Happy Friday: Frugal Encouragement Gift
Sent from reader, Sherry:
I wanted to do something to encourage a friend who is returning to work this week – she has a baby & little time to do anything! I shopped through my “gift closet” thanks to Hip2Save and made a fun & practical bag to prepare her for work.
I included feminine products, oral care, hair care, fun lip & nail care, VS panties, sanitizer, razor & a coffee drink, all purchased with Hip2Save deals, costing probably $5 or less! Thanks for helping me encourage a friend!
HAPPY FRIDAY! 😀

If I received this, it would bring me to tears, especially after recently giving birth! What a thoughtful gesture – and you made it look amazing as well!!
Me too! Very cute!I Also like to get free stuff from cvs or walgreens deals to thank people for doing things for me. Like if a friend comes over to move furniture I give them a bag of stuff. It’s surprising how much people love this stuff!
Nothing says encouragement like tampons hahhaha.

Yes it was difficult for me as a mother to leave my babies after maternity leave and return to work. So many emotions involved it was a stressful time. You are an awesome friend to give such encouragement and thoughtfulness! Bless your heart.
So sweet of you to do that…
I noticed she mentioned that she shopped through her gift closet. I’m just curious…I’ve been wanting to start a gift closet and buy things like kids games, toys, etc. but what do you do if it turns out the person already has that item or it’s broken in the box or something? Most moms I know attach a gift receipt at birthday parties and I know I’ve used them a few times to make returns when something is a duplicate. But if I bought the item 6 months ago, there’s no way to return it if it turns out that it’s defective or a duplicate. I know I would just graciously accept it and never mention it to the giver but I’ve been wary of buying too far in advance in case not everyone is that way (plus little kids opening gifts may blurt out that its broken or they already have it). How do you handle these situations?
I’ve kinda given up on a gift closet. My kids classmates don’t have parties ( tho I but gifts anticipating one) and my inlaws don’t invite us to their parties lol so I have gifts that are now too young for their age groups. I’m thinking about shelters or the school usually does a Christmas tree for the needy.
When I give a gift from my gift closet I simply enclose a note saying that I offer my own exchange system. If you are not happy with your gift you may return it to me and pick something else from my gift closet. My friends and family are happy to select the item of their choice from my closet. Kids love it too. My closet has gotten rather large though..more like a spare bedroom. Lol
That’s really nice of you! I never get any gift receipts with any of my gifts, not even for my baby shower items. With kids gifts I just think if the parent or child doesn’t want that gift, they can take it around to different stores to see if they can exchange (you can check online if the item is sold there/ price) or they can save it in their own gift closet.
Anyways this is cute! I would love to know what each gift tag says lol.
Awesome! Very sweet of you Sherry.
