We have this & LOVE it! Even the kids love to ask her things for school. My husband now tells “her” (Alexa) what to put on the shopping list so then I just open the app when I’m grocery shopping & my list is there. I ask her to set timers for me as I cook. We also have Phillips SMart Things hooked up to it, so that we can ask her to turn on & off our lights, and so much more! It’s awesome!
I want this! My only concern is my daughter’s name is Alexia and I’m worried it will think I’m talking to it every time I say her name lol! Can you change the name it responds to?

I just applied for the Amazon.com store card and got a $10 gift card. Then realized I applied for the wrong card. So I applied for the Amazon rewards card, and received $80 gift card…. So just bought Echo for $70.49!!

We love our Echo! I highly recommend this product. We listen to music and news all the time on her. The kids ask Alex’s to tell them jokes and add goofy stuff to my shopping list. (warning- she will actually add ‘poop’ to your shopping list. This causes uncontrollable giggles and rolling on the floor laughter to young children😀)

I think it has to be the Amazon Store Card through synchrony bank. It is specific to Amazon only (not a MC or Visa etc). I have both the chase rewards card and the store card, only worked with the store card for me.
Yes, you have to use the Amazon Store Card for the $50.00 off. The amazon Rewards card will not work.
U have to have the other Amazon.com store credit card, not the rewards credit card.

Do you have to be a prime member to get the good discounts when you apply for the card. I am only seeing I can get either a $10 card or a $30 card. My sister has the card already and it won’t take the code! Please help!
Check what type of card she has. If it is not working, then it is likely that she has the “rewards” card and not the “store card”. The Amazon Store Card is what you have to use to get the $50 off of the ECHO. You can only use it on Amazon.com and it gives you 5% back on every purchase. It is only showing $10 credit right now. I could not find the $20 credit.
The Rewards card is a Chase card (3% back on Amazon, 2% on Gas, resturants, drugstores, 1% on everything else). I contacted customer service about the $30 vs $80 for the Rewards card (because, that is a big difference). He said to not worry… the $30 is an instant credit for applying. A $50 credit will be applied to your account within a few days if you are approved.

I just got off the phone with Amazon support and they said the promo ended a couple hours ago. I had it in my cart with the promo entered and just didn’t click place my order at work, when I got home the promo was gone. MEGA BUST!
We already have one and love it. It was going to be a gift. $149 is still a good deal considering they were supposed to be released at $200 (I know they changed that to $179) and do far more than when they launched. More and more people are developing stuff for them all the time.
I got online and did the online chat. They will issue me a $50 after the order ships….
I did the chat too and they directed me to the Echo department and they said they couldn’t honor it because it was something Synchrony bank was offering, not Amazon. I guess you got lucky. Make sure you keep the transcript of that chat just in case they don’t honor it.
