I went to get this deal today. I bought 24 cans and had 6 coupons, but they didn’t ring up correctly and I was overcharged, so check your receipt after your purchase.

    • Amber

Weird…! I bought 12 today with 3 coupons. Also 2 salt shakers at $5 with a $1.75 coupon. The total should have been $4.25 but came to $3.71….

      • Amber

Looked at my receipt. Regular price was $9.60 for 12 cans. Somehow the “store discount” took off $6.14 (0.79×7 & 0.61×1) for a total of $3.46-$3 in q’s. I can’t figure why.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh darn. Thanks for the heads up Sherry!

    • Rosa

I also used these coupons today and was overcharged, I had Price Matched at Walmart and went back to see what had happened they told they didn’t accept them cuz supposedly they were fraudulent coupons.

    • Laura Pyle

I think it has something to do with the quantity. I tried 24 cans with 6 coupons and it should have been $2 but rang up over $7. She voided the transaction and we tried again with only 12 cans and 3 coupons and the total came out to 48 cents. I did a second transaction and ended up with 24 cans for less than $1.

I went to 2 stores today and they were completely sold out. At one store the guy said people were waiting in line outside before he even opened the doors

    • Kasi

      Oh goodness

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Wow! Super hot deal!

  3. Sam

I will probably go to Walmart and comp.

    • R

If you want to save yourself some time, and money, don’t bother at Dollar General. And I believe someone posted to redeem at Family Dollar. They (at least mine) didn’t carry Libby’s brand. Knowing I saw someone said Target price-matched, but took any coupons off the top, I went to Wal-Mart. No problems, there. Used all my coupons in one transaction.

  4. Natalie

I price matched at Walmart and got 12 cans for $1 with 3 coupons.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet!

  5. Lauren

The coupons did not reset for me. I was able to get some early this morning at my Dollar General. They were selling fast. Mine did not ring up correctly either. The cashiers were super nice and corrected the error for me. Thanks again for posting this awesome deal!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

You are so welcome! So glad you could grab them!

  10. Stacy

It’s not there for me unfortunately.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

I went to Walmart today to price match. The cashier did price match but when I handed her my coupons she told me I couldn’t do both. She went and asked the customer service representative and she also said I couldn’t do both. She told me the coupon policy stated you couldn’t do both. I asked her if the policy had changed within the last hour and she said no and brought out the policy. Nowhere on there is that stated and she scanned my coupons. I love when employees make up their own rules.

    • Amber

      Awesome. Good for you!!

  12. Meredith

HELP I cant see the coupons

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

  18. beth

I went today, bought 12 cans, used 3 coupons and my total was .16 cents? Who am I too argue? 🙂

  19. hue

Did anyone had problem redeeming more than 1 coupon at a time at dollar general? Cashier mention another person before me was doing the deal and that only can use 1 coupon. So I’m not sure if it beep or what. I am not complaining because $0.16 per can is still a steal but wanted to see how dollar general register works for next time.

    • Amber

Bought 12 used 3 coupons. All scanned perfectly but for some reason it came to 0.46 instead of $1.

  20. amanmda

    think coupon is gone again

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Bummer.

  21. lizzy

I dont understand why cashiers at Walmart make up there own policy?? Like if its taking money from them!!!

  22. Suz A.

I made the horrible mistake of going to DG today. I was getting charged extra and I tried to explain the math to the manager and after her yelling at the cashier “I don’t have time for this, I’ll put the damn money in myself, she can just have them!” she huffed away. I was very shocked to be treated that way since I was polite and trying to understand why the register was charging me a dollar extra and the whole transaction didn’t even take 3 minutes! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere that price matches. I rarely go to DG and never will again. I got the veggies for free because the cashier wouldn’t take money from my husband, because I sent him in to pay after I went over the receipt and tried to figure out what went wrong. P.S. No luck there. Those receipts are a mess. Its probably some way to rip people off a little at a time and get away with it.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

How frustrating. So sorry to hear about your experience. Hoping that does not happen for you again!

  23. crissy

I have always had horrible experiences at DG as well!! One lady was practically yelling at me to take my coupons to a “big box” store like Walmart.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Bummer. That does sound disappointing.

  24. Lori

Dollar General has always been a difficult store to shop at for deals. Computers seem to do whatever they want. I can never figure out the receipt and neither can the cashiers. I try not to go unless its something simple. As I can see from the comments this deal is working great for some and not for others.

  25. Passitfwd

I went back to DG this morning to redeem my 2nd set of 3 coupons. A different cashier said they figured out how to do the transaction yesterday after I left! My 12 cans went through for a total of $1.05. I am happy with that price and thankful that our family can save money and contribute to different food cupboards!

  26. Krystal Tazouti

I got $0.33 back from doing them. WHen my husband did it yesterday he was charged $1.50. And today my mom did it and she paid $0.46, but before coupons it was $4, so they took off extra after the coupons. I have no idea what is wrong with the coupons lol

  27. Krystal Tazouti

BTW the deal is still good for people that got the Libbys coupon in the Redplum in this sunday newspaper

  28. Paul

I, finally, decided to try out this deal, since this is the last day. I had 2 printables and 1 Redplum coupon. So, I was planning on 12 cans. The Dollar General I visited had no cans of Libby’s vegetables. But, I found 1 flyer, back in the shelves, and decided to try the Super Walmart down the street. This must have been a huge price matching deal for Walmart, because they really stocked up on the Libby’s. One of the aisles (Pet food or stationary) was blocked off, with a giant pallet of cans of Libby’s vegetables. So, they were, definitely, ready for anyone looking to price match. Happy to get my 12 cans for $1.00.
