I just finished bagging up clothes to donate. Hoping to raise some money for our school. Has anyone sent things in before? If so, were you happy with the profit it generated?

    • Andrea G.

I have and it was great! Raised a couple hundred dollars for my girls school. Also I got a freebie from them after I sent in my bag. It was an email that had a code valid for a free shirt!

      • Linda

        Great! Thanks Andrea.

I have gotten some great stuff from sites like schoola. Here is another website that is similar to schoola that I really like. Use this link to get you a $10 credit. https://www.thredup.com/r/OLWH2Y

  3. Nicole

How do you apply the credit when you are making a purchase?

    • $avvy $am

It automatically applies. You can only purchase good and blemished clothing. Not new with tags.

  4. Elizabeth

Thank you Collin! Used your link and made a collection. With the credits and half off/free shipping code, I scored a pair of jeans and three tanks for $1.49! 😀

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Sweet deal Elizabeth! YW!

  5. $avvy $am

I love this site for purchasing my baby gently used clothing to wear outside to play during the summer!! Scored 2 pair of shorts and 2 t-shirts for $0.70!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Awesome score! Thanks for sharing!

Here’s my link if anyone would like to use it! I have used Schoola several times and been very happy with them. Just pay attention to the brand and how that brand runs in size.

I guess the $10 from the make a collection is one time only? It said I had already made a similar purchase & took away my credit. It’s been months since I ordered last. I have to say I was disappointed with last 2 orders. One item was not marked as blemished but had a giant ink stain on it. A polo shirt listed as small in the boys section was actually a men’s small. Their customer service is great though, I was refunded my money.

    • Donna

Same here I made a collection & it’s not showing the $10 credit. Last collection/purchase I made was 9 months ago.

    • MommySpendsLess

I’ve ordered from here twice in the past (plus several more times today). I usually completely bypass the clothes listed as “blemished.” For anything listed as “good” condition I zoom in and scroll slowly up and down the picture, checking it with the same scrutiny I would give to clothing at a thrift store. I’ve found small issues on several items from the picture – small bleach spots, pulling threads, missing sequins, signs of fading and piling. I’ve been happy with most of the items I’ve actually purchased, with the exception of one skirt. It had built in cartwheel shorts and there was a big rip in them, almost like a child had cut the bottom hem of one side. Thankfully it wasn’t visible when my daughter had the skirt on and it was in otherwise great condition. If you can catch a sale and/or credit it’s a pretty good deal. I don’t think I’d pay their normal prices for the most part though.

Mine said it would apply the $10 at checkout, but I went all the way through to the end and it charged me the full amount (minus 50%). Oh well…at least I helped some schools!

    • Kelly

Same here. I am A new user and had never created a collection before. I sent an email to them to see if they would give the credit.

  9. Krissy

The $10 crdit is for new customers who haven’t previously made a collection. Made a collection and went to check out and no credit :(. Called customer service and they said only applies if you having previously made a collection…. Bummer

  10. Q

    thanks Collin 4 free shirts!!

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

      Yay! You’re so welcome!

  11. Courtnay

They don’t ship to Fairbanks AK, great deal though!

  12. vmm

I was quite disappointed that I made a $23 purchase after the 50% off and at the bottom, it said
“you’re saving $103.12 and sending $2.18 to schools”
$2.18???? wow, not quite the 40% they promise. I used to love this site but I really don’t understand things like that.

  13. Candice

I think it is 40% of what is actually paid 😉 The amount you save is based on the new retail pricing for the items. HTH
I have ordered several times and its about a fifty fifty on what comes, but the stuff that was good was awesome so I didn’t mind. With all the promotions they offer it seems to be a pretty good deal 😉

    • vmm

I figured it was of what is paid but the amount they told me was going to the school is less than 10%; nowhere near the $9.20 it should be.

      • MommySpendsLess

It’s 40% of “proceeds” (aka profit) not 40% of your purchase (aka revenue). So from the money you spent they have to cover expenses – labor, lease/mortgage for their warehouse and office spaces, utilities, web hosting, shipping costs, advertising costs, etc.

It sounds like they’re estimating their profit at about 10% which seems about right to me.

        • vmm

really? that’s a sad amount going back to the schools…$2 of $23? definitely not worth sending in items anymore…crazy.

I’m sure it used to be an actual 40% back.
