Happy Friday: Coupons You Can Count On

Sent from reader, Stacey:

Hello! I wanted to share that I have been couponing for over 17 years now and times have changed! I miss the good ole days of “rolling register rewards”, “double dipping” the rebates at Rite Aid, all the free items with coupons we could snag and on and on! Well things came to a halt over the last several years… but one thing remains the same, good ole coupons in the mail.

I can always count on my free Bath and Body Works trial size item, my free panty from Victoria’s Secret and my JCPenney $10 rewards. If I think about it, I will probably get 10-12 of them through the year and it is a blessing! It is also fun to get the mail and receive all these goodies!

Does anyone still get straight up free panty coupons from vs? All of mine are now “with purchase”.

    • Vanessa

I get one about once a month

    • Su

I received just once last year

    • Rae

I used to get them once a month, now maybe twice a year… I have never received one “with purchase”. Maybe it depends if you are a cardholder, and how much you shop? I was told by a VS employee that giving your email at checkout helps you get the coupons.

    • Mika

I use to get a free panty coupon from VS at least once per month but this year I started getting the free panty with purchase coupons. But this month I did receive a free panty coupon, so I’m not sure what’s going on. Hopefully I’ll keep getting the ones that do not require a purchase. Btw I’m not a cardholder but I always give them my email address when I shop in store.

    • Jsturner1

I have always gotten all three of those deals and still do. I have gotten 2 free panties in the last 2 months. I don’t shop there ever except for the free stuff and don’t have a VS card.

    • cherryluva

right, I use to get 1 free panty a month as well as $15 with no purchase at Express monthly……nowadays, I do not receive those anymore, but I do receive free $10 to spend on whatever at Kohls.

  2. Marion

How do you received the free panty coupon by mail ??

    • Emily

Mine are tucked in my catalogs

  3. April

I rarely get the $10 JCP coupon anymore

    • 💐Geeth💐

I heard if you make a online purchase at jcp.com there is more chance to get 10 off 10 coupons

      • Just Me

I’ve never made an online purchase and started getting them. I’m a rewards member and had the app for awhile.

      • Bethany

I made a bunch of purchases online over the holidays. Still no $10 coupons. 🙁

  4. fiya

I get all three.dont remember where i signed up for it

  5. Maite

I just received my first free panty without having to make a purchase and I also received one with online purchase, they both came with a catalog. I am very excited I hope I get more, these free panties are a blessing! Quick question I also received 7 reward cards in the mail 6 are for $10 and 1 is for $20. Any idea on the best scenario to use them?

    • Judy

why not just buy 6 of the panties that are $8.50 – so completely free with the SRC, and use the $20 card towards a $20 bralette, or the $25 lightweight sport bra ($5 oop), or some of the beauty products that are $10?

      • Just Me

It’s actually a money maker. At least in my experience they gave me a dollar and change instead of leaving it on the gift card.

        • Judy

my store too, but I know some stores don’t

      • Maite

        Great idea, thank you! 😀

    • Cheryl

Every store does things differently. My store lets me use one per item. I have purchased 5 panties for $27.50, used 3 $10 cards and get all 5 pairs for free. My niece will love me because so far I have purchased her 10 new pairs for her birthday and haven’t paid a dime!

      • Rebe

        Yes, not “oppressive”!

  6. Becky

I deliver mail, there are lots of different coupons you can get from Victoria secret . Free panty, 10 off a 25 purchase, free panty with purchase, etc. I deliver quite a few too. I use to get them but haven’t in over a year, i really do not shop there anymore. Another note, if you get the catalogs make sure to look inside for a coupon!

  7. Michelle

We moved earlier this year and I was so afraid that I wouldn’t get all my coupons still delivered but this past week I got a $10 off $10 jcp and a free travel item at b&b

  8. Sarakate25

It is real hit or miss these days. Some months I’ll get 2 sets of BBW! Some months I’ll get nothing at all. Seems like kohls is doing these offers also! Anything to keep us spending right ???

  9. Kat

I just left my job for personal/health reasons and we are living off my savings, so money is tight. I don’t splurge anymore. When I got the free panty coupon AND the $10 JCP coupon this month I was really excited. I was able to use a couple groupons I had previously purchased and had a very frugal mall trip.

  10. 💐Geeth💐

Where to sign up mail address for the vs coupons ?

    • Lovin HIm

At the VS store when you are checking out

  11. Judy

how fun, I love freebie coupons! I just used 10 VS SRC to get my sister 9 pairs of undies (the $8.50 variety) and two new sports bras (a $50 SRC that I am super excited that I got) – she has lost so much weight and needed a total revamp of her bras and undies and I feel so blessed to be able to give her an awesome shopping day to help her celebrate her achievement!

    • Nancy

Judy, you are such a sweet and supportive sister!

      • Judy

        ha ha…. supportive, perfect! 😉

  12. Kasey

I miss the days of all those amazing drug store deals too!! I started couponing 10 years ago then took a break for a while and came back… Things were really different!!

  13. Priya

Where to sign up for JCP $10 off coupon..

  14. Ashley

Anyone know how to get on the BBW mailing list? Not the emails, the real mail. I just logged onto my BBW account, and my address is definitely in there, but I’ve never gotten a mailer from them. My mom used to get them when I was a teen at home, and I loved using her coupons! But that was years ago…

  15. jessica

I miss triple coupons at the grocery stores!! When one local store did it the others usually did it too. I remember that was what turned me on to couponing in the very beginning. It was that thrill of getting stuff dirt cheap or free. Those were the days.

