    Boycott target

    • Tabitha

Boycott Target? Why? Because they aren’t discriminating against trans people?

If you’re boycotting Target you should know there are about 150 other companies that stands for the same thing. Good luck with that.

      • spedtch95

Agree Tabitha! You might as well Boycott Disney, Marriott, and pretty much every business out there that stands against hate. And for every single one of those 600,000 signatures I will intentionally spend more at Target.

      • Katie

They may support trans, but NO ONE has publicly come out and said “please use the women’s restroom” target is the first. I have no problem with trans or the lbgt community but this is a way for non-trans people to easily find a way into a restroom with young children or defenseless women – and it has already happened. It has NOTHING to do with trans – it has EVERYTHING to do with women and children

        • Ally

          Thank you! Said perfectly

        • Ana

Sure, cause a non-trans criminal wouldnt get into the bathroom otherwise, right? Such a silly notion, If you ask me, by all means, all those boycotting Target, take your business to Walmart, you will fit right in!

        • Sue

What do you mean – it’s already happened? Please tell me you didn’t take the news article on a satire site seriously like the other commenter.

    • AJ

      Why?

    • Anne

Stopped shopping there. Don’t want my 8 year old daughter possibly using the bathroom with a man.

      • Angela

I’m sorry but you have to worry more about neighbors, friends and stalkers more than someone who just wants to live their life as the opposite sex. Most rapes and things like that are from people you know. No offense but if a man is going to stalk the bathroom they would have done it anyway.

        • Angela

I do agree. We shouldn’t be on here talking about boycotting and disagreeing. We need to respect everyone!

      • S

Hope your daughter doesn’t go the the restroom with her dad then.

        • Dee

No kidding. I have all boys. By the time they are 8 they do not want to go to the bathroom with me anymore. Looks really weird by the time they are 11. You don’t think molesters target boys too? Just another excuse to hate.

    • Colleen

This is not a forum for hate.

      • Silvia

It’s not about hate or transgender. It’s about safety.

    • Marcy

      Boycotting

    • Mel

You are disrespecting Collins blog. You want to boycott, fine. Post to Target’s fb page, not a bloggers that continues to post Target deals where there are still people that want to do the deals.

      • Naomi

        Completely agree, Mel!

    • Casey

GO AWAY with this! Stop posting on every Target deal post with a fake name. PLEASE STOP out of respect for Collin and her readers.

    • bonnie

University of UT is now transgender friendly as well. This make me sad if I cant tell your a man and you act and look like women then go pee in the women’s bathroom that how its always was I’m sure I have peed next one before. but now I fear that we went to forward with everything that we are losing our rights to privacy I don’t want my daughter dealing with her first period next to a man, or who wants to take a poop with guy in the stall next door to you I want my privacy I’m sorry but if look like man you should use the men bathroom until you have become a women vice versus I’m also not ready to explain sexually with my children and they will ask why is a man able to go in the girls bathroom their to young to no all that stuff I want to keep the innocence’s as long as I can I want to protect my rights as a mother and a women and if that hurts people I’m sorry but that how always been and that how it should stay sorry I know I have bad grammar

    • Shelby

I rarely shop at Target because other stores are more conveniently located but I plan to start going out of my way to ship there because they do have an inclusive policy. No one even thought about it until some politician told you to be scared. That same politician is probably the real pedophile. And the policy doesn’t say “you can use whichever restroom you want” it days of you identify as male you may use the men’s room and if you identify as female you may use the ladies room and there is a huge difference between a man walking into a ladies room vs a trans woman walking into a ladies room. And if a pedophile is going to walk in to a ladies room they are going to do it regardless of company policy. Check the HRC.org site while you are boycotting. You might find yourself stuck at home with no cable, internet or Netflix if you want to boycott companies with inclusive policy like Target.

  2. Ivan

I’ve stopped shopping there. Sorry, I can’t risk my 8 year old daughter having to go to the bathroom or changing room with a guy possibly being in there.

    • Ally

I am by no means against transgender people. What I am against is a pedophile/sex offender deciding he wants to “identify” with a woman and goes in the women’s bathroom and sexually assaults someone. It’s a lawsuit waiting to happen for target. They should put a better plan in place, such as making the family bathrooms welcome to transgenders.

    • Holly

Glad to read comments like yours. Safety, not political correctness, should be a priority for businesses. They won’t get my business either, and I don’t even have daughters.

    • Rebe

You shouldnt be sending your 8 year old daughter alone to the bathroom no matter what. Criminals do not need the protection of a law to act.

