Is this only for new members?

    • Vanessa

I’d like to know too, because my membership actually expires this month

    • Autumn

I was able to do it the last time my membership lapsed. I’m not sure, though.

  2. Tori

Took me almost an hour to do this at the customer service desk as they didn’t know about the offer or how to do the upgrade. Heads up you don’t get the freebies right away. It can take up to 3 days to “load” to your card.

    • Cindy

Okay, so I shouldn’t be concerned that I signed up thru Collin’s link but see only that I’m a regular member with no Plus and no gift card or freebies?

      • Tori

If it doesn’t show up by mid next week call customer service with a copy of the ad. The only thing that helped me was having the mail directly from Sams

        • Mj

Do you happen to have a copy of the email they sent? Is it an individual code, or just instructions? I signed up and never received an email! Now there is no link. If it’s not an individual code, can you send me a copy so I can take it to my store to sign up?

    • Kim

Really? Did you bring them the print out with 4-5 step by step (and they are baby step) instruction? Including every single code they have to put in? As a former cashier there is a point where I would say come on let me please just do the simple 5-10 min process myself.๐Ÿ˜‚

this happened to me too Tori, took almost 2 hours at the store to get signed up, the cashier and manager had no idea as how do this offer. And i was told also that the free food and $100.00 in coupon savings would not be available on my account till this coming wednesday.

I hate when stores have deals and the workers and managers are clueless about it. They look at customers as if we are making thing up๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜ฃ

  5. Amy

I did the last Sam’s Club deal posted here and had no issues. The guy at customer service knew exactly what to do. He gave me a print out of what free item coupons would be loaded to my card and said it would take up to 72 hours to load, but they were there in less time.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing Amy! Glad you were able to grab the offer so easily!

  6. Just Me

These same problems happened to me when they offered this in November. It was such a pain! The phone customer service was great! In store not so much. Online and in store really don’t work together. Online finally called the store for me. Also online customer service also had no idea what special I was talking about. My sister also called but she said her cs was not helpful like mine was.

    • Collin (Mrs. Hip)

Bummer! Sorry to hear how frustrating it was to grab this last time. Thanks for the feedback!

Did a similar deal last year to get a discounted Plus sams membership vs. a regular membership. Love how you get $10 for every $500 you spend at sams. Every little bit helps!

    • Kim

I do too but they have a lot of restriction on cash back. I spend more money at SAMs because it is much closer I got $30 back this year at Costco I got back $102.xx.

  8. linda

I just left Sam’s. Had no problems. Clerk didn’t know about offer, but the document sent from Sam’s had steps to get card and freebies. Took about 15 min, but only had 1 person before me waiting for service.

  9. Melissa

Does anyone know when the coupons for the free item expire? Thank you

    • linda

      They told me 30 days

  10. Jeanell

It looks as if this is for new members only. So, does anyone know if a current member use this to upgrade?

  11. Kim

Oh my gosh, I’m glad I’m not the only one who had an ordeal…I had to tell the cashier THREE different times that it was a plus membership- I had to point to the directions for her, it was such a mess. Then she tried to charge me $100. I was so frustrated- the other cashier knew exactly what to do. The deals were there immediately, which I found odd. (I buy a rotisserie chicken every week, so figured I’d get the free one next week but it came off).

  12. Cindy

I see a lot of folks going to the store to get the deal, but has anyone had success signing up online? I don’t have any mail about the deal to take into Sam’s, just what shows on the screen when I click on Collin’s link (but it doesn’t have directions for a CSR to follow). I signed up thru the link and paid online, and now apparently have a regular membership with no plus, no Gift card, no freebies. I’m just a little concerned ๐Ÿค”

  13. Lung

Looks like for new members only ๐Ÿ™
Fmi if any1 know existing customers also eligible.

  14. Vicky

I tried to sign up ‘join now’ online and spent an hour and a half with a cashier and manager. I’ll be calling SAMs corporate Monday. It was awful! No one had been trained and this ‘social play’ offer was in their new handbook that no one has read yet. Ugh. Good luck!

    • Cindy

I still am confused. If you signed up online, why were you at the customer service counter for an hour? I feel like I’m missing something — do I have to go there to finish the deal somehow?

      • Rachel

I did it online and they told me it would take 5 days to upgrade it in the system but, I could log in to the app after setting up an account and use the card.

  15. Teresa

Darn, I just renewed last month for regular plus membership price!! Only thing I got was a Discover’s promo for $25 gift card. ๐Ÿ™
I also find their CS people are not friendly like Costco’s employees.

  16. Angel

I went to my store today. My membership has been expired for a few months but I still put this one in my husbands name and got myself a card through his and had no problems at all. I was out of there in 10 minutes, paid $45, got a $25 gift card. They told me the other offers will be available in 24 hours. Thanks Collin, can’t beat this deal!!!

  17. Cindy

I’m back. After waiting more than 72 hrs and still having only the regular membership with no extras, I called the 888 number in the offer and described the whole situation. The nice lady put me on hold, then came back and assured me that Corp is aware that everyone signing up for the deal online is seeing none of the incentives, but Corporate is fixing the problem and everyone who signed up online will receive everything promised. Apparently the response to the promotion was overwhelming and the problems are being fixed. Then she said to give it 5 days vs the 72 hours others were told. I asked if I should call back if nothing’s changed after 5 days and she didn’t really answer, she just reiterated that it’s being fixed, don’t worry. Since I’m sort of a skeptic by nature, I don’t really believe it. But I guess I’ll wait a few more days before I call back to cancel the whole thing…

    Anyway, just an update.

    • Lin

Same here. Still waiting, they sent my problem to “corporate.” Hmmm …

  18. Kelly

Just called in to Customer Service, I purchased online, printed out my sheet and took it in store, got a regular membership and CS at the desk told me to wait 3 days.

I called CS 1-800 today, and “what I was supposed to do”, was print off the offer sheet, the email with my sam’s club email and take it and in-store would process.

Told them I did everything but the offer sheet, and she said its taking 5 days for the gift card to be emailed to me. Then, I will see my freebies loaded to my card. I asked about the upgrade, and she said, I will take my green card back to customer service in store, and they will see the upgrade on my card after the 5 days and I will get a new card.

So, I asked her…I just wait a few more days and then it will all be there? She said yes. So, I guess I will wait and see what happens this week.

  19. cobbersmom

After 7 business days, I got tired of waiting and took all the paperwork (screen prints, codes, everything I could think of) to my local store. They were kind enough to cancel the membership I’d bought online (that didn’t work) and then start over using the emailed codes version. According to the nice gal who helped me, of the 7 people she’d talked to who had done the deal online, only 1 person had it work correctly. So she was quite knowledgeable about how to help me. And after about 15 minutes I walked out with my Plus membership and gift card*.

*Because our particular Sam’s Club doesn’t carry the correct apple pie shown in the offer, I actually received a $35 gc instead of the $25 one. I was totally fine with that!

Lesson learned – get the deal by email and take the email codes into the store.