    • Sarakate25

Triple I miss double been almost 2 years since we lost it in our area 🙁

      • Happymama

I’m just now getting down the my fast few tubes of toothpaste and baby wipes from double coupons. Sniff sniff, those were the days…

  16. Shan

How please, to get these mails??? I never shopped at these stores, far and expensive( I knew in my country before coming here that vectoria’s secret is very classy and expensive (Hollywood and reality shows ;-))) I love to get some freebies from there for my sisters

Thanks for sharing, Stacey. I’m thankful for the coupons I get in the mail, and also for the deals I can score these days. I started couponing around 15 years ago, and while times and rules have changed, I can still get so many things for cheap, free, or make them into small money makers. I’m grateful for all of this, with a 17 month old at home, and one on the way in June!

    • stacey

I miss the good ole days so much! It has changed for sure, but I love the freebies and the deals we get , when we can get them! congrats w the baby on the way!

  18. Happymama

Stacey, you have a very good point here! If you take in consideration the freebies you have listed, you’d have more money for things that you don’t have coupons for, like meat or produce. Thanks for the Happy Friday, Collin!

  19. Tanya E.

Could someone share how to sign up for Bath & Body works coupons in the mail? TIA

    • Denise

Sure, you just make a purchase at their store and give your phone number and email address. I have also registered on their online site for emails, once you shop in store and have you mailing address with your online account and all are connected, you should start receiving mailings. I think you just need to get in their database. Hopefully this helps a little!

      • Tanya E.

        Thank you very much!

      • Emulvey2001

Good to know! Working full-time with 2 small children means I RARELY get to any b&m store except for groceries, especially the mall! LOL. I’ll have to be sure to stop in one of these days…I don’t know even know any of the scents anymore at BBW!

        • Mom

Try contacting them via Facebook. Although my profile listed my adress and said I was signed up for mailings, I hadn’t received anything in a year. A kind poster here suggested sending a Facebook message. Worked like a charm. I get the mailings all the time now, sometimes 2 each month! Good luck 🙂

I was just thinking a few days ago that getting little things for free is so nice. When companies send these coupons for free things I know they want to get you in the store to spend money but I’d also like to think of it as customer appreciation. Jcpenney is so great with their $10 coupons just coming at random times. I get them at my new address and my mother still gets them at hers (my old address). Thanks hip2save for all the money saving that allows us to not worry about the little extra we’ll spend on chocolates and flowers. Wink wink to the guys. I wish I could show you all the beautiful flowers my husband came home with and I wasn’t mad that he spent all that money cuz I’ve saved 10x more! Blessed weekend everyone!

  21. jhnicole

Oh how i love when companies give out free item coupons. They are my favs.Tfs, Happy Saturday now where i am.You lucky lady.I don’t recieve any of them but i do get 10$jcp sometimes.I used to get Vicky but when i moved it stopped.I’m drooling over how often you get them too.Love bath&body works ,they sent me the free full size item coupon once, no purchase needed.

  22. Susie

I’ve couponed for 30 years now. It’s gone through cycles where you have to reinvent your spending habits to stay thrifty. It’s in a lull right now, so I do more warehouse shopping using digital instant savings there, buy more produce at Aldi, and buy less name brands in the grocery store. But, I use more groupons for activities, more rewards programs, and rotate credit card usage to maximize cash back at the stores and online. Chase Freedom has 5% cash back on grocery stores and warehouse clubs this quarter. We booked our vacation rental for the last week of shoulder season to take advantage of the rates that are less than half that of high season. Saving money is a way of life, so when the coupons dry up, we still seek other ways to live well, but on a budget. 😃

  23. Luna

Recently received $10 coupon from Jcp, but never ever got a vs coupon though I registered multiple times

  24. debbielynne

These are my favorite coupons too, Stacey. I love going to get the mail! ( I also get oodles of free magazines.)

  25. Karla

I wish the JCP near me didn’t close. I keep getting the $10 off $10+ coupons but they keep going to waste 🙁

    • Rachel

Karla, you could always share them here on hip2save. I’m sure lots of people would love them. 🙂
If you have one now would you consider taking a picture and emailing me? I’m heading to jcp on Monday. I could trade you huggies codes. My email is jcserver9 at gmail dot com. Thanks!

  26. Mkw

Man…. I was just talking this morning about the coupon days when I could knock 50-80 percent off my total at the checkout. (Remember the printable coupons for things like free lb of apples and bakery products at target?) But. I’m thankful I had those days while they lasted as it helped me remain a stay-at-home mom. I also am thankful for the three coupon sources mentioned in this post. I might add I have in the recent year also liked the Amazon prime pantry convenience, coupled with the $5.99 credits (for choosing slower shipping methods as a prime subscriber) and free shipping codes. Times change. We will survive! It was fun while it lasted!

    • Mkw

Might I add: I think the misuse of coupons, coupon reality tv, and greed just really soured the general public and corporations on coupons. Also shopping styles have shifted with more processed food information, iPhones, and online delivery conveniences.

I recently received a Lane Bryant mailer that had 2 $15 off of $15. One expired a few days ago but the other was good until the 21st. Plus they had bogo on clearance this weekend. So I got 6 pieces of jewelry for $5! I also received the $10 from JCP in the mail so I took advantage of that by doing the buy on get one for a penny on Arizona so I was able to get both of my kids Arizona T-shirts for $1!. I also got the free panty from VS and I still have to use the $5 from DSW. All in all thats $55 dollars of free money and so I managed to get $144.25 worth of stuff for $7!!
