Off topic what happened to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Rebok hoodies ?

HI Shirley! I ended up removing the post since they sold out so quickly. 🙁

My son will be 2 in June so it’s technically not his first Easter. Think they will mind? It’s literally around the corner for me 😆

I’m curious too. My sons gonna be 18 months but I still want to take him :/

What happens in store , my sons first easter but don’t want to drag him out of house ( got his shot yesterday ) , is it fun ? Do we get something ?

I took my son last year. There were samples for everyone, basically the same stuff you get in the baby registry bags. They also had door prize drawings. There were enough prizes for everyone to win something. (There were maybe like 10 families there.) We won a small toy. Some of the prizes were bigger and nicer. It wasn’t “fun” per say. They read a book and then let parents ask questions if they had any. I don’t think the stores would mind an 12-24 month old coming but just be aware there really isn’t an activity for them to do or anything and all the free samples are baby items, like for infants.

Be sure you call and check. The BRU near me is also a Toys R Us and they told me it’s only the stand alone BRU participating. Bummer. :/

Just got back not to long ago. Wanted to share our experience for those who want to go to future events/next year.
The activity was you a stamp bunny face. You take your babies hand and put it over a stamp pad. Then you make them create a Spock hand sign and stamp it on paper (creating bunny ears and a face) then you use the thumb (with a different color stamp) to create a nose. This was impossible for a baby to do. There is no way to get them to open their hand flat, let alone stamp it flat. You will have to use your own hands… but that defeats the purpose. There was only 3 stamp pads for EVERYONE… so it was a nightmare.

They also read a book & talked about what stuff you can buy to create a easter basket.

There was a goodies bag with 4 samples and a raffle. It was strictly one per family. There was a sample of diaper rash lotion, gerber oatmeal in a small packet, 1 boogie wipe and a packet lotion. There were 3 different items for raffle… a full size diaper cream, the book that was read, and a box of pamper diapers (you choose size 1, 2 or 3.) I notice they only gave goodies bag & raffle to those with an infant baby, so I guess it really must be geared towards families with babies in their first year.

There was also a SMALL “Babies 1st Easter” backdrop for you to take pictures with. It was for babies only since the backdrop was so small. (Maybe you can fit one more small child.) It was put on the floor, so you had to sit on the floor to take pics. My baby could not sit on his own yet, so I had to ask the Sales Rep if I can borrow a Bumbo from the sales floor to use. Luckily she said yes, so I was able to get some shots. They also let us use some of the store items like Bunny Ears, stuffed animals and stuff… BUT the tags were still on them, so that looked really tacky on pic. Also, I saw other kids chewing on the tags… so not sure how sanitary that is since I know my baby likes to put things like tags into his mouth too… if not play with it. The sign also had a big old “BabiesRUs” words on the backdrop, so you had to advertise for them if you share or post it anywhere. I can’t emphasize enough how small the sign is… it really, almost defeats the purpose of having a backdrop poster.

This is my 3rd BabiesRUs event and it will be my last. The overall experience is not worth the time & 15 min drive. Shopping at the store on event days is a nightmare because they are understaffed and always have untrained employees. I tried to purchase some misc baby items and a box of diapers & used the diapers coupon from coupon.com (thanks to THIS website) and also the free Dr.Brown bottle with $25 purchase (thanks to this post.) They gave me all kinds of problems… first they said the system won’t let them use the free bottle coupon with diaper purchase… then they said it won’t let me use it because I had another coupon… which shouldn’t be the case since it was a manufacture coupon. (My purchase was well over $25 AFTER coupon deduction.) I had to tell them that the coupon does not state any of the things they were saying… so a manager had to override. Meanwhile I am getting nasty stares from people in line.

So even though it’s an hour event, if you really want to do all the stuff, you need at least 2 hours. You also can’t walk away during the 1 hour or they don’t count you for the raffle. Also, after going to 3 events, I realize they switch the goodies bags giving time… you have to be there the full 1 hour. They have given bags away right at the start time, 15 mins in, and today… towards the end. If you missed the time they give it out, you don’t get one. I guess this is to discourage those walking pass or people without babies and from people trying to get more than one bag.

Hope this helps some families who can use the hour better spent elsewhere.
