Just an FYI there was a video posted this week showing that some packages of Huggies wipes contain shards of glass. The company responded but I’m not sure if they have recalled any packages yet.

    • Jen

      Claims have been debunked.

    • Lee

One of my friends had a pack of wipes that was cutting / scratching her baby. I don’t think it’s glass in there but maybe something crystalized into a hard substance. Buy these with caution.

    • Cassandra

No. Don’t let the media scare you before doing some research.

    • Kami

I don’t know what is on the wipes but I just bought a bunch of them a few weeks ago and my son who I have always used the Huggies wipes with started crying and wiggling every diaper change. He also has had some really bad rashes, which he normally never has. I couldn’t figure out what it was that was causing it. Then I saw the video on Facebook and checked the wipes and sure enough there is some really hard and scratchy sparkly almost like small crystals or small shards of glass all over the wipes and actually in bedded in them. I didn’t just want to toss them out so I tried using them as a makeup remover/exfoliater and that was a HUGE mistake because my face felt raw like I had tiny paper cuts all over my face, and the itch that came after was like I had rubbed my face in fiberglass, my face was so red and irritated it was ridiculous. I know it was a stupid idea but boy did I learn my lesson!! I don’t think its glass but it sure does itch like if you have rubbed fiberglass all over your body, not saying it is fiberglass either but whatever it is its not good. Which is really sad because I really liked these wipes. I think from now on I will be making my own, its just scary to think about what could be on the wipes now. As for all of you that say its been debunked apparently haven’t had any issues with these wipes, that’s great!! But for those of us who have experienced these wipes first hand, and can see what everyone is talking about, its true. There is something on these wipes that are causing the cuts, itching and rashes. I don’t know what it is, but i have a lot of wipes now I will not be using. So sad. :[

They’re microscopic plastic fibers. My husband and I researched it. They’reflect in light like glass but there’s nothing sharp about fibrous plastic. They’re still safe.

    • Ashley

Microscopic fibers that can still get stuck in areas microscopic fibers should not be. Glad they are not glass shards, but not entirely convinced they’re “safe” …

If you read the huggies website they have responded to all the alleged “glass shards” if you read the ingredients salt is the fourth so that’s your “fiberglass” . Just someone made an accusation and everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

Ugh I am so over this video!!! It’s science people. As someone who had to take a bunch of gen chem, organic chem, and biochem I can tell you she probably didn’t store them at room temp like the package says. It’s just a crystallization reaction. This is why medicine and other HBA products say store in a cool, dry place. Also I am so far from a grammar police type, but the original girl who posted didn’t even use the correct their, she said there. I’m not going to take science info from someone who doesn’t know the difference between their, there, and they’re. Rock candy has crystals so would you not let your kids eat that? No, because not everything that is a crystal is glass. Plenty of food grade, edible compounds can crystallize too and we use/eat them with no problems.

wish I could ‘like’ this comment. I watched the video too and had to forward to the end. It was so long and ridiculous.

    • Cassandra

I wish I could like this comment too…people believe everything they read online!

    • Veronica

Yes but there are many people experiencing this, not just one “she”. And it does sound like it originated at the company. Just because it is not glass does not mean people aren’t experiencing issues and they are not safe.

  5. Ihsanza

There is a 1$ cash back on Mobisave for any Huggies wipes, which will make it a moneymaker 🙂

    • Carla

      Thanks for the reminder!

      • Ihsanza

        You’re welcome, Carla 😉

  6. Elaine

I believe EVERYTHING I read on the internet! 😉

Don’t buy this wipes have something in them that irritates skin!!!!!!

    • K

Everyone’s skin is different. Some people are more sensitive than others. Don’t tell someone not to buy something just because it irritates your skin. Let them try it and figure it out for themselves.

  8. Musk

Never shopped at walgreens before.. Do i need a rewards card to get the $1 price or is that the price for everyone? TIA

  9. Sally

Kroger had the 32ct for $1 too.

  10. Kristin

Do you think the mobisave will work on these wipes? Says for natural care

    • mel

The photo does show natural care line, but when I click the box to open up the details, it says ANY Huggies wipes, excluding Trial Size.

  11. abaughn0003

FYI they are 2 for 4 at my Walgreens

    • Ashley

      The 64 ct are 2 for $4.

  12. April

Glass, plastic, fiberglass. No matter what, I would not want something “scratchy” on my little guys bottoms and genitals!

  13. Cece

I have only seen the 2 for $4. I have yet to find the 32 ct!! Ahhhh.

  14. Tammy

I have found the 32 ct. Packs at my Dollar General & Dollar Tree stores too….Kokomo, IN

  15. Genesis Nieves

Great deal — will be picking up some tomorrow!
