This looks to be the same as before. I don’t remember when that one was posted but I haven’t received mine yet, just email reminders to upload photos. Hopefully they arrive before I plant my garden!

    • Amy

I plan to donate mine. I plant zucchini every year so it’s not much extra work to add a bit more πŸ™‚

      • darla

        Awesome!

    • GA

Of course, darla… I plan to donate these and cucumbers and tomatoes and…. just like I did last year (the first year I had a garden)…

  9. Cristen

What a great idea! And I’m glad to know there’s a local food pantry near me. I have citrus trees that overproduce each year and I’m always scrambling to find homes for all our fruit.

    • rebecca

just so people know, we used to live in Tucson, and they had a program where the local food bank would actually come and pick the fruit you weren’t able to use. i wonder if they have this option in other places?
if you are unable to pick your trees yourself, or you can’t get to all of it, and you want to donate it, give them a call! no need to let the fruit rot all over your yard.

  10. Libby

Mine came in the mail yesterday!! Be careful thought they would be in a smaller envelope inside and they weren’t so I almost went every where!!!

    • Libby

      Mine almost***

  15. Emmi

Thanks for sharing! I’m going to let my Girl Scout Troop do this as a service project!!! πŸ™‚

  17. Tami

    I got mine last week!!!

  18. Pharmchick

Thanks! I’ve heard zuccini is easy to grow and grows plentiful. I hope my gardening skills work so I can have a harvest worthy to donate!

    • Alison

It is the easiest veggie to grow IMO. If only I liked zucchini more…lol

      • Amy

I agree! Of all the things I’ve attempted to grow, this seems to be the one that never fails. We’re not big on the flavor but make zucchini cookies and bread, which sound weird but taste wonderful!

        • rebecca

i like it fried, too, as a dinner side. you can get people to eat almost anything if you put a crunchy coating on it and fry it up. πŸ™‚

  19. Andrea

I really hope I can successfully grow these – I’m the opposite of a green thumb! I love the intent of this promotion. Giving and sharing. I have learned to love zucchini as i get more “mature”. We have a spiralizer and its so great for making healthy dishes – learn to love your veggies!!

  20. Red Tractor Mom

Got ours and planted the seeds in our raised garden beds.

  21. sne3103

Do these grow in a pot? Any tips from all you experienced gardeners? I’m as far as a green thumb as can be πŸ™

    • Christie

I would not grow in a pot because the plants get very large and it wouldn’t work to well. We plant them every year in our garden.

  22. Laura

I received my zucchini seed packet recently and can’t wait to start it in pots. My experience is some plants like growing in pots better, so I’ll try that. Never planted zucchini before so glad to have some free seeds to try out. If all goes well, I plan to call the food bank donation centers in our area. Never been there before, so this will be a good introduction. Hope this is the start of something I can do more of in the future.

    • Christie

Not a good plant for pots. The plants get very large and will break easy if no support like the ground is under them.

  23. maflies1

    Out of seed packets.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Darn!

  24. Sue

    I just got mine today!

  25. Christie

Love, love, love zucchini! My son who is13 has his own garden and plants them for me. I make blueberry zucchini bread all summer and freeze a lot of loves so we can eat on them in the winter. Also, they are very good sliced and grilled.
