Has anyone done this before? Camps are for 3 and up but I was wondering if my 10 year old would be bored in that camp.

yes My son did this camp in Ventura CA , it was great, he love it, he was 5 years old, a nice size room with a bathroom. Sadly we moved, now in the place we live the store is a Big mess the lady that run this she isnt crafty and doesnt seem to like kids. I would recomend to see who is gonna be doing the kids class.

Well, I have never tried it. But it says ages 3 and up.. Not sure either now long the class last? I think last year’s craft were way better and craftier.

Would this hold a 4 year olds attention for 2 hours?

    • Pam

In my experience, no it will not hold a younger child’s attention for 2 hours.

        Thanks!

I have taken my now 7-year-old son to these in the past. The summer he was 5, we went to a lot of them! That seems like the ideal age and I’d think that a 10-year-old would find these projects too simplistic, but you know your child best. It could be a starting point to doing more complex crafts with the same type of materials. (Although, if that’s the case, you’re going to be spending a lot more $ at Michaels than the cost of the class!)

    Anyway, here’s our experience:

    – These are not 2-hour projects — more like 30 to 45 minutes. My son is also a perfectionist when it comes to art, so he was not just rushing through them. The good part about this is that you don’t need to be there right at 10 a.m. — you might do that for the first one just to make sure your store doesn’t do it differently, but in ours, the staff member helped each kid start as they arrived and did not just give group instructions at the beginning.

    – It does depend a great deal on the person who is running the project. Some love doing it and for others it seems like it’s a chore. The ones who love it will encourage the kids to do more and try more, so that can make it take a bit more time.

    – You can’t just drop your kid off. You either have to stay and help them (if they are on the younger side) or stay in the store and shop while they work on the project.

These can be fun but remember that in the end they are designed to get you spending more time & money at Michaels. There are worse things πŸ™‚

Does anyone know if I have 3 kids, can I sign all 3 up for the same session for the sign special, or is that deal only good for the same kid to go to three different sessions?

Are you actually able to register online? It says about it, but I can’t seem to navigate there. If there’s a link to register, please share.

  8. Tori

I have take my grandchildren to there Saturday morning craft times. They are 3 and 4 years old. They both enjoy the crafts plus the crafts only take 30 -45 mins.. sometimes mom and I might have to help them a little however they have a wonderful craft Lady who is also more then willing to assist them when need be. The store here in Reynoldsburg Ohio is amazing when comes to the craft lady. We tried the one store at Easton and the lady didn’t seem to be as Friendly or crafty. I would suggest trying a Saturday morning class and see how that works out.