  3. Hip2saver

This is not a trade but I need some information. How long do you wait for a person to reply for your trade? I recently done trade via paypal. I sent my part of paypal but havent received her reaponse yet. When we were trading we exchanged the email quite a few times but I was receving her reply in every 20-30 minutes.I know she might be busy or any other reason but direct me what should I do?
She even responding my email but not my money. I sent her $70 in paypal.

    • Julie

Trades on here are at your own risk. Perhaps she is busy. I would send her another email if that is the contact info you have.

If it was me and I saw this person post on the trade thread, I would let others know to beware if it doesn’t work out. Unfortunately sometimes people take advantage of others. I hope it works out for you!

    • S

Contact Paypal and see if there’s anything that they can do to help you. And please post the email of the individual so the rest of us know to steer clear of at least that email. Yes, I’m aware they could just create a new email.

  4. Katie

I have no problem using the restroom with an an actual trans sexual, some of the best sweetest people I know actually! I have every problem using the restroom – or my children using the restroom – with someone using this as a cover. And yes it has already happened. There are enough crazies in the world we don’t need to make it any easier for them to get our children!

    • SV

      No, it hasn’t already happened.

Those stories going around? Try searching for them and “snopes” in the search. I’m sure you’ll find the results quite enlightening.

  5. Lisa

Boycotting target for my personal safety and my nieces

    • Holly

Boycotting for my nieces as well 🙂

    • mel

Bc your personal safety wasn’t at risk before???? You people are ridiculous. You might as well live in a bubble.

      • Angela

        I completely agree. Just nuts!

      • Naomi

Again, totally agree with you! 🙂 I guess more deals for us then.

      • Hilda

No. Not in this manner. Not in a closed restroom. Any man can just waltz right in, out in the open, and no one can tell him not to.

      • spedtch95

Totally agree Mel! These people were using the restroom all along, now is no different. They are human beings. They didn’t avoid the restroom the last several years because there was no public corporate policy. I have a relative who worked at a PD and we have a state law about offenders not living within a range of schools. There’s a list you can pull up to see if they are in your neighborhood or in a school zone. News flash to the discriminatory people, not one person was trans. Statistically the odds are all for an average man and/or criminal. So the haters do need to go live in a bubble. In the meantime, there will be plenty more store stock for the rest of us who don’t hate. And while I’m laughing at the suggestion for the paranoid to go to Walmart instead, it might teach them a lesson. Again statistically, more crimes happen there in the parking lot, store, and yes that bathroom. I took two self defense courses, one by a PD, and they made a point to tell us not to go in Walmart bathrooms alone. Even the parking lot in the daytime isn’t safe. Go look up the crime stats in your area and you’ll see those victims are far greater in other stores’ parking lots/store/restroom, not Target and it’s criminals not trans.

  6. Jenny

I never sent my daughter the restroom alone… Regardless of her age. Just get real…. U are responsible for ur kids not target! Just saying.

    • Rebe

Well said Jenny! Like psychos need a policy like this to prey on children. Tragedies have happened in the past and will happen again. This policy is not the cause. Watch your kids, every second. Period.

    • Ivan

I’m a single dad and my daughter is 8. I have no choice if she needs to go to the bathroom. Think before you speak.

  7. Laurie

Like someone said before, it has NOTHING to do with the transgender!! It’s the pedifile that is in the stall next to you or your daughter with a cell phone, video taping or taking pictures!! We need to protect everyone rights. This is just unsafe for everyone! To bad I loved Target.

    • Ana

You realize that there are female pedophiles out there too, right? Or as you would call them, “pedifiles.”

      • Ann

This is where discussions take a turn for the worst. No need to childishly attack the person. She misspelled a word. So what. And what did you prove by your attack? Only the person you are.

  8. Jen

One of my favorite things (and there are many) is that I can come to Hip2Save and get away from the controversial crud in the world. It is a little sanctuary among all of the junk. Let’s keep this site for what it is intended…..a friendly, unbiased place where we can all agree on one thing……saving money is awesome. Onward and upward, friend. Peace, love and coupons!

    • Laurie

Well said Jen!! Peace, love and coupons;) I can’t wait to see Finding Dorey!! Anyone with me?🐠🐠👍

      • Laurie

        *Dory

    • Amy

      Well said thank you!

    • April

Peace, love, and coupons all day long. Well said. Two thumbs way up 👍👍

  9. Windy

Target has basically told everyone and anyone….. every person with a mental illness….. it is ok to enter into any bathroom they choose even if it’s not their own gender. This is not ok. Grown men do not have any business in a restroom with little girls. But Target has opened that door. Disgusting!!! The fear people have has absolutely nothing to do with hate or transgender, it has to do with the safety of small children and the innocent.

