Are the pods a better deal than the liquid detergent? Or is it just the convenience that makes them popular? I’ve never tried them. Do they work as well as the liquid?

    • Stephanie

I have the same question Becky! I’ve never used or purchased pods before!

      • Jessica

For most products I do what is cheapest, but this is one of the few things I buy for the convenience. For really heavy loads, I throw two in the wash. I definitely don’t feel that they are any cheaper. With a toddler, my laundry is endless, so whatever speeds up the process works for me!

    • Em

From my experience, the liquid is cheaper by a couple of dollars. I have a one year old and sometimes it is easier to just throw a pod in though.

If you’re willy nilly with your measuring, then the pods might work out cheaper for you!

      • Crafty Bargainista

That is a good point, Em! I’ve noticed with my liquid detergents that the line it says to measure to in the instructions is actually only half of a lid full! I’ve started a habit of taking a black sharpie marker to make a bold line at the correct level… on the OUTSIDE of the cup so it doesn’t wash off from the soap. A lot of the detergents I use have a plastic lid that is just transparent enough to see through from the inside. 🙂

It’s convenient and I think it’s less waste by far compared to the large containers for the regular liquid detergent.

  2. Jessica

Is this really a good deal? I know I’ve got them much cheaper before at Target…but I’m out and don’t have time to wait for a killer sale.

  3. Jessica

Also, it looks like the 81 Gain Flings are the same deal…just 2 cents cheaper (if you prefer Gain).

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh cool! Thanks for the heads up Jessica!

  4. Bre

How do these work with a HE washer? Can you still put the pod in the detergent compartment?

    • Natalie

In my HE machine I put the pod right in with the clothes not in the soap slot.

  5. Amber

Do you have to subscribe & save to
    Get the $5 coupon?

  6. Lisa

Bummer! I use these for my son’s laundry. It shows them as available on the item page, but when I try to “review subscription,” it gives me an error message and says they are out of stock.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Darn 🙁

  7. Katie

I got a sample of flings and I’m in love! If you have an Ollies around great laundry deals there too.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Sweet! Thanks for the heads up Katie!

  8. Robby

I find the pods to be more efficient and easier to use by far great product I would take extra precautions with young children

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Thanks for your helpful feedback! Good to know!

  9. emily928

Can’t get this to work, don’t see a S&S option.

    • emily928

Looks like it might be available for other scents, but not for free & gentle. For that one, it’s only showing an open box from Amazon Warehouse (higher price)

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Looks like it went out of stock for a moment, but appears to be back again!

  10. Katie

It just worked for me for the Free & Gentle, keep trying.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Oh awesome! I am seeing it available again as well! Thanks for sharing Katie!

  11. lancy

off topic, gerber melts deal is also back again, was able to get the variety kind for $10 plus change

  12. Jennifer

My subscribe and save price is $16.99, so only $11.99 after the coupon, and will be even less because I have 5 items this month!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet!

  13. Sally

$12.71 for me! I have been doing some serious subscribe and save! I also stacked codes JANPANRTY & SUPERBOWL to use up my $5.99 no rush shipping codes for prime pantry!

  14. Amy
