In the past, readers have been able to find lots of awesome goodies in these bags like watering cans, toy shovels, notepads, slinkies and LOTS of fun activity-related items. Check out this email from Hip2Save reader, Rachel:
Hi Collin! I stopped by my local Michaels today to make a return and saw some awesome $2 grab bags… I grabbed THREE and look at all I got! I’m so excited because I’m a daisy troop leader and I got enough tie dye for the entire troop to make shirts! Not to mention a bunch of other fun stuff for us to use during craft time. I kind of want to go back and buy the rest…. π

Awesome finds! I bought 8 of those die kits over the summer when I saw then for only 2.09 per kit. I did tie dye shirts with our Girl Scouts troop, and they turned out amazing. We did not use the black dye that came in the kit, but we did end up using black puffy paint to put our troop number on the back. We have received several compliments on our shirts, and the girls really had a great time making them! π
That’s great Carrie! Thanks for sharing.
Just wondering if anyone else did the Trick or Treat bags. We did and all it was was painting a brown paper bag I was a little disappointing. Anyone else have experience with the Craft projects are they all like that.
We went too to do it (NC) and my son was able to choose between a purple or black jute bag (the quality wasn’t amazing) but for $2 it was great and he had fun decorating his own bag.
Where they maybe out? Did they charge you?
Oh wow me too I took my kiddos and they gave brown bags and the lady wasnt even prepared with enough. She had to leave to get more π then she made my chikdren shre brushes and a paint bowl. And no face painting at all no one got their face painted like the add said. I also didnt like the Halloween one seemed like she was rushing it π
Darn. Sorry to hear that Kristin.
We went, we were given black fabric type bags. All kinds of brushes and several different paint colors. The young lady even rinsed our brushes for us. We were also invited to face paint and my daughter got to choose a nice handful of small toys and candy at the end. We had a blast, this was the first one that we have attended. It sounds like a totally different event, I am so sorry.
We just happen to stop in on halloween and they had a table and some kids painting. Though my dd is 10 she still did it. They have her a black paper back and had pai t and sponge brushes out..it was free
I got a Grab bag today for the first time. It had 8 canvases n some decorating items which will be great as I’m planning to use them for the kids in our family to make their family gift that they will give away.
I got some of those canvases too. as an idea. I’m going to tape
The word Joy onto canvas. paint it with ? Modgepoge and dump glitter over the whole thing, shake, dry, carefully take tape off! I’m so excited to decorate with my new found 80% off treasures! Thanks Collin
Oh cool! That is a great idea π
I wanted to go there tomorrow.. I hope mine has some and especially ones with canvases!!
Since I want to buy some blank canvases for a kiddy paint nite thingy for my little guys fourth bday!
Thank you for the heads up! When you mentioned these after summer I was visiting my mom & we went & they had grab BOXES for $2 each. We got 2 boxes & they were just packed full of goodies! I’ve been hoping they’d do it again & figured it would be some time after Halloween, so thank you forgetting us know. I know where I’m headed tomorrow;) Of course I’ll have to have my mom check out her store too. I’m hoping my store is as good as hers with how they pack them:)
I would like to share what state they’re from or city to see if my local Michaels might have some grab bags! They didn’t have them last year around Christmas time from Richmond Virginia! Thanks!
Where are these normally located in the store ?
I got my deals near Orlando, FL and found the bags in a bin right by check out. π
Anyone find any in northern VA? Last time this was posted I went to two stores but nothing π
Nova person, I found lots summer grab bags this year at the Vienna store on Maple. There were none the same day at the one on Nutley.
Edgewater, NJ had tons of bags near the entrance, filled with items from their Halloween clearance section, plus some bottles of fabric dye.
Don’t know if anyone is interested… Bought 5 grab bags and I now have 12 Betsey Johnson phone cases, iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and Samsung Galaxy s3 compatible. Email me if you’re interested kgoldberg716 @ gmail . come
I picked up 6 grab bags. Emptied them on my kitchen table. Now I am sitting here wondering what to do with all of this random junk. π Laughing hard at myself.
Create awesome things!!! What’d you get?
I am a creative girl, but not sure what to do with broken wood letters (not friends family initials), lots of stationary with the letter v, and sticky backed fuzzy wallpaper. LOL I have definitely had better luck in the past with the grab bags. π
I bought 5 grab boxes… I am now the proud owner of 12 cell phone cases that don’t fit my phone, 14 ceramic purse shaped magnets and a myriad of other random things… I am very creative and I teach preschool, and despite that I still have tons of junk I don’t know what to do with
π Same!
Dover, DE does not have the $2 grab bags ;(