    • Windy

Simply because they “feel like a girl” today! Any male child abuser can simply walk into a women’s restroom and Boone can do anything about it???Transgender have been secretly using their bathroom they identify with for years and years. Why did target need to open the can of worms publicly??

      • AR

Bc of the bill that passed in NC. So if someone is transgender, they have to use the bathroom that they were assigned at birth. example Caitlyn Jenner would have to use the men’s room, even though he transitioned to a woman. Don’t know if he got rid of his uh..plumbing, but would you want her in the men’s room with your son or the woman’s room with your daughter? As long as he’s discreet in the woman’s room I really don’t care (and I’m not about to check stalls to see who’s standing vs sitting bc that would make me a perv, no???). Target just stated they wanted transgender to use the restroom they felt comfortable with.
That got blown out of proportion with it being men are allowed in the women’s room. Which just isn’t the case at all. And a child abuser is most likely to abuse someone close to them, not a random stranger in the bathroom. Pervs are always around.. At the park, heck even at school. cases of teachers, janitors and coaches molesting kids. People they are supposed to trust.

    • SV

I have a mental illness. It’s nice to know I wasn’t allowed to use the bathroom of my gender identity before and that I’m predatory and dangerous.

      • Karen

        Lol, huh?

      • spedtch95

Exactly SV. This has nothing to do with mental illness for you, anyone with a medical condition for that matter, and since when is a trans person mentally ill? Uggh.

  10. Sun

Again, it’s not about transgender people or bigotry or hate.

    • Tay

Bathroom issue: Hypothetical situation here– man goes into the women’s restroom with wrong intentions. A women in there feels unsafe and knows something is “off” about this man. She gets the manager/security. They come in and ask him to leave. He says, “I’m transgender– I have a right to be here.” Then everyone stands around thinking, “What in the heck do we do now?” And the women there now have to find a restroom where they can feel safe! There has to be a way that Target can address the transgender issue without welcoming whomever feels like it into the women’s restroom. Just my 2 cents.

      • Carrie

This. 👏👋👋 thank you. Perfectly said.

      • SV

How does your hypothetical man demonstrate his “wrong intentions”? Is he peeking through stall doors? Taking video underneath stalls? Those things are already not allowed. Go to the manager. “I’m transgender and I have a right to be in here.” Ok, then you do your business and you leave. Taking the videos is illegal. Peeking through stalls isn’t allowed no matter who does it.

So what changes? What if a woman goes into the men’s room and does these things? She would get into trouble, right? Just like anyone going into the women’s would get into trouble.

And why worry just about daughters? What about sons going into the men’s by themselves? Statistically men rape more than women, and pedophiles are more likely to target boys than girls. So why no worries there?

Nobody can go into a restroom and do something illegal or menacing anyway. If they did, regardless of gender, they would get arrested or banned from the store. So…. What changes? We were all already using the restroom next to transgender people anyway and there haven’t been issues. Anyone wanting to abuse this already gets into trouble.

    • SV

You know, it looks an awful lot like bigotry and hatred from where I’m standing.

I’ve got 3 kids, ages 5 through 18, and I’m not worried about this policy going public whatsoever. For one, there are family restrooms to be used and for another, I don’t let my kids go by themselves or even me go by myself anyway. If nothing else, if you find your stall has no TP, you can ask them to get you some, or you some for them. Who lets their kids go by themselves into public bathrooms? Or their neices or nephews? Or grandchildren?

Bigotry and hatred, painted as “but think of the children!”

  11. meg

Thanks collin! Hopefully I can get some of these deals tomorrow.

  12. Jessica Gonzales

Does anyone know if I have to use the tickets on the Finding Dory movie or can I use them towards another movie ? TIA

    • april

It’s prob only for the dory movie but u probably wouldn’t know until u try to buy the tickets online with the codes

  13. Mona

Collin, please delete comments going forward that have to do with this bathroom controversy. I get excited to check this site and read the comments thinking they pertain to the deals. In the past few days, it’s been nothing but hateful words. Not the Hip2Save community way.

    • Himan

Seriously? It’s discussion on public site. Collin would be censoring her readers.

      • AR

This is a DEALS blog. I come here to read about that, what people are finding… Not I’m boycotting every single post that has to do with Target. And Collin most certainly has deleted posts. I’m sure there’s only so much she can take before she she wants to throw in the towel.

        • K

My suggestion to you is read the post. Not the comments. Anywhere you go online will have discussion under something it doesn’t even pertain to and you might not like. Just move along.

          • JA

My suggestion is for Target boycotters to ignore any Target related posts.

