Crescent Wrapped Baby Cheese
Recipe from Pillsbury.com
1 – 8oz. can refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet or Crescent Dinner Rolls
6-8 baby cheeses with wax coating removed
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup pecan halves
dash of nutmeg
Directions: Unroll crescent dough sheet on a cutting board and cut into 2-3 inch squares. Remove the red wax from the cheese and then wrap each cheese in a square of dough. Make sure to pinch ends of dough together and place on a baking sheet with ends facing down. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12-15 minutes until rolls are cooked and golden brown. Mix syrup with pecans and a little nutmeg if desired. Dust with a little powdered sugar and serve syrup and nuts over the cheese rolls.
Notes: If you use 6-8 baby cheeses like the recipe states, you will have dough left over for rolls later as one crescent dough sheet gives you about 15 squares of dough. If you do not want to have leftover dough, buy more cheese OR cut small pieces of cheese off a larger chunk of Brie cheese.
