Is Sony a good TV? We ususally buy Vizio, love their TVs. Opinions?

I just read a consumer reports the other day on tvs (we’re considering purchasing a new one) and samsung and Vizio are top rated (not sure about this exact model but Sony was not rated as well as those 2 brands) I think it really depends on how much the highest quality means to you. The Samsung and Vizio were priced in $2000 and up range for best quality.

Thank you, Krystal for your input! I’ll probably stick with Vizios.

Think it depends where is made. I had a Sony Japan that lasted me more than 15 years until I decided to up size. Then got a Sony Mexico (which I didn’t realize there was even such a thing, just thought they were all made in Japan) and it was not very good quality. I been sticking with LG and that’s been pretty well

Exact same here. Most of my things are LG now. I’ve had lots of problems with newer Sony products. Never had anything break that’s LG so far (TVs, appliances, phones) . Price and quality are top notch IMO. Pretty good price on this Sony with the visa card though.

We have this TV it is wonderful. Sony is the #1 tv manufacturer in quality.

      Refresh rate please? 120hz?

    • shopper

Hey danielle, is the refresh rate on this tv 120hz?

although I’m sure it’s a fine TV, Sony isn’t number 1 in quality or any other category (especially customer service) as of 2012 when they started reporting losses of 1.9 billion annually. 2016 consumer and independent studies on ultra HD TVs clearly show Samsung, LG and Vizio as the top 3 in every category. I used to love Sony but in the last 5 years it’s just not there compared to the others. but I’m sure this is a great TV for the price. FYI Sony warranty and customer service is horrible as I know first hand paying $40 to shop a brand new Sony $900 a/v receiver to Texas only to have the video card break again a month later because they put in a used one (they even stated used on my paperwork) and wanted me to pay shipping again to send it again. I didn’t. There is only 2 authorized warranty centers in the southeast U.S. ridiculous. bought a Yamaha, 1000 times better

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web smart so I’m not 100 sure. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you|
