I asked this is another thread and it never received a reply.

The Walgreens near me only allows one like coupon per transaction, saying a purchase is a transaction. This has happened twice to me recently. The first coupon goes through, but the second doesn’t, and I end up having to do a transaction for each coupon.

Are all Walgreens the same? It is very annoying!

And it’s not like I am some shelf clearing maniac. I had TWO coupons.

My local walgreens told me you can not have more coupons than products. Can use walgreens coupon & manufacturer coupon on same item. If you bought a pack of gum or something, I assume you could have used the 2nd coupon. U think the reg rewards count towards the coupon total as well. But other walgreens may be different

You have to make sure the cashier is scanning each item. If they are entering a quantity, the 2nd coupon will always beep b/c there is nothing for it to attach to, since the 1st coupon covered the entire quantity entered.

Their coupon policy doesnt state only one like coupon in one transaction. Try next time to tell the cashier to scan each item not by quantity if using more than one like coupons. But if the coupon state only one per transaction then u can only use one. Per purchased means per item. Most cashier even managers doesnt know the difference of per transaction and per purchase. Hth good luck ☺

Simply put: Walgreens allows one manufacturer coupon per item. You can stack a MC with a Walgreens coupon. Have you spoken with a manager?
Walgreens is horrendous to coupon with. IMHO. Except for good deals on groceries, I stopped shopping them long ago.

It was actually a manager that checked me out last time. I tried to explain purchase vs. transaction, and she wasn’t getting it. She said ALL stores are going to start doing it since they are now printing limits per purchase on coupons (transaction to her). I didn’t have the heart to tell her that has always been on the coupons. πŸ˜•

I’ll see next time if they are actually scanning each item. I wasn’t paying attention before.

I have had the same issue and it was with the manager also!! That’s why I really dislike shopping there! Every purchase is a “battle”. It doesn’t make sense to do separate transactions to use 2 alike coupons when the sale price is 2 for $x and if you spend x you get so many reward points.

My 1-31-16 RP had a $1 off 1 coupon for these (Exp 3-13-16). Check your Red Plum inserts, Hipsters. πŸ™‚

PS. Kroger (if you are near one/have one) have these as a part of their Mega Sale right now. $2 each. $1 after $1/1 coupon.
