine! Works great! My kids love Fideo and If we have a long day planned I use them (they don’t go to school yet) it stays warm up 4-5 hours! Perfect! I don’t know if they would be able to open themselves w/o spilling some – I haven’t tried that yet
