How long is this deal good for?
My daughter has the kids kindle with Freetime and she LOVES it! She’s 4. Freetime has so many games and children’s shows already built in. Highly recommend
Thanks for the great feedback Crystal! Happy to hear she enjoys it!
I got 2 of these for my kids for Christmas, and they loved the games and features. My youngest enjoyed using his for all of 4 months before the screen shattered when he set it down too roughly (even though it was in the kid-proof case!) When I used the worry-free replacement program, I was instructed to send the Amazon Kid’s Fire back in its original packaging and in its entirety, which I did. What I received as the replacement was a REFURBISHED Amazon Fire WITHOUT the kid-proof case, and it just so happens the refurbished unit they sent me was non-functional upon arrival. I still have yet to receive a refurbished unit that actually works. I would’ve been much better off having purchased the $49.99 regular version, the kid-proof case, and the year’s subscription to FreeTime and just bought a new $49.99 version when he broke his tablet- instead of trying to deal with this since late April.
Darn! Sorry to hear that it was broken! 🙁 Thanks for sharing your experience Sarah!
I got these for my 3 kids for Christmas. I probably wouldn’t do it again. All 3 are linked to my account, which is great. However, all 3 also share the same memory. So, if my oldest downloads 15 games, it fills up the shared space on the other 2 kindles and then the wi-fi won’t turn on because the memory is full. Then we have to go and delete a bunch of stuff in order to get on wi-fi again. It’s pretty annoying honestly. They’re constantly — Mom, I can’t get this game to work. This won’t load. Wifi turned off again, etc etc.
We had the same problem until I purchased additional memory cards for each tablet. Really drives the price up when you have multiple tablets (we have 4).
Are they set up as separate users? We have 5 kids ages 5-8 and do not have this issue. Hubby set them up and is not here to answer how to avoid this.
My kids love theirs but are having the same issue right now! Each have 32gb sd cards & still are out of space. Would love to know how to fix this.
Can YouTube Kids be used on this?
I don’t think so. I know on the regular kindle my daughter can’t download the YouTube app bc it isn’t offered in their App Store, so she has to go to a web browser to use YouTube. Kids don’t have access to a web browser on Freetime.
