Hancock

As I mentioned a few days ago, Hancock Fabrics is going out of business and having a liquidation sale with 20-50% off the lowest ticketed price – in-store and online. I headed to my local store here in Boise, Idaho and spotted 50% off Patterns, 20% off Books, 30% off Fabric, 20% off Yarn, 20% off select Sewing Machines and more! If shopping online, keep in mind that shipping starts at $6.95.

Sorry OT. Is anyone else having trouble with target cartwheel?

    • Angie

Yes! I was in store and had a terrible time adding offers and then it would not work at checkout.

Guess we’re in the same boat πŸ™ I hope they fix it soon

Sorry to see them go. I shopped there lots in Colorado in the 90s, but not here in California. I still have hoards of fabric I cannot part with, so I see quilts of many colors in my future! Love to sew.

I work in a complex where there is a Hancocks I walk by to go to work. Needless to say I’ll keep poking my eye in to see if anything I had my eye on might go down more. I bought a 20 pack of velvet hangers for 4.79 since 3 of them were broken, the cashier was nice enough to mark it down further for me from the 7.99 it would have been. Also got one storage basket. Though if I got more I’d want them at least 50 and they were just 20% off. The majority is 20 to 50% right now here in Memphis.

Went into our store today. Most things 20% off. Overheard one worker say the liquidation company expects the store to close early June. Also they were still expecting to get a couple more shipments of merchandise in.

This is sad =( I remember going into Hancock with my mom at a young age, and they were always my first thought for sewing needs! Even when I moved to our current area with Hobby Lobby, Joann, Jackmans (local), and our walmart has a good fabric area, I went out of my way to go to Hancocks ='(

My mother has worked for Hancock for nearly 30 years. Sad time for us. πŸ™

I went on Monday hoping to get some extra upholstery fabric that I used for chairs in case something happens. Usually, it is always 50% off regular price and then you could use an additional 10-15% off if there was a coupon or military or senior day. On Monday it was full price and 20% off. I hope they’ll mark more down soon.

I noticed this too. The Hancock’s website had a feature that allowed you to put in a request for alerts on fabric for when the price dropped. I had an alert on some upholstery fabric that I wanted to use for drapery. Two months ago in the store it was marked down to $17.99 and I got a price drop email alerting me to a $14.99 price on it. I went into my local Hancock’s yesterday to purchase 10+ yards of this fabric, but they had essentially marked it up to full price – $27.99 – and then done a blanket 20% discount on upholstery fabrics – roughly $22.50 a yard. I walked out without purchasing because I felt it was ridiculous for me to pay more on a liquidation sale. I’ll wait until they get more serious and hope that it’s still around. If not, looks like I’ll be doing something different for my drapery.

I went to Clarksville store yesterday excited hoping for bargains I was very disappointed things were higher than they were 2 months ago even before going out of business sale.I left the store with nothing, I traveled an hour and half to get there, very unhappy.

I went to our store in Athens, Ga and most of their items are 60-80% off. I bought a curtain rod that was regular 69.99 and only paid $13. I also bought 2 small curtain rods that were normally priced at 49.99 and only paid $10 each #score

Wisconsin has 20-50% off. Waiting for more discounts, I’m eyeing this sewing machine. Hope I can get it for a better discount than 20%.
