If you’ve got a young athlete in the family, check out the Puma kids’ soccer cleats for $20. The last pair of soccer cleats I got for my son were that much used! My second-grader is already getting pretty brand conscious and Puma are on the list of “cool” brands he likes. 😉
Also, if you have kids in Little League, they can wear soccer cleats; the only difference is that baseball cleats have an extra cleat in the front. Both baseball and soccer cleats (as long as they are rubber and not metal) are acceptable for at least the younger divisions of Little League. For grade-school players it shouldn’t matter much for performance, either!
The extra cleat in the front is important for baseball as it helps dig into the gravel when taking off running. I would not buy soccer cleats for baseball unless they are very young.
Understood! I am definitely talking about young kids — grade school/elementary school. Little League allows soccer cleats for them. If your child is an amazing baseball player who is older and been doing it for awhile I’m sure you would want the real thing. Thank you for clarifying, Mara. 🙂
I have a K and a 2nd graders and I wouldnt buy for the life of me a pair of soccer and a pair of baseball. These are young kids, remember.
Heck when we were little we didn’t even have special shoes for baseball. You just wore your everyday tennis shoes. lol