          • AR

The replies are helpful! That’s what makes H2S so great. Those that want to shop Target shouldn’t have to weed through 20 replies of bickering. Those that want to boycott should be the ones scrolling past the deal posts.

    • Rudy

It’s not hate. Unless you are thinking “boycott target” is hateful. People aren’t spreading hate …. They fear the door it has opened. They do not hate transgender and it’s not even about them.

    • MamaMia

I couldn’t agree more.. Please delete the nonsense. This is not the place for it.

    • Sharon

Agreed. I read the comments too but nowadays it’s all bathroom ranting.

  14. Casey

Thanks for the Finding Dory tip! Can’t wait to see it 😀

  15. momof6

My kids and i cannot wait to see this movie! I’ll be looking out for the boxes!

  16. Angela

By the way, thx for the water bottle deal. I’m hoping to go tomorrow. My store may still have a few and we love those water bottles 🙂 thank you!

  17. Jen

These are great deal match ups. Thanks I really love movie ticket promotions and I hadn’t heard of this yet.

  18. Nicole

All of you people “fearing for yourself and children” are completely absurd. I grew up with overly protective parents that wouldn’t even let me have sleepovers at other girls’ houses when i was young either. It left me feeling like a social outcast and afraid to take part in activities when i finally was aloowed. You say its not about hate, but its either hate or stupidity. If an offender wants to get into a public restroom theres not much in place to stop them in the first places, regardless of what Target allows. That being said I hate to break this to you, but men are not the only ones who can be sexual predators. Funny how only women are freaking out about the whole thing. If you are that concerned for your child, take them to the restroom yourself.. Most facilities have a family bathroom – check it out if you are the parent of the opposite sex, then send them in there problem solved.

    • Eric

So what was it for your parents? Hate or stupidity?

      • Nicole

        stupidity

        • Nicole

sorry eric did i miss the part where you were trying to insult me?

  19. MamaMia

Not sure if it’s still going on.. Perhaps Collin could confirm but a couple of days ago there was a deal for a $5 gift card with a $15 purchase of Quaker, frito snacks and Pepsi products including Aquafina… I bought 9 boxes of granola bars at the 3 for $6 price to get the deal

    • mel

Yes, GC coupon was in the weekly ad and she has it in the matches!

  20. katy

Excited to get these great deals tomorrow!

  21. spedtch95

Well said SV! And I’ve worked around those with Fragile X and totally forgot that info. Great point. And I love how people hide their discriminatory beliefs and then label it as “not hate”.

  22. Abby H.

Thank you Collin for everything you do. Whether you like Target or not, it’s your choice. Please, take into consideration what hip2save is….it’s a place where we can help each other out and save. I have my opinion about Target but don’t discourage others who are probably on one income, single mom’s trying to save and make ends meet with coupons. Let’s continue to encourage each other, Collin does a lot on this website and we should not be discussing our personal opinions about stores.

  23. mercy

So per Quaker granola bars box, there is a $5 code? 😊😊

  24. Kelly

Well, after reading these comments, now I feel like I’m not safe to go to public restrooms in any store. I mean I never thought they might be unsafe. I thought that’s the reasons the stalls are made the way they are. And someone commented that you should never go to the restroom at Walmart by yourself. Well, I guess I’m going to have to start wearing adult diapers when I go shopping…

    • Lin-z

Lol- we needs some good deals on Depends!

  25. Elizabeth M.

Remember when Ally McBeal had unisex bathrooms?

    Anyway, awesome deal Collin!

  26. Lin-z

Athiests boycotted Chick-fil-a and now “Christians and rednecks” are boycotting Target. Who cares….the world keeps spinning.

  27. Karri

If you have a problem using the women’s bathroom with trans people you can always use the family bathroom.

  28. mercy

People complaining about the restrooms…if it really bothers you, HOLD it.. 😂 stop ruining Collins post about awesome deals..of you no longer want to shop at Target, then keep scrolling…

  29. cindy

Hi re: bathrooms i choose to go at home first. Avoids the whole issue. Fyi: my child was assaulted by a relative at grandmas house. It often happens where you least expect it. My kids are older now and i have heard many a school bathroom story over the years. Now that was scary! In public places we used the family restroom as much as possible or the parent went in with the child. Can we change the subject now?

  30. bonnie

I just love how people think holding your pee will solve everything its quite obvious they don’t have small kids or a potty training child that when they got to go they got’s to go but right god for bid we aren’t political correct its more important to let a man dressed as a man in the potty then let my child pee in safety the safety of our children out ways offended man wanting to go in a women’s bathroom children are my number one priority
