I rarely ever wear makeup but now that my age is beginning to show I think I might want to wear it from time to time…so, is this a good “beginner” set for adults or is it more for teenagers? I’d love to get a set of something so I can try to find the color & such that works best for me. Thanks!
I purchased an Ulta set a few years ago and I’d recommend it only for the younger crowd. (I only ended up keeping the cute case.) I’m in no way a high end makeup snob, but sometimes it’s better to pay a little more for quality. As I recall, Ulta makeup kits have little staying power and aren’t as pigmented. There are tons of reviews for makeup online so I suggest doing a bit of research. You can find some awesome drugstore makeup that way. Good luck!

Since you rarely wear makeup, you most likely won’t need a big set like this. It’s going to contain a lot of colors you probably won’t wear. Alot of brands have starter sets, only contain a handful of products.
Sephora Favorites sets could be an option too, usually travel size products from an array of brands from skincare to makeup and reasonably priced. Sets change throughout the year, and SiJCP gets different ones.
Higher end brands are putting out holiday sets, Tarte for example, usually has a $10 set, decent sized for a 3 piece set, in the past it was their oil, blush and lip.
Sephora, department stores etc do give samples when asked.

I LOVE the Sephora Favorites sets! I get the mascara set from JCP every year, and this year I splurged and got the mask set, skin care set, and dry shampoo set. Make sure you sign up for Sephora’s emails. I’m always getting emails for free samples for Sephora inside JCP. Some of the samples are deluxe, just as big as the 100 point rewards.

Arica same thing happened to me. Some of the antibacterial gels are on clearance so not buy two get two free. Make sure price is $3 each. I think it was mandarin scent.
