I’m not trying to be rude to whoever buys these. But seriously how do they get people to buy these sets for that much. I mean even the kids’ sets are way expensive. What, like over $50 and it goes way up from there. Once they have it all set up making the set costs them probably nothing. I wanted to buy batman lego sets. Man were they expensive. I could not spend that much on something like that unless is was not so often. It stinks that toys are so expensive. Especially when I have kids. I could not get myself to spend a lot on a toy that will not get played with much. I do not mind whatsoever getting used toys, so theres that.

What is anyone’s input. If you don’t buy new toys do you feel guilty? The kids are still happy with what they get in my opinion

I agree my son who is 10 loves legos but they cost way too much. I always go to JBF Sales when they cone in my area and always find bags filled with lego for $5 or less. I have even taken him with me and he loves looking for the legos πŸ˜€

I agree, the sets can be expensive. But honestly I’d much rather spend the money on Legos than a bunch of random toys that my kids play with for 5 minutes and then forget about. I don’t buy many toys. And it depends on your child. My almost 6 year old LOVES Legos. So I bought him few sets for his bday and saved some for xmas too. I don’t think this particular set will work for him at this age but I did buy him this one for his upcoming bday – https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=38059246

I agree that Legos can be outrageously expensive. On the other hand, I have to say that Legos, in my opinion, are the best toys ever! I am a mother of 3 adults, and now a grandmother. The one enduring toy throughout my kids’ childhood was Legos. Everything else broke or they became disinterested in. Legos are indestructible. They inspire creativity. They are fun for adults as well as kids. They have pieces that can be used and enjoyed for all ages. They are the one toy that we saved to pass on to our grandchildren. So, while Legos are ridiculously expensive, I would rather spend my money on them than a bunch of other toys that will provide joy for only a brief time. They are an “investment” toy, if there is such a category.

Thanks. I’ve never seen this price on this set. I love Legos. They are high quality & last forever unless they are chewed on. πŸ˜‰ They are so versatile that they grow with my kids. I don’t invest in many toys.

My 11 year old daughter wants to be an architect and there are great reviews on Amazon for this set. While I agree it is very expensive, you can also get an add’l $50 off by applying for their Visa card and yesterday had an extra 3% using ebates – so in essence, I was able to get the Lego set for 1/2 price!! Awesome deal for a budding architect who is doing Sketch up drawings of blueprints. We are always looking for tools and resources to help feed her knowledge and creativity. It also includes as great book! πŸ™‚

How cool! Glad you could score this for her Shirley!
